Dawnguard's Topic Predictions

Why do I get an eerie feeling that this is going to be about zombies in Dawnstar? It's probably not true, but after all of these franchises turning to zombies-You never know. And the glowing eyes...Meh. Hopefully it's something cooler. What do you all think? SlyKhajiit 17:06, 1 May 2012

Whatever it's about, any speculation should be avoided, if possible. I only included the note about the potential new content as that is the only genuine hint about what this could be about, besides the name and image (which is less informative). Please discuss this in the forums if you wish to speculate on what this could be about. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:15, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
Well I don't want to speculate or anything like that but considering that the fans complained immensely about the vampirism and how weak it was this time around and the combination of the glowing RED eyes of the dragonborn and the title "dawnguard" i say vampires or vampirism are going to play a part in this DLC. Question, was there any indication that this may have already be part of the game and locked and hidded within the files? as some crafty game companies don't make DLC but simply charge people into unlocking "new" content which was already in the game all along but locked. Mr.Scryer. 17:49, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
I'm fairly sure someone would've discovered it. On the CSList, which lists all of the game data, there is no record whatsoever of Dawnguard, the Snow Prince (besides the related book), and crossbows (except for one that Dwemer Spheres wield and the player can't use). Anyone can speculate, and I personally think that they will improve vampirism, but that type of discussion belongs on the forums. • JATalk 17:56, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

() I think that Dawnguard is definitely something to do with Vampires, for starters there is the image and the interesting files found in the latest patch... --Quill and Inkwell 09:26, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Quill, what files would you be talking about? Vely►Talk►Email 14:33, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
They're listed on the Patch page in a collapsible table. The Silencer has spokenTalk 14:44, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
Ah, thanks for that, Silencer. Of course they're on the Patch page. Vely►Talk►Email 14:50, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

() Maybe it has something to do with Meridia. Morrowind had an expansion which had stuff related to Hircine and Oblivion had a whole expansion relating to Sheogorath and Jyggalag. Meh, just a thought. -Lord Malus DCLXVI 23:07, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

I have two theories:
First Theory
Two of the preceding games had DLC focused on a Deadric Lord, Herecine in the Bloodmoon and Sheogorath int he Shivering Ilse. Azura, The Queen of Dusk and Dawn, could be involved in this DLC, hence the name 'Dawnguard'. This is a bit of a long shot considering you can totally piss her off by corrupting her Star during her Deadric quest.
Second Theory
A screen shot of a Falmer statue has been released. Because the Mer were created first, this could have something to do with the Dawn Era and the creation of Tamriel. This seems more plausible than my first theory, but it's still a little far fetched. I have my doubts that Bethesda will ever give us any real solid information on what exactly happened in the Dawn to Mythic eras. — Unsigned comment by 173.225.230.210 (talk) at 16:55 on May 23, 2012
Take it to the forums, please. Vely►Talk►Email 21:13, 23 May 2012 (UTC)

Minor change in last paragraph

Regarding the purpose of the Vampire Lord (Narrating Character of the trailer) gathering the Elder Scrolls: I hardly doubt he wants to 'destroy' the sun. You can see in the trailer a blood-red like fog blocking the sun. — Unsigned comment by 188.25.131.147 (talk) at 06:58 on 1 June 2012

Semi- the page?

I was curious, since I have been seeing plenty of Dawnguard references being reversed (typically of the same things, (Falmer, crossbows, etc.)), whether or not it would be worth while to semi-protect the article with a notice to speculate on the forums or post on the talk page verifiable sources. (Edit: Exists on talk page) Just a little suggestion to help with the constant reversions of the same type of information. Eric Snowmane (Talk | Contribs | Block) 19:17, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

It's a bit late now because E3 is only a few days away. However there will be a lot of rumors in those few days, so maybe a Very short protection until then, if thats possible. The Silencer has spokenTalk 20:10, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Dawnguard Beta for Xbox 360

Don't know where to put this, so here: link. Bethesda is giving Xbox 360 Skyrim players the chance to gain access to a beta of Dawnguard before its official release. The beta includes the entire Dawnguard expansion and achievements, so if you get accepted you're getting Dawnguard early and for free.76.181.65.128 19:47, 1 June 2012 (UTC)

Siding

The page says you can side with the vampires. Does that mean you CAN indeed block/destroy the sun as a vampire and block allmost all those annoying disadvantages away? (I said block because you see a red fog BEFORE the sun) — Unsigned comment by 77.166.160.62 (talk) at 17:03 on 5 June 2012

