Lady of Riot

The Lady of Riot is an Imperial Reveler of the Rose sorceress skilled with Alteration magic. She recently became the master of the Everlasting Fair. Under her leadership, the fair has become known for making the guests dreams come true. Though, when you speak with some of these guests, it becomes obvious these wishes are granted in ways that they didn't expect or want.

In truth, she subverted many of the Revelers away from worship of Sanguine to her cult of personality, and through magic has altered and trapped many of the guests in the fair.

Quest-Related Events

After speaking with Sergeant Alydine, you learn that several members of her squad became trapped in the fair and are unable to leave. She suggests you search for their Alfiq scout Sashii at the fairgrounds. You will come across a talking goat who claims that the Lady of Riot has taken over the fair and changed how it works. In return for locating the missing Fighters Guild members, he will ask for your help in thwarting the Lady of Riot.

Once you have found Sashii, the goat will elaborate on what he wants you to do. The Lady broke an important relic of the fair—the Rod of Revels—without which the Lady of Riot's enchantments can be dispelled. The talking goat will suggest you check the Ogrim Parade and the Misfortune Teller's tent for pieces of the rod. When you visit the tent and speak to Madame Mysterra, you can enter the tent and find yourself in an underground garden. There will be many Nixads flying around, and as you approach, one will call out to you to touch the Orb of Fates.

When you touch the orb, you will hear a voice around you:

Lady of Riot: "Your fate will not be pleasant, should you continue to interfere with my Everlasting Fair."

Afterward, another Nixad will point out the Orb of Happenstance. Touching the orb, the Lady speaks with you again:

<A bubble of water surrounds you and disappears.>

Lady of Riot: "What? Don't you like my illusions?"

When you touch the third orb, the Orb of Shadows:

Lady of Riot: "Your future is mine to command!"

Upon touching the fourth and final orb, the Orb of Consequences:

Lady of Riot: "Your misfortune awaits!"

<You are teleported to the lair of the Misfortune Teller.>

The Lady of Riot will cheer for your death, as you start the fight with watcher:

Lady of Riot: "The Misfortune Teller predicts your doom!"

When you defeat the Misfortune Teller, the Lady comment:

Lady of Riot: "No matter. There are many more games to play at my fair."

You can then find and search the prize chest. Instead of a piece of the Rod of Revels, you will find a note from Brunnduhl. The note claims that the Lady of Riot turned Brunnduhl into a monkey and that he took the piece of the rod from the chest.

After traversing the Ogrim's Parade, you find one half of the rod and go and find Sashii to update her on your progress. She then helps you find Brunnduhl, and you will need to speak to him to calm him down. Unfortunately as soon as you have done so, the Lady of Riot will appear on a nearby crate in a shower of glass:

Brunnduhl: <Monkey screams.>

Lady of Riot: "Boo! You're too late, I already took the rod from that stupid monkey. It's in a much better hiding place now!"

Sashii: "That's her, the Lady of Riot! Run, Brunnduhl!"

<Sashii and Brunnduhl run away.>

Lady of Riot: "You'll never escape my fair! And my revelers are oozing to deal with that old goat skulking around the shipwreck!"

<The Lady of Riot disappears.>

You can find the Goat on a nearby dock, and he works out where the Lady of Riot has hidden the other piece of the rod. After claiming it from Blood'N'Baubles, you can bring the parts to the Goat who will restore the Rod of Revels. You will then need to take the Rod and use it to find the entrance to the Tent of Dark Joy, which where the Lady of Riot is hiding, as well as being the location of the missing Ethrolo.

It will turn out that the Lady of Riot hid the entrance beneath a large statue of herself. You can enter the Tent of Dark Joy and fight your way through the Revelers to where she is waiting for you.

Lady of Riot

In the space where the Lady of Riot waits for you, you will see a very small Ethrolo on a stone platform. He is dressed as a jester and is unable to stop dancing. Before you fight, she may say the following:

Lady of Riot: "Aren't you having fun at my fair?"

Lady of Riot: "You're interrupting my revels!"

Lady of Riot: "Time for some entertainment!"

When you begin the fight, the Lady of Riot will shout:

Lady of Riot: "Let the spectacle of your defeat begin!"

After you bring her down to a certain point of health, the Lady of Riot while have a card up her sleeve and calls out:

Lady of Riot: "And now for my next trick!"

Lady of Riot

The Lady of Riot's next trick is to transform into a form akin to a Reveler Flame Harvester. During this part of the fight, the Lady of Riot will call out as she is more and more injured:

Lady of Riot: "No! The show must go on!"

Lady of Riot: "No one can match my power!"

Once she has been slain, the Goat will arrive and have you restore the Rod of Revels to its rightful place.

• The Visitor's Guide to Western Solstice has the name of the fair as Sanguine's Fair. The wording on a recent invitation suggests that the Lady of Riot changed the fair's name when she took over.
