Ethrolo in his true form

Ethrolo is a Wood Elf member of the Fighters Guild who can be found at the Everlasting Fair. He was part of the squad that was investigating the area for Worm Cult activity, only to get caught up in the Lady of Riot's shenanigans.

He can first be encountered in the Tent of Dark Joy, and he is very unhappy with the situation.

Quest Related Events

Sergeant Alydine asks you for help to find and free her missing squad members from the Fair. While investigating the place, you make a deal with a talking goat, who offers to help you locate and restore the squad in return for ousting the Lady of Riot. While finding parts of the broken Rod of Revels, you discover Sashii who was turned into an Orc and Brunnduhl who was turned into a monkey.

It is only when you go to confront the Lady of Riot in the Tent of Dark Joy, that you finally find out what happened to Ethrolo. In the space where the Lady of Riot waits for you, you will see a very small Ethrolo on a stone platform. He is dressed as a jester and is unable to stop dancing:

Ertholo: "Please help me! I can't stop dancing!"

You will then need to fight and defeat the Lady of Riot, once this is done the Goat will appear and the exhausted Ertholo is finally able to stop.

You can try talking to Ethrolo before speaking with the goat:

"Please, help me! I'm so tired!"

After you restore the Rod of Revels to it's rightful place, the goat will generously create a portal for you and Ethrolo to leave the area:

Goat: "There, a portal for you and the puppet to leave. His little legs look tired."

<The tiny Ertholo walks into the portal.>

Going through the portal, you will find yourself in the main fairgrounds where Sashii, Brunnduhl and Ethrolo are waiting. All of them are still transformed:

Sashii: "Over here, friend! We're still like this!"

Ethrolo: "I wasn't cut out for life as a puppet!"

Sashii: "Sashii knew the goat could not be trusted!"

<The goat appears out of a nearby portal.>

Goat: "Yowling away as usual, I see. Just a moment."

Brunnduhl: <monkey scream>

<Green energy and runes surround the trio and when the light fades they are restored to their true forms.>

Brunnduhl: "Kyne above! Is it over?"

Sashii: "At last! Sashii has her dignity again!"

If you speak with Ethrolo before Sashii:

"I am mortified. She had me dancing like a fool! I deserve respect!"

Talking to Ertholo before completing the quest:

"It's so nice to be still. My feet still ache from all that dancing.
As soon as we get back to Sunport, I'm going to find the biggest glass of wine I can. Or maybe something stronger. Then I'm going to sleep for a week."

After you have completed the quest, the Goat will have some final words for the group:

Goat: "Well, little Alfiq, you got what you wanted. Though you were more entertaining before."

<Sashii crouches down, tail lashing.>

Sashii: "Don't underestimate this one! She has her claws again!"

<Ethrolo shushes Sashii and turns to the goat.>

Ethrolo: "Shut up, Sashii! Er, thank you for helping us, lord goat."

Talking to Ethrolo before leaving the fair:

"I thought I'd catch my first cultist at the fair. I was going to interrogate them and write a report. But all I saw was the Lady's tent! Between that and all the dancing, my observations are practically useless."