In the trailer it looks like you can but nobody can say for sure until it comes out, unless more info is released at E3.RIM 17:42, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
They're supposed to talk about it in the E3 segment starting at 4pm EST today. Vely►Talk►Email 17:50, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
I forgot that is this week, thanks for reminding me! I guess we should expect a lot of new info soon then... RIM 17:53, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
TES Online is also tomorrow at 6pm EST, I think. And I'm pretty sure the Dawnguard beta comes out next week... either that or participants are chosen. Vely►Talk►Email 17:57, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Previews

Here are a couple previews from E3 2012 demos that I found informative:

http://www.gameinformer.com/games/the_elder_scrolls_v_skyrim_-_dawnguard/b/pc/archive/2012/06/05/hands-on-with-the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-dawnguard.aspx

One of them mentions that Harkan needs Auriel's Bow for his ritual, but I wasn't sure if that was enough to add the bow to the items section.65.189.34.199 22:12, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Perks

Are the werewolf / vampire perks achieved through an overall amount of kills, therefore being there every time u become one again the perks remain? Or is it every kill you get in your current "transformation" adds to the perks, and then resets when you "detransform"? — Unsigned comment by Jpalmss (talkcontribs) at 20:26 on 8 June 2012

I don't know, and no one else will until the beta is released, but I'm fairly certain that it goes by overall kills, so you don't have to stay transformed 24/7 to keep your perks (which is very difficult to do). • JATalk 20:32, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

New Perks

Ive added the perks from The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Dawnguard Extended E3 Gameplay Preview. (Darco 01:38, 9 June 2012 (UTC))

Shouldnt the perks be listed in the werewolf and vampire lord pages instead? I thought this was supposed to be a hub article, if we list every little thing here it clutters up the page.65.189.34.199 17:03, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
Since Dawnguard is unrelesed and there is only a little information about it, it would be more conventional to have these things on a page. When dawnguard is relesed and there is much more information we can start categorizing things better... but right now its good to keep things together. On the werewolf page and vampire lord page the perks can be descrbed in detail instead of just being listed.--Cole1 20:05, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
I agree, anyway, since DG is out in like 3 weeks it's not a huge deal anyway. RIM 20:24, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
They both have their own page now, so it is unneccessary to duplicate them here. The Silencer speaksTalk 20:48, 10 June 2012 (UTC)
My opinion still stands but theres no use in arguing about such petty things.--Cole1 20:55, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Solstheim

Where is this information coming from? Beta users?--Cole1 23:19, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Beta's not out yet. Nobody online knows the term Abriilok; Google gives four results, none in English. I don't see how Falmer armor could be samurai-like. Nowhere online, except in speculation, do I see mentions of Solstheim with Dawnguard. I very strongly doubt the validity of the information, as much as I would like it to be true. Vely►Talk►Email 23:25, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I searched but i was just making sure i didnt miss anything.--Cole1 23:30, 11 June 2012 (UTC)

Release for PC/PS3

Bethesda has a 30-day exclusivity agreement with Microsoft for this content, from what I can see on Google. That means that the earliest Dawnguard can come out on PC/PS3 is July 26th. This does not mean that we should assume that to be the release date. Vely►Talk►Email 16:36, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Agreed, the official line is at least 30 days later. The Silencer speaksTalk 16:38, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

Beta Info

I assume that no one who edits this site got a beta invitation? I haven't seen anything added about the dlc since the beta went up.— Unsigned comment by Jpalmss (talkcontribs) at 11:27 on 13 June 2012 (GMT)

That's because if they release any info they can be sued by Bethesda for breach of the contract they had to sign to be able to get the beta. That is why there is a private forum set up for the beta testers to discuss the DLC. By rights, if anyone posted info from the beta on this site Bethesda would be legally able to either have this site completely disbanded and shut down or no new info being allowed to be posted ever.--Dro'Bakha 11:33, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
There is no way Bethesda could shut this site down for something like that. --62.49.114.165 11:08, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
Legally they can for the site disclosing classified information to the public. They fired some guy for leaking information once, and all the person did was post a couple of pictures from an unreleased game. They take things very seriously over there.--Dro'Bakha 11:14, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
This site has not agreed to anything, so how can it be held liable? The "classified information" isn't government secrets - it's updates about a game. Last time I checked WikiLeaks is still going. If anyone will get into trouble, it would be the beta tester himself. --62.49.114.165 11:54, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
I've seen plenty of cases of such things happening. A company can sue any place that harbours information they do not wish to be released. And then, either the site has to pay a large amount of cash or they have to shut down. The site doesn't have to agree to anything for it to be held liable for releasing private information. As long as Bethesda has a non-disclosure agreement with anyone the information cannot be released except with full consent by the company.--Dro'Bakha 12:03, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

