Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

A Hidden Gem[edit]

Speak to a noble, who says:

"I have a friend, a potential ally, who is in need of discreet assistance. It's a relatively simple salvage operation, one for which my friend would happily pay very handsomely and I would greatly appreciate. It will need to be accomplished very soon, within (time limit) days. I'll go into detail, if you're interested."

Accept[edit]

The noble goes on:

"Excellent, I knew you'd help. Now then, my friend is (noble's ally) of (town). (He/She) has lost a gem, a sapphire, and my spies have tracked it down to (dungeon), of all places. (Noble's ally) needs this stone, because (he/she) borrowed it from a third party. If it's not in (his/her) hands in (time limit) days, well, there will be considerable trouble. Furthermore, the persons who now possess the stone will, according to my spy, be vacating (dungeon) any day now. Obviously, you'd best leave immediately to get to (town) in (time limit) days with the sapphire. Good luck, (player's first name). Make me proud."

Decline[edit]

The noble answers:

"Well, saying no from the beginning is definitely preferable to saying yes and failing. I am a little disappointed, but that'll pass."

Sapphire in the Rough[edit]

The giant doesn't know it is time for repayment.

This quest is not another simple delivery, but requires some efforts to be done. Travel to the dungeon the noble mentioned to you and enter it. Somewhere inside the dungeon you will come across a giant, kill it. Upon inspecting its corpse you will discover the sapphire you have come for, you will get a notification when you pick it up:

You have found the sapphire.

Obviously the giant used it as its toy. Leave the dungeon and travel to the city where the noble's ally can be found. Ask around until you know where to meet them. Deliver the sapphire and receive a magical item as reward.

Reward[edit]

The noble's ally is already waiting impatiently.

When you return with the sapphire, the noble's ally will be relieved and say:

"Oh, (player's first name), you don't know how relieved I am that you found that sapphire. I don't even want to think about it if you hadn't. Here's the finest reward I can give you, a (magical item). Please accept it, with my sincere thanks."

  • "(Noble's ally) has been awfully nervous lately."

If you fail the quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "Apparently some powerful wizard has it in for (noble's ally)."
  • "(Noble's name) has been complaining about the dearth of decent (player's race) mercenaries."

If you successfully complete the quest, NPCs may say when asked for any news:

  • "Turns out (noble's ally) didn't steal that gem after all. They found it."
  • "(Noble's ally) was called a thief, but they found the gem (he/she) supposedly stole."

  • "My friend tells me that you got the sapphire. Now, what can I do for you?"
  • "I'm glad to see you again. My friend appreciated the little blue gift."

If you failed the quest, the quest giver will greet you with:

  • "I'm impressed by your nerve, (player's name). You failed the quest and yet return with no sapphire."
