Eye color swap

I actually became a Vampire by accident; I slept without knowing I had the Vampire's disease. Anyway, I ran to Deepscorn Hollow and used the font of Renewal to cure the disease while it hadn't advanced further than 25%. I noticed that my eyes had become blue after the cure, while they originally had been brown. I loaded a save file from before I became a Vampire, but still having the Vampire's disease. The first time I reloaded they where, strangely, blue. The second time I loaded the same file they were the appropriate brown.

Question is: How (and why) did the eye color swap? Does Vampirism, or porphyric hemophilia, affect that eye color? The strangest part was before becoming a Vampire; once the save showed blue eyes, the second time that same save file showed brown eyes. -- LordDagon 09:11, 10 August 2008 (EDT)

The exact same thing happend to me but after i reloaded twice to get my eye color back i did the cure quest and that too makes your eyes blue there doesnt seem to be any way of removing it either...the reloading twice is the only way i can think of to change the eyes back

I have noticed odd things while saving/reloading as well. Typically, If I have horded stone bricks, and make a wall out of them, then blow it apart with a fireball (Yeah, I get bored.), then reload the game to a point just before the fireball being cast, sometimes stones that got launched away will not be in the wall as they should be and I have to reload again to get them to be in the proper area. Scxe 20:11, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

Same happened with me, I was an Argonian when I got bitten by Lucien Lachance, and my eyes swapped from blue to red. I reloaded the game. RED EYES, even BEFORE being bitten, so we can conduct from this experiment it's not Poryphoric Hemophilia itself that cause eye swap, but the game spamming up. — Unsigned comment by Deadly920 (talkcontribs) on 6 July 2009
Since when can you edit Argonian eye color? I'm pretty sure for the lizard folk, you are stuck with red/yellow... Also, I think you meant Vicente Valtieri, not Lucien Lachance... GenocideHeart 10:51, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Vampirism causes the eyes to go red, according to the article and I myself have made an argonian with blue eyes. — Unsigned comment by 96.241.9.28 (talk) at 17:02 on 30 November 2009 (UTC)

When you first become a vampire, the face mesh recreates itself, older and with red eyes,so then if you cure the disease after becoming a vampire it will, again, recreate yur face. --86.139.92.247 11:00, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Other Vampires

Are all the other vampires in the game at 100% vamipirism?Amantius Allectus 13:10, 14 August 2008 (EDT)

A look through Oblivion.esm would say 'Yes'. All NPC Vampires in Vanilla Oblivion posess three Abilities : Vampirism100, Vampirism100Skills, Vampirism100Att. They also possess Hunters Sight and Embrace of Shadows, plus the 'VampDisease' spell used to infect the Player. Aensland 07:20, 16 August 2008 (EDT)

Vampire NPC Page

I noticed that there was a request for a Vampire NPC page; if no-one is working on it already, I'd be happy to give it a go. Aensland 07:21, 16 August 2008 (EDT)

I've got a brief draft outlined now on my PC. It basically outlines that there are 24 types of Vampire, with typically 3 unique Vampires to each type (plus 2 in 3 special Classes); that all NPC Vampires are at level 100, with a list of their Abilities, and that they don't take sun damage. I wasn't sure if it was sufficient to make a new page. Aensland 07:57, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
The best thing to do would be to put it in a sandbox. Create a subpage off your user page and post the content there. That way, people can see it and tell you what they think. –RpehTCE 07:59, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
Thanks. Just wondering, how would I make a subpage from my (currently empty, I believe) user page? Aensland 08:42, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
I'll make it easy - click here and you'll be in a sandbox off your user page. Enjoy! –RpehTCE 08:52, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
Thanks for you help. Aensland 09:02, 16 August 2008 (EDT)
Aensland, go ahead and make a Vampire NPC page, theres already NPC pages made for pretty much every NPC, I've placed it here for you http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Vampire ... and moved this page to a new page called Vampire Disease. The Unbeholden 08:48, 17 November 2008 (EST)

Not advancing past stage 1 vampirism

I've tried getting the disease from either random vampires or Vicente Valtieri. Both work, however when I get it and try to sleep it only takes 1 hour to become a vampire, and sleeping for 24 hours six times didn't change my level of vampirism. I'm wondering if this is because I waited to get the disease till my strength and speed were both at 100, will was at 30. — Unsigned comment by 69.26.5.251 (talk) on 5. October 2008

Hmm... guess after playing for awhile then sleeping did the trick :P — Unsigned comment by 69.26.5.251 (talk) on 5. October 2008

Feeding needed to advance Vampire Stages

In my copy of Oblivion GoTY for 360 i cannot advance through the vampire stages until i have fed at least once. It took me three games to finally realize this but it doesn't seem to be a glitch of any sort. I don't know if this is common or if it is completely unique.

