Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Receive a letter and read it.
  2. Meet and speak with a vampire of your bloodline.
  3. Head to the dungeon where your vampire spawn resides.
  4. Locate and destroy your vampire spawn.
  5. Return to the vampire contact within the time limit.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Vampires of your bloodline often hide in plain sight
Be alert for long range surprise attacks
In undeath, your offspring is a potent spellcaster

Undying Progeny[edit]

Your vampire family calls once more:

A pale young boy slips a letter into your hand and disappears, nimble as a rat.

The letter reads:

(Building)
(Town)
My Dear (player's name),
Perhaps you remember a warrior
you met once, (spawn's name)? Taut,
succulent, slightly thin-blooded,
but all in all, a memorable meal. Well,
(he/she)'s back from the grave now.
(Bloodline) have rather
mixed emotions about your progeny's
existence. Come see me and we'll discuss
it.
Yours in Death,
(Vampire's name)

Travel to the town named in the letter and enter the building. Speak to the vampire, who says:

"Ah, good evening to you, blood of my blood. We have a problem, you and I. One of your old meals has come back out of the grave. (Spawn's name)? I don't know if the name means anything to you. In any case, we have been watching (him/her), as we watched you, to see if (his/her) response to immortality is worthy of (his/her) bloodline.
It has not been. With every drop of blood (he/she) drinks, (his/her) thirst increases tenfold. A mad, virgin vampire loose in the region is a threat to all civilized vampiric business. Go to (dungeon) and slay this troublesome child of yours. It is unpleasant business, but it is your responsibility. I will expect to see you again in (time limit) nights with the deed completed. Farewell."

Vanquishing the Vampire[edit]

Take the fight to the vampire and end its existence once and for all

Travel to the dungeon and find the vampire within it. Attack, but be careful as your spawn is a powerful foe. When hit, your errant spawn will taunt you with one of:

  • "Better not spare that rod, my parent. You'll spoil me."
  • "I know you. You were the last face I saw, smeared with the blood of my body. Come, my dear creator, let us embrace."
  • "Your face is the face of my nightmare, (player's name). You are the one who cursed me to this life, aren't you?"

Once you destroy the vampire, you will get a notification:

(Spawn's name) dies at last a true death. You must return to tell (vampire's name) that the deed is done.

Do this to complete the quest.

Reward[edit]

When you return to your bloodline contact after your progeny has been put to rest for good, you will be told:

"Is that a hint of sorrow on your brow, (player's first name)? I quite understand. I have on more than on [sic] occasion had to slay an offspring of mine. You must try to rise above this mawkish mortal regard for propagation. What you have had to do is lamentable, but you must chill your blood to truly become one of (bloodline). You have made a step toward that, for which you deserve congratulations."
