Hello![edit]

Hello Thuraya Salaris! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:

If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:

  • Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own

When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).

Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! --AKB Talk Cont Mail 03:23, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

I ate it but it's thought that counts~ I never had a problem with any of your edits making my job easy ----Candc4, Also known as the Man Inside the Sexy Leather Pants CT 06:08, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Keening[edit]

Some anon just (apparently) corrected the Keening page to say that it was of Dwemer origin, not Daedric. Since you added that it was a Daedric artifact when you created the page proper, I wanted to check with you to see if you took that game data (which sometimes categorizes things oddly) or if it was a copy-and-paste error or something. Minor Edits 07:26, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

This was a copy paste mistake on my part as I did all the Daedric artifacts along with this at the same time. Keening is indeed of Dwemer origin.Thuraya Salaris 07:34, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

Red Eagle deletion[edit]

Thanks for marking my incorrectly-named Red Eagle image for deletion so quickly! I went back to do this myself after uploading with the correct name, and saw you'd beaten me to it :) --Reka 14:51, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

I just happened to be watching recent changes and working on image stuff already. Glad to have helped. Thuraya Salaris 14:54, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Patrollership?[edit]

Would you mind if I nominated you for patrollership? You're an absurdly skilled and dedicated editor. Quite frankly, I was shocked to learn you weren't one already. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 20:38, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

I'd be happy to accept the nomination. I really appreciate the compliment as well! Thuraya Salaris 23:55, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
It's all set up. You just need to agree to the nomination, now. Sorry about my non-specific designation of your gender, by the way, thinking back, I should of probably substituted those with "this editor" or something along those lines. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 05:51, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your nomination. I've indicated my acceptance on the page. Thuraya Salaris 05:57, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Septimus Signus's Outpost[edit]

Just FYI, re: "even though it's wrong its right beause thats what the game uses": no, it's right because it's right, and the game's use is correct. Formally, singular possessives should always be "'s", regardless of whether the noun ends with an s or not (aside from a handful of special cases). The incorrect use of the plural possessive form has fairly wide acceptance in casual English though, so that's not really "absolutely wrong" these days either. (I'm sure Wikipedia will give you the details, if you're interested). I thought it was worth mentioning this simply because if you end up patrolling a large number of edits daily, "correcting" every already-correct use would burn up a bunch of time that I'm sure you have better things to do with. :) Good luck with the nomination. Aliana 07:47, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing this out. Although, in this case I only ended up correcting it because it actually broke the links. Thuraya Salaris 08:16, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Congratulations![edit]

I've just given you patroller privileges, I hope you enjoy them. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:57, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks! I'd like to thank everyone for their support. Thuraya Salaris 17:08, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Congrats! Welcome to the never-ending battle against little red exclamation marks! Also, your nomination pointed out an unrelated issue: can you maybe add a Userbox to your page indicating your gender? We all seem to be very confused about this. :Þ (Or just add {{User Undecided}} if you really wanna confuse us.) Robin Hoodtalk 19:59, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! I don't see why I can't add one to avoid confusion, although it amuses me that people put so much emphasis on gender. Thuraya Salaris 20:04, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Maybe it's just me? Wanting to use the right pronoun in your nom, I googled your name, and came up with someone elsewhere indicating they were female, so that's what I used. Sorry for the mistake. :) Robin Hoodtalk 20:11, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Nothing to be sorry for. Thuraya Salaris 20:13, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
I didn't put that much research into it, but for some reason I also had the impression "Thuraya" is a female name. And I apologize for nothing!! Minor Edits 20:15, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

() It is a female name. It's the name of my female roleplay character. Thuraya Salaris 20:19, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Question on image[edit]

Hey! I got back to taking another shot of Drelas and no matter what I do his dagger is not shown properly, his robe "swallowing" a piece of it. What do you think would be the best solution here: to remove a dagger from his inventory through the console or to cut the shot so that only top of the dagger is seen, but that way his hands are not in the shot? I don't like either... Thanks. --Shuryard 23:54, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

I've never removed items that are worn by the NPC. I've found that by using the tc console command you can usually get an acceptable shot by moving them around a bit. I'd not worry about this sort of thing too much as it is a part of the game that everyone experiences and there is really no need to compensate for it because of this. Additionally, you should always aim to get a full body shot or at least the majority of it. Thuraya Salaris 23:59, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
What do you think now: Drelas? --Shuryard 00:15, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
It's lightyears better than the other ones! It's a tad bit dark but nothing that some quick photoshop work or a correctly placed magelight would not fix. Overall this is the sort of image that I aim for when I upload. Thuraya Salaris 00:21, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, now I know what you mean - natural light is much better. How do I mark not the whole page, but just the two previous images for deletion? --Shuryard 00:28, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
You're welcome! I'm glad to have been able to help. You don't need to mark anything for delete. Every image has its own modification log just like the articles have their change history saved. Thuraya Salaris 00:32, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Farmer vs Farmer[edit]

Hey, Thuraya! I have a question about NPC summary template. I believe that the class Farmer is not defined properly in it: if I click on it on any NPC's page who belongs to the class Farmer (E.g. Severio), I get to the Farmer NPC page, while I think it should be class Farmer page. Is it possible for me to fix the template, or it is only for the authorized people to do? Thanks, --Shuryard 05:40, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm not super familure with these class templates myself, however they are not protected and can be modified by any user. I would however suggest a talk page comment first; additionally I'll direct someone that may know a bit more about these templates to take a look. Thuraya Salaris 05:49, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi Shuryard. If you're comfortable editing templates, by all means, go ahead and fix it. If you need help, just post back here, or on my talk page for a faster response. Sorry, I'm retracting that. Your best bet is to change the {{Faction}} link on the page. We'll probably have a bot do corrections en masse at some point, but it shouldn't hurt to correct any individual entries in the mean time. Robin Hoodtalk 05:54, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
I just went ahead and changed the targeted page. We might need to go through each one and make sure the links are uniform. elliot (talk) 06:05, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, sorry, I completely misunderstood the question. Not doing well tonight. Robin Hoodtalk 06:07, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, all! Robin Hood, get better! :) Elliot, but now on Skyrim NPCs page, under Generic NPCs section link Farmer (NPC)s points to the class Farmer, which should not be the case, I believe? --Shuryard 06:13, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Happens to all of us, Robin. Maybe Well will let you do her some other night. Minor Edits 06:14, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

() Ouch! That just hurt, ME! And...ummm...if Well is a she, I'm not really gonna care one way or the other. :P Robin Hoodtalk 06:20, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm clearly not on my game, either. Minor Edits 06:24, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, Elliot! I see you fixed it. --Shuryard 06:22, 9 February 2012 (UTC)
Well looks like we got that taken care of rather quickly! Great job spotting that issue Shuryard! Thuraya Salaris 06:27, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Bleak Falls Barrow images[edit]

Hey Thuraya! As promised, here’s a small “wish list” for the upcoming Bleak Falls Barrow quest page – and some other pages while you’re in there. ;)

  • Sqaure image of Arvel the Swift for the NPC page
  • 4:3 image of Arvel the Swift for the quest page
  • 4:3 image of the two Bandits having their conversation in the first chamber of the Barrow
  • 4:3 image of Farengar and Deplhine having their conversation in Dragonsreach.

You can see the (almost) finished quest page here – I only need to extract the two conversations somehow – and get the corresponding images – then it’s good to go. Thanks in advance! ☺--Krusty 23:36, 25 February 2012 (UTC)