Lord Eydvar 21:50, 3 November 2008 (EST)

You must feed once in order to advance in vampire stages. Mucka 22:13, 15 May 2009 (GMT)88.109.42.33 17:15, 15 May 2009 (EDT)

PS/3 Vampyre Bug?

Archimedes, has been bitten in both Redwater Slaugh cave, and Lipsend Tarn. He has yet become a vampyre. Even after a weeks sleep, no vampyric dreams. Maybe the game is racist. I have a level 37 delf, that has been walking around sense level 5 with vampyrism. Aker also has failed to turn. Though my white character got bitten, and have turned.

Maybe it's because Archimedes is a devine crusader. I have also noticed that he no longer gets robbed by those roadside bandits. Archimedes has defeated Umaril at level 3. What a whimp. Those Aurans at Garlas Malatar, where more of a hassle then he was.

Disease Resistance Not 100%

After becoming a vampire, I caught the Red Rage Disease when fighting a rat. During the "incubation period" of Polyphoric Hemophilia, I caught another disease and didn't cure disease until after Vampirism took full effect and I rested. Could this be why I was able to catch Red Rage? -- William The Third 21:29, 9 November 2008 (EST)

After becoming 100% vampire, I contracted the porphyric hemophilia again while fighting another vampire... — Unsigned comment by 141.155.118.84 (talk) on 1 May 2009

Even though being a vampire protects you from disiese, there are a few exceptions. I know out of personal experience that the 100% resist disiese does not apply for porphyric hemophilia, and one time I also contracted this weird disiese from a dread zombie.

Sun Damage not repeating

Not that I'm complaining, but the sun damage only happens once and not once a second. Only once for the first second. -- William The Third 21:29, 9 November 2008 (EST)

The sun damage now occurs once per second after installing Vile Lair, Frostcrag Spire and Repairing the Orrery. -- William The Third 01:48, 13 November 2008 (EST)

mistake

from the page "Unintentionally Whenever fighting vampires you run the risk of being infected with the vampirism disease, Porphyric Hemophilia. Locations where vampires may be encountered are listed at Vampire Dungeons.

Resist Disease effects, even if at 100% or higher, will not decrease the chance of your character catching Porphyric Hemophilia, because of a bug in the way the disease is specified in the Construction Set. To increase your chances of catching the disease, you can create a custom Weakness to Disease on self spell. If you wish to become a vampire but disease resistance is making it difficult, you can instead use Vicente Valtieri's Dark Gift (see By Choice)."

the 1st contradicts the 2nd and 3rd can someone verify witch is correct? Diobern 14:27, 20 November 2008 (EST)

Fixed, someone assumed that Porphyric Hemophilia is affected by disease resistance.. it isn't. hate people who assume things, sigh, and use 4 tilde keys to sign your posts please, that to is annoying. The Unbeholden 11:05, 20 November 2008 (EST)

**XBOX 360 Bug**

I've experienced a nasty bug with being a vampire on the XBOX 360. When you are taking Sun Damage, DO NOT save the game or attempt to load it. When loading the save file while taking Sun Damage, the game freezes and crashes 100% of the time. Has anyone else experienced this? --65.111.139.18 17:05, 13 January 2009 (EST)