New Shouts from wikia leak

I was under the impression we were not adding new info from the beta? Why did RIM add the new shouts? --62.49.114.165 11:03, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Pretty sure they were seen in some gameplay videos from before the beta was released.--Dro'Bakha 11:38, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
I can absolutely guarantee that Drain Vitality and Summon Durnehviir were not in any of the E3 or preview videos. --62.49.114.165 12:07, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh sorry, I didn't know they were from a leaked source, I just read about them in a few different articles. In my opinion, they (along with a lot of other info) are now all over the internet and in many online articles so it's not exactly a secret anymore, but I could have sworn that I read about them in Xbox official magazine online (or whatever it's called). I don't see any point in removing them now. RIM 12:34, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Durnehviir.

I read online that Durnehviir means "Curse" "Never" "Dying" as the words of power for the dragon shout.--JIGSAW 4 21:44, 15 June 2012 (UTC)

Also, a bit random, but there is an article online that talks about and shows the new Dragonbone weapons in case anybody didn't know.--JIGSAW 4 13:58, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
We don't want this kind of content on the wiki, as Bethesda is strictly asking for the testers not to release information. Please refrain from posting it until at least June 26th. —Legoless 15:04, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
I'm not a tester...--JIGSAW 4 16:19, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
It sounds like something that was release online by a tester. If you can find the article it's from, we could check that better--if it was printed in a magazine or shared at E3, for example. Vely►Talk►Email 16:27, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I wasn't implying that you were. Who do you think released the information publicly? We want to stay on Bethesda's good side, not follow the news outlets. —Legoless 16:28, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

() Well, whatever but it was from some article that i can't be bothered to look for right now, i'll post a link in the morning sometime...--JIGSAW 4 23:05, 16 June 2012 (UTC)

If an article calls it "leaked information" and has Xbox (photographed from a tv) images rather than PC screenshots, it's probably best not to bring that info onto the wiki. Vely►Talk►Email 15:42, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
So, you mean i can't even post it anywhere? it's not like i took the photos is it? --JIGSAW 4 17:02, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
If the information's not supposed to be out--aka anything in the Dawnguard beta that developers haven't told us--we don't want to host it and get in trouble for having any of the content on here, as a site or as individual users. It's legal stuff. I'm pretty sure we've already got everything we're allowed to have on the wiki by now. Vely►Talk►Email 17:08, 17 June 2012 (UTC)
Oh well, still good info though...--JIGSAW 4 17:16, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

() I will confirm that it does mean "Curse" "Never" "Dying". And he's pretty dool, as dragons go. Aegis Wolf-Walker 20:40, 27 June 2012 (UTC)

Crossbow access?

Does anyone know if the access and use of crossbows will be limited to those who join the Dawnguard faction? Save Compatibility?

Does anybody know if existing saves will be compatible? I.e. if I played original Skyrim (without Dawnguard) on my PS3, saved my game, then installed the Dawnguard expansion; would I then be able to load that save and play Dawnguard with the game I saved? Or will it require you to start a new game from scratch? 216.243.60.171 06:24, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Retail Copies

Has there been any information released as to whether Dawnguard will be available for purchase in stores like Shivering Isles was?--Kolensk 23:43, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

It should be available bundled with the GOTY edition after all the DLC has been produced. So sometime next year. --Vukodlak 02:07, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
Actually, Shivering Isles was released as an expansion independent of Oblivion, along with KOTN. I'm not aware of any plans for Dawnguard to be available in stores after release though, you might have to wait for the GOTY edition or for it to be bundled with different DLC, like Shivering Isles. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:35, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

How to Join the Vampires

Hi guys, just wandering if anyone knew how to join the vampires? I don't want to start playing Dawnguard and then have no idea what to do and where to go.— Unsigned comment by ChaosZeus999 (talkcontribs)

