Artifacts are unique and powerful items which grant their owners special abilities. Many of these items have been seen in other games in the franchise. In the context of Elder Scrolls Online, artifacts are seen occasionally during quests or can be temporarily obtained in PvP. The visual style of several artifacts can also be applied to your weapons via the Outfit System. Some weapon and apparel artifacts are seen and can theoretically be used by players, but are unavailable to be obtained.

Artifact Styles[edit]

PvP Artifacts[edit]

The Daedric Prince Sheogorath, bored from the "lack of chaos" in the Three Banners War, committed a wave of thefts targeting the daedric artifacts belonging to his fellow Princes. These artifacts can only be found and used in Cyrodiil, and only one person per campaign may possess any given artifact at a time. They will appear at random 4 to 5 times per day. When wielded, artifacts will increase all their wielder's stats and replace all their skills with a new set of unique skills. These skills are free to cast (except for the Ultimate), and you may not mix them with your regular skills. As Sheogorath put a curse on them, Artifacts must be fed by earning Alliance Points, either by killing other players or attacking enemy-controlled keeps and resources. Failure to do so will cause the artifact to damage its wielder, eventually killing them. To date, there is only one available, but more are expected to be released in the future.

Volendrung[edit]

Volendrung
A paradoxical weapon forever torn between its Dwarven origins and Malacath's Daedric influence.

Volendrung will be available in Cyrodiil in (?). It's introductory quest is Chaos Magic.

Upcoming[edit]

Sanguine's Rose and Auriel's Bow will appear in future updates.

Quest Artifacts[edit]

These items can only be seen or used during a specific quest, and are always associated with solo play areas, so you can never see two players with the items at the same time. They also provide you with unique abilities, generally only useful during their associated quest.