Not All all for me. May be a scratched disc?
I'm getting it on PC, ShiveringIsles_v1.2.0416English. It's happening in leyawinn and i thought that was the problem at first, however i can go to leyawinn fine in a character that is not in a vampire state. I am a 100% vampire dark elf. — Unsigned comment by 98.135.44.107 (talk) on 21 May 2009
No, I'm sorry but it's just your disc. I saved a few times whilst taking sun damage before, but it didn't freeze. — Unsigned comment by Deadly920 (talkcontribs) on 6 July 2009
It's not his disc. It's Bethesda and their eternal bugs. It happens to me all the time. You save the game outside while taking sun damage, game will crash when you attempt to restore the savegame. It happens 99% of the time. I suspect that's because the game tries to apply sun damage to an object that isn't there yet (the PC object is probably added to the game world at the end of the loading process). Thank you very much, Bethesda! Impossible to play the game as a vampire. Sun damage is not a problem, as I have a constant Restore Health spell on me that negates all sun damage, but it's impossible to play if the game crashes all the time WRFan 07:33, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Ok, after much testing, I think I now know why this bug occurs. This has something to do with the ActiveEffectCode assigned to the Sun Damage effect. You can look up the code by checking your Active Effects tab on the character sheet. If Sun Damage is listed first at the top of the list, it has ID 0. If you equip the Necromancer's amulet, which adds two vulnerabilities, it will be listed 3rd, so it will have ID 2. Why it's listed after the Necromancer's amulet? Because all the effects are listed alphabetically, and Necromancer starts with an "N", which precedes "Vampirism" that adds sun damage, which in its turn precedes "Weakness to whatever", because "Vampirism" starts with a "V", which comes before "W" as in "Weakness". Stupid stupid stupid! Not only didn't Bethesda fix the bug, they also called the ability "Sun Damage", which puts it basically near the end of the negative effects list, which makes it jump like a crazy rabbit up and down whenever new negative effects are added, cause "S" letter is pretty much at the end of the alphabet. Maybe Bethesda doesn't know the ABC, lol.

Maybe the game crashes, because it tries to update a wrong effect ID? The crash occurs most often if you save the game right after the sun damage effect changes its ID.

In any case, rejoice, brethren, for I've found a solution. Simple, but effective. Check this out:

ref weather
short gamesaved

if (gamesaved ==2)
  forceweather weather
  set gamesaved to 0
  set weather to 0
  return
endif

if (gamesaved ==1)
  set gamesaved to 2
con_Save quicksave
  return
endif

if ( IsKeyPressed2 63 == 1 )
  set weather to GetCurrentWeatherID
  forceweather 00032e15
  set gamesaved to 1
  return
endif

As you can see, hitting F5 on the keyboard will first change the weather to Oblivion plane weather (no sun), quicksave the game, restore the weather. Niiice. No more crashes WRFan 15:26, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind, I slightly re-formatted your code just for readability. Interesting solution. Unfortunately, it's not going to help the XBox users much, since they have no way to change the game code. :( —Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 20:28, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, there was a small mistake in my script, because I didn't know exactly how the script is processed by the game engine. Fixed. It's explained here:

http://cs.elderscrolls.com/Con_Save

In any case, I also tried a very interesting, extremely complicated different approach that was supposed to set Sun Damage magnitude to 0 before saving the game, then set it back to 8 (full vampirism 100%). Took me 10 hours to write the script, but it didn't work as intended. It seems even if Sun damage magnitude is at 0%, the game still tries to update the player health, which crashes the game but good. If anybody's interested, it involves an OBSE function that creates an array of all active effects as listed on the player's active effects tab; the script checks all effects and if it finds one that has the Sun Damage code (defined by the letters SUDG by Bethesda), it changes the magnitude to 0.

A different approach would be to change the player's Vampirism to 25% before creating a savegame, then change it back to 100%. I don't recommend doing it though, since the game does not update vampirism features properly, so you may end up with sun damage gone completely and your standard human face restored. WRFan 08:51, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

it could also be because the xbox(and or 360)/PC/PS3 cant respond fast enough when you suddenly start taking lethal amounts of damage rigth after loading (submitted by a moron)

Would it be possible to edit the Sundamage effect so that it doesn't do any damage? If the game crashes because of the damage being taken while loading this may allow broken saves to be played again.

Resist Disease for NPCs?