Well considering the DLC isn't out yet, and the Beta is part of a NDA contract so we won't know. And the fact that, as with all quests in the game, the compass will point out what to do you won't have no clue where to go or what to do.--Dro'Bakha 08:01, 26 June 2012 (UTC)
It is out now. You can join the vampires after doing a mission for the dawnguard, they send you into an area to find out what the vampires are up to and you come across serana. She asks you to take her back to castle volkihar and there you get the choice. Mr.Scryer. 21:08, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

More than meets the eye

I haven't played through all of Dawnguard yet but, as I was slaughtering everything in the Reach for werewolf perks, I stumbled onto something. Again, I'm not sure if this is part of the DLC's main quest or not, but I stumbled upon some very high level falmer in Liar's Retreat. I'm level 69 and ran into a bunch of things called Falmer Warlords, which had a two very similar (and awesome) sets of heavy armour called Falmer Hardened Armour and Falmer Heavy Armour (heavy seems to be a bit better, stat-wise). I've never seen anything like them before. I also encountered some sort of unique chaurus which looked like a nightmarish mosquito and dropped a probiscus (which turned out to be an alchemy ingredient). This sounds far-fetched, but Im sure it wont be long before someone else finds em too. Maybe they'll become more important as the story goes on, maybe they were just thrown in as a gift from Bethesda to high level players. Either way, Dawnguard greatly exceeds my expectations. — Unsigned comment by 216.211.58.135 (talk) at 01:58 on 27 June 2012

Don't forget to sign your entries.
I haven't seen the high-level falmer yet, but I have noticed a few other little gifties that Bethesda threw in with the DLC, including what seemed to be a female falmer and the altmer in the Ragged Flagon who will change your face. Vampire armor and the ability to smith your own arrows are a couple of other new benefits.
Whisper292 22:39, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
I uploaded a picture of the armour I found (unfortunately, the quality isn't the greatest). I'm very new to this, but I'm happy to be able to help.

Scroll Scouting [Quest]

Just a friendly heads up to whoever has access to the edits of the Dawnguard main page:

During the quest "Seeking Disclosure" you are asked to retrieve two elder scrolls: the "Blood" and "Dragon." If the player had sold an elder scroll (Dragon) to Urag gro-Shub after it was retrieved in the main quest, the quest log will update with a new quest "Scroll Scouting." The one and only objective is to "Buy back the Elder Scroll (Dragon) from Urag gro-Shub." Adding this quest should end any anxiety about whether or not players will be able to complete "Seeking Disclosure."

The other reason I added this to the talk page was because upon entering the Hall of the Elements, where my objective marker was pointing, I found the "leaders" of the college (Tolfdir, Faralda, Urag, Phines, etc.) gathered around the "beam of light", similar to the gathering when the Eye of Magnus was present. I believe this may be a potential bug.PrometheusTheElf 04:11, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Magic

The magic section should be updated with the new spells. There's a couple of new undead-damaging restoration spells sold be the Dawnguard and a few new conjuration spells.

These are the ones I remember. -Summon Arvak (Summons a flaming horse) -Summon Boneman -Summon Wrathman

~mcfishstick 10:04, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

I just found one not mentioned: Sun Fire. I brought it from Sarine I think.--Dro'Bakha 05:49, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
The spells sold by the Dawnguard that I have now, in addition to those listed above, are Stendarr's Aura and Vampire's Bane. There are also some restoration spells added to the vampire faction, allowing for undead to be healed, including: Necromantic Healing and Heal Undead Jkarofwild 20:33, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
These have all been added as redirects to the appropriate articles:
I can't find the Summon Wrathman one, are you sure of the name? I ask because the Boneman one was a slightly different name, so it's possible the name is different. As for what's on this article, it should have more complete/organized information within the next day or so, since some of the game-data is now available for editors. Vampires / Werewolves Hybrids..?

i've seen the options in Dawnguard and the choice between Vampyrism or Lycanthropy and i was wondering why they do not let a hybrid option in the game...it exists in the RPG'S in Whitewolf, in the Underworld movies and i find it ( like many others ) awesome!!!why the ripp off this choice from the players???it could lift the game in new levels...just my humble opinion... i've seen this question in some sites in the net too, does anyone knows if there's been any talking from Bethesda for that??? — Unsigned comment by Misusel (talkcontribs) at 13:21 on 29 June 2012

The simple answer is, because it doesn't exist in the lore. That said, it is possible to have both simple vampirism (not Vampire Lord) at the same time as lycanthropy if you take advantage of some obscure glitches, or you can simply add both abilities to yourself via the console and have the full version of each. Additions to vanilla dungeons?