Does the Resist Disease effect make sure that some NPCs have less chances of becoming vampires? What I mean is: can an Altmer, with 75% Resist Disease, be less susceptible to contract Porphyric Hemophilia?--SerCenKing 13:36, 4 February 2009 (EST)

I have an Argonian character. They have 100%. I contracted it once but died soon after, the new load was without the Vampire Disease, I would say you have the same chance. Hoborobo 13:55, 24 February 2009 (EST)
Thank you for trying to answer this question but what I meant was if NPCs are more susceptible not your player character. If you read the main article it says that Resist Disease has no effect. In any case, Argonians also have 75%. Thanks anyway. --SerCenKing 14:54, 24 February 2009 (EST)
NPCs don't "catch" diseases, they spawn with them. There's no way to alter what disease an NPC has except through the construction set. Likewise, vampires cannot be "made," all vampires are preset in the construction set. There's no way to turn someone into a vampire in game, besides yourself. The reason you don't see any Argonian vampires is because Bethesda didn't make any. --Macros the Black 15:11, 24 February 2009 (EST)
I obviously didn't think that NPCs can become vampires, but rather that their abilities would influence on whether they were vampires. For example, if there was a race with 100% Resist Disease I doubt Bethesda would make a vampire from that race. But anyway your second point kind of sums it all up. --SerCenKing 15:16, 24 February 2009 (EST)
Oh, you were speaking from a lore perspective. I thought you meant game mechanics-wise. Well, there are High Elf and Redguard vampires, but no Khajiit ones. It seems rather than base it on racial disease resistance, they just didn't make vampires for the beast races. And I don't think there is a lower chance to spawn High Elf or Redguard vampires. --Macros the Black 16:51, 24 February 2009 (EST)

Is it worth it?

I was just wondering if it is worth even being a vampire, and if yes what stage should i try and stay in?

Rjo7124 22:11, 21 March 2009 (EDT)

It's really a matter of preference. It makes more of a difference early on in the game, just make sure (If you're playing on PS3) that you're willing to go through all the extra effort to be cured later on. I was a vampire until my major skills started hitting 100. (The skill bonuses aren't viewed as fortifications, so, provided at least one of your major skills is being augmented, it results in a lower total level, and, most of the time, lower attributes. Hence why it's better early on in the game, in my opinion) and I missed those beautiful sunny days on the Niben coast.
But yes, I had a great time as a vampire until about... level 25+.

I think i like it better when i am above lv 22 because by then i have enough health for sun damage not to wipe me out — Unsigned comment by 195.93.21.37 (talk) at 19:33 on 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Agreed. It can be well worth the attribute bonuses you receive (plus the little lesser powers you get). However, if you keep it in check by feeding, then you will have nothing to really worry about. But as mentioned above, some people just don't like the style. –Elliot talk 19:33, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Weird Vampire Khajiit/Argonian eyes

Well at human like vampires i understand but from Reptile or Feline eyes too human(vampire) eyes is this a bit weird ? I looked even in Mod Wiki for something too change the eyes but one has a dead link and the other causes gameplay problems. --DarckArchon 15:11, 27 March 2009 (EDT)

Sun Damage Implementation

How exactly is the Sun Damage implemented when you're a Vampire? Is it treated as a Spell, or as an Ability? I'd think it was an Ability, but I want to be sure. The reason I ask is because it would be possible to create a 'Restore Health' spell that counter-acts the Sun Damage if your Restoration skill was at 100; however, the Magnitudes for someone using the Apprentice Birthsign would need to be doubled to counter the Sun Damage if it's implemented as a Spell, and such a spell would basically kill your ability to use other spells during the day. On the other hand, if it's implemented as an Ability, a spell would last far longer than it takes Magicka to regenerate, and would therefore be a viable option for running around during daylight hours.Swk3000 17:58, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

Sorry. Forgot to sign my edit.Swk3000 17:58, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

•I could be mistaken, but it sounds as if you're almost asking two questions. The first of which is "How is the damage applied?". The second question would be along the lines of "What are the mechanics of the application process?". To the best of my knowledge, the mechanics behind it are similar to water damage; i.e. drowning. In this sense, it is unavoidable that you will take damage. You could, however, simply make a restore health spell over x duration (try to find a balance that lets you restore magicka, but keeps you at full hp long enough). Scxe 20:03, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

I'm not trying to ask two questions. The question itself is, 'How is the damage applied: as an Ability or a Spell?" The rest of it is just a 'Here's why I'm asking' sort of thing. Basically, spells to counteract the Sun Damage would be much more useful if the damage is treated as an Ability, because it wouldn't be affected by Weakness to Magicka (from the Apprentice Birthsign, for example). If it's treated as a Spell, then the damage would, in fact, be affected by Weakness to Magicka, and a Restore Health spell with a Magnitude of 8 would be useless at Level 4 Vampirism to a character using the Apprentice Birthsign. Basically, I'm asking a question, then explaining why I'm asking.

As far as i can tell, it is not implimentd as a spell. My logic is simple. With the atronarch birthsign, taking sun damage does not restore magicka. Makes sense to me that it would not be spell damage.

Becoming a Vampire Again (After Being Cured)

The article states that after you've been turned and then cured, you can't become a vampire again due to a bug. Is this bug fixxed in the Xbox 360 version with the patches on Xbox Live, and thus only applies to the PC version? Or is it a current bug in both of them and is permament for the Xbox users? 97.120.7.247 23:40, 15 May 2009 (EDT)

Actually, it's not a bug, it's by-design. As such, obviously, it's never been "fixed" in any version of the game. I couldn't find anywhere in a quick search, but if the article indicates that it's a bug, please feel free to correct it, or indicate where so other editors can have a look at it and make any required changes. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 02:00, 16 May 2009 (EDT)

second vampire quest?

The article mentions there are two vampire only quests. Besides the Cure one what is the other? — Unsigned comment by 24.144.219.58 (talk) at 11:39 on 16 May 2009 (EDT)

Where do you see that? The Cure is the only vampire-only quest in the game, though if you have Deepscorn Hollow, there is another way to cure Vampirism without doing the quest, as mentioned in the article. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 22:44, 16 May 2009 (EDT)
"Yet, also unlike previous Elder Scrolls games, there are only two vampire-related quests and there are no vampire clans that you can join, nor can you associate with or avoid being attacked by vampire antagonists." Right there second paragraph. — Unsigned comment by 24.144.215.39 (talk) at 19:31 on 29 May 2009
Ah, thank you, I'd missed that. I would assume that it's referring to Order of the Virtuous Blood, though I suppose you could include the fact that you can be made a vampire by one of the Dark Brotherhood quests, or the Mage Guild quest where you find out that Count Skingrad is a vamp (if you didn't already know). Those last two seem far too minor to really "count", though. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 15:17, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
Or the Darkness Eternal quest. 24.237.1.34 23:45, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that was the Dark Brotherhood quest that I meant. I just didn't have the name of it off-hand. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 17:22, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Link Updates

As I'm going through and trying to update the links to Oblivion:Vampires to correctly point to either Oblivion:Vampire or Oblivion:Vampirism, my changes might seem somewhat random at first. My basic logic is that if the context refers primarily to the player (explicitly or implicitly), then I'm changing the link to point to Vampirism, since that's where the disease as it relates to the player is discussed. On the other hand, if the link is referring to NPC vampires, then I'm changing it to point to Vampire. Also, I'm changing the links in the latter case even though not strictly necessary just to make it easy to see what has been checked and what hasn't. --NepheleTalk 12:28, 16 May 2009 (EDT)

Re-enabling Vampirism

With the newly-added method of re-enabling vampirism after you've been cured (was Method Four, I moved it to Method Two), it looks like it would work normally with the UOP installed, but if I'm reading the code right, you'd never progress from 25% if you don't have the UOP. Is there anybody out there who doesn't have the UOP (or has been cured and can shut the UOP off temporarily) who can confirm this? I just started a new game and my old games are archived, so it would be a tad difficult for me at this point.

In the meantime, I added the note to what's now Method Two, on a "better safe than sorry" basis. It certainly won't hurt to feed. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 17:40, 3 June 2009 (EDT)

Becoming a vampire by sleeping at Walker camp

I just edited the vampire section. If you sleep at Walker camp in one of the empty sleeping rolls during the day you will wake up to a text message about a dream of being bit by a vampire, and sure enough you're a vampire! Has anyone else experienced this? Can't believe I found something new after this long.

There's nothing special about the bedroll in Walker Camp. You probably contracted Porphyric Hemophilia at some point and this was the first time you slept after the initial 3-day waiting period. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 04:35, 21 June 2009 (EDT)

some glitches/bug on using console with Vampirsm

I had started playing Oblivion 2 weeks ago and thx to USEP I finally finished all the Main quests

But when I decided to try Vampirsm, I found playing Oblivion with an ugly face (and NPC will run away from you) is a thing that I dont like.

So I come to think: what if I change my race to reset my vampire face?

  • Then I let Vamprism reach 100
  • type- showracemenu
  • Edit the race , but not clicking ok
  • open save screen, save the game
  • then load the newly saved game
  • Result is, the face changed to the good looking one,
  • Sun damage gone ,
  • Vampirsm gone,
  • Skill bouns gone,
  • Attributes bouns gone

Vampire Spells.....STAY, all 4 stay...

However, when I apporach a NPC, they shout: "Go away you monster!"

I cant find any answers in USEP:Oblivion:Vampirsm

Maybe more test is needed, I just pointing this fact out and hope it helps

Cheers

I want to recommend checking out this section. If those commands don't help, something larger is messing up. It could quite possibly be a mod conflict. --Mr. Oblivion(T-C) 02:52, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

I experienced an odd glitch after using the “no sun robe” mod (adds a robe that you can wear to avoid sun damage) though I can't be positive that the mod is at fault.

I was a stage 3 vampire and I was wearing just the hood of the robe, I waited 1 hour which placed me in to stage 4. The "Dream" msg came up and I clicked done then another one came up, and another etc... locking me in an endless cycle, so I disabled the mod, loaded up my last save and went to sleep instead. Sleeping caused me to level up and for some reason I lost my vampirism though I still had all the stage 3 vampire trait and abilities with the exception of the disease resistance...odd though useful.

Unfortunately it didn’t last

People still commented on my looking ill even though my characters appearance reverted to what it looked like before vampirism, even though I could no longer feed, and I no longer received “dreams” that announced the next stage of vampirism I still became a 100% vampire, but the only effect this had was that people would no longer talk to me (I did not receive the 4th stage spell or attributes). I more or less resolved the problem by using the consul to cure my vampirism (set PCVampirism to 0) after that people no longer treated me as a vampire, I no longer advance though the stages of vampirism and I can no longer become a vampire. I still however have all the attributes and spells of a level 3 vampire.

I don’t know why/what happened or what I actually did but I’m fine with the overall results so I’m gonna stop messing with it.

The mod is the only thing I changed recently so I would imagine it was the cause, but I can’t think of why it would have caused it. HighDrive 03:26, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

As far as im aware no, its not affected by your difficulty --Volanaro Talk 18:57, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
No, it is not affected by the difficulty slider. If you read the article, you will see a table that includes a column labeled Sun Damage (HP/sec). --Elliot talk 09:23, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

what does it mean?

there is a phrase on the page saying you can fast travel from your houses that you own exept anvil, is that supposed to mean, you can fast travel anywhere if your inside them? — Unsigned comment by 6 August 2009 (talkcontribs)

Yes. If you are inside a house that you own (except Benirus Manor in Anvil) you can fast travel anywhere you want. –rpehTCE 13:15, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

KotN sitting glitch with feeding animation

The page for the final Knights of the Nine Quest says that its 'sitting glitch' which affects sitting animations by making them take ages to happen or stopping them happening entirely (which makes it impossible to complete the theives guild, but in other cases like the start of the Shivering Isles it 'understands' the character is sitting) also affects the feeding animation for vampires. However, it neither confirms nor denies if feeding is still possible. If this glitch occurs, does feeding still happen or take ages to trigger, or what? This particularly needs to be found out for vampire characters. I can't test it myself as I have yet to start KotN or become a vampire.

vampire face (PS3)

Is there a way to change your face back to what it looked like before on the PS3? (I'm playing a 23rd level female dunmer in case that helps) — Unsigned comment by 97.102.109.201 (talk) on 26 August 2009

Have you cured your vampirism? You will look a bit older, while being a vampire (depending on your progress). Loading another save from the main menu (before starting the game) from when you weren't a vampire, and then loading your recent save, will fix the issues with a wrong face appearing. --Timenn-<talk> 11:43, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

Way to prevent advancing through stages of vampirism?

Sorry if this is already covered in the article or if this is common knowledge. I noticed that after I became a vampire (through Vicente from DB), and not feeding ever, even once, I could sleep or wait all I wanted and remained 25%. I always make a point of staying at 25% no matter what on all my other characters, so this is a plus for me. I couldn't find this mentioned anywhere in the article. If this works for everyone, it should be mentioned somewhere, because it's beneficial for some people who don't mind staying at 25%. 71.220.115.249 19:48, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Human Blood Potion

does the human blood poitons in the vampires room at the dark brother sanctuary count as drinking blood — Unsigned comment by Allgreto (talkcontribs) at 21:34 on 31 August 2009

It does if you have the Unofficial Oblivion Patch installed. Otherwise, no. —Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 03:46, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
No they don't sorry, but i'm sure you can find some mods to change that if you are playing on the pc. — Unsigned comment by 86.45.77.119 (talk) at 19:39 on 13 September 2009

Crazy Vampire Glitches

I once decided to become a vampire, and it worked fine. However, I then noticed that my, normally Argonian, eyes had turned into red human eyes. I then became a 75% vampire, and wanted to become a 25% vampire again, so I go to the Waterfront District and feed on the beggar Puny Ancus. It says that I have become a 25% vampire. So then I wait for 12 hours, and it interrupts me after 2 hours saying that I have now become a 50% vampire. And, finally, I (stupidly) saved while taking sun damage. Oddly, my game does not crash instantly, but every single one of my saves are now hideously bright and blurry, as if I'm taking sun damage. So I turn off Oblivion, and then my game crashes! I have not found anything on the wiki about these symptoms, so I would be very happy if someone cared to enlighten me. Smart Kid 19:14, 14 October 2009 (UTC)

Fast travel question

Just seen this bit: "You can fast travel during the day, from any of the houses that you own, except in Anvil." Is that right? I thought you couldn't fast travel from inside any building. Vlad the Imperial 15:42, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

You can fast travel from houses you own Volthawk 15:55, 15 October 2009 (UTC)

Becoming a Vampire Again (on Xbox)

Alright, so I became a vampire before level 10 with a Nord character and stayed Vampire all the way to level 35. Then, I used the Vile Lair Blood Salts to cure myself. I started vampire hunting and contracted Polyphyric Hemophilia again. I waited three days, just to see if I had indeed been set on the path to vampirism again and... I became a vampire again! In the brief intermission between vampirisms, I did notice that my character's face was not aged in the least (just as a side note). Has anyone else had the phenomenon happen? Or am I just lucky? Vashmanseven 22:08, 28 October 2009 (UTC)

Strange, I play on the xbox and that has never happened to me. Could you be more specific about what you did to trigger it again? After all it could be only porphyric hemophilia (drain fatigue 5 pts) and not the real vampirism.--S'drassa 01:12, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
I retested to see if it just was not some freak accident and, again, I had become a vampire. The prerequisites are as follows: I was a level 1 Dark Elf, I contracted Porphyric Hemophelia at level 1, I immediately slepts three days in a row to become a vampire, I then used the Vile Lair's Blood Salts to cure myself, and then I became a vampire again. I even tried it again with that very same character and it seems I can infinitely become and unbecome a vampire with that character. However, I only tested this on a level 1 Dark Elf. I am not sure if the race or level or the manner in which I was cured has anything to do with it (or for that matter, the fact that I am using a launch copy of Oblivion), but the fact remains that I am not barred from being a vampire again and again with this specific character. Comment moved for Bugs section

"on the PS3 GOTY edition the quest to remove vamprism is bugged so that the witch who creates the cure will not accept the bloodgrass there is only one way round this that is to play the original edition run the quest from that game.(needs conformation please) this may cause issues if you have any items from Shivering Iles or Knights of the Nine on you." I believe bugs should be proven before being added. Jplatinum16 22:38, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

"The Quest Method is bugged on the PS3 version of the GOTY edition and no patches have so far been released to fix this, so as the Vile Lair is inaccessible to PS3 user I wholly recommend really thinking about become a vampire and insuring you don't accidentally catch it. Because you will be stuck like it unless you own the original edition as well." Jplatinum16 22:45, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

The bug is proven to exist, but it was already covered on the Cure for Vampirism article. Since that article is the proper place for those bug notes, they should not be placed on this article. --Timenn-<talk> 15:02, 12 November 2009 (UTC)

i apologise if this is out of place but im sorry for any confused caused the above two posts are mine, again sorry for any confused caused, on the fix for the bug i have reputable sources who inform it it has worked for them but id if anyone can confirm that'd be most welcome - JamesDC99