Recently I had to go through bloodlet throne for a quest and I was attacked by gargoyles. Now I had never actually entered the throne before but as far as I know the throne was in the original game but, which means that there weren't any gargoyles there before the DLC. Are there any more places where the new enemy types have been introduced since the Expansion, If anyone can confirm this is new to the dungeon(or any others) maybe it'd be worth mentioning on the page? Side note, I am trying that 4 tilde thing here, though I don't know how it works 71.251.200.198 22:30, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

I've come across Chaurus Hunter Fledglings in Blackreach in their cocoons --Sanguine Night 23:25, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Snow Elves

Shouldn't the new Snow Elf characters be addes to the NPCs section? - Mulsivaas 23:21, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

The amount of new pages makes it hard to keep track of what is and isn't already added. If you're looking for someone, click the dawnguard category at the bottom of the page and you should find them. The Silencer speaksTalk 23:31, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Updates for spell list? Two summon spells that need mentioning.

The first is the Summon Arvak spell, which is taught by a soul in the Soul Cairn for locating his hose Arvak's skull. A second is Summon Wrathman, which is a spell tome in the Soul Cairn, found among the ruins of that plane.

I have the feeling there are others, and I think I read somewhere that summon spells could be coaxed from the Ideal Masters somehow, though I haven't delved into that puzzle yet.

Matt V 04:58, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Is it possible the name of this "Summon Wrathman" spell or spell tome is different? I'm not finding anything in game data with that name. Also, see this section above for a related topic. ABCface 19:32, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
I have a summon boneman spell, I think I got it from the breton ghost merchant who trades things for soul husks. RIM 10:38, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
I added all the spells I have seen so far. Conjure Boneman, Conjure Mistman, Conjure Wrathman, Heal Undead, Necromantic Healing, Stendarr's Aura, Summon Arvak, Sun Fire, Vampire's Bane are there any more missing? — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 11:19, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Items

There are too many items in the game to list. Theres a Shellbug helmet, Ring of Erudite, Ring of the Beast, the three rewards from lost to the ages, 3 different variations of vampire armor, vampire boots and gloves, dawnguard heavy and light armor, a new piece of jewellery (necklace made from a bird I think), Falmer armor, vampire variation of clothing. I suggest that the category be moved to a new page? --SamGhadiali 06:36, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, we're still trying to organize all the Dawnguard information, and eventually all items will be on the appropriate pages. The Shellbug Helmet is listed here, the Aetherium items each have their own pages for now (which will probably be made into redirects to larger pages), the vampire and Dawnguard equipment is at Specialty Gear, the Bone Hawk Amulet is already where it should be, and vampire robes are in their respective location as well. It's a work in progress, for sure, but we're getting there! Eventually that section will be removed from this page, but for now, it's kind of a mess. ABCface 06:43, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
I can't wait for the PC version to come out so that it gets organised much faster. But I keep itching too add to that list but I'll think I'll hold off for now. --SamGhadiali 06:54, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
If you'd like, you can add the items here on the talk page so they don't clutter the article, and I can try to add them to the appropriate locations. Before adding them though, make sure to do a search of the exact name used by the game, as some may have already been added. Or if there's any specific item in particular you're itching to see listed somewhere, you could just mention that. It'll all get placed on the site eventually. Though you're right, it will definitely be much easier once Dawnguard is available on PC, as the access to game-data and the use of the site's bots will make things go much more quickly. ABCface 07:11, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
I think the most important item would be Auriel's Shield due to it being one of the few Aedra Artifacts in game. Heavy Armor, weigh's 14 (altered the other stats due to smithing), description reads "Stores the energy of blocked attacks. Performing a power bash will release the stored energy." Can be found in the Forgotten Vale using the Ruby Paragon and is equipped by a Falmer. --SamGhadiali 07:55, 30 June 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I've been going through and making many organizational edits in the Skyrim namespace trying to reach a semi-organized way of doing things for the time being. I think I've covered all the new items that already had pages/redirects, and I'll be going through the other new content (places, NPCs, shouts, etc.) to add the appropriate categories to those pages in the next few hours, and after I'm done with all the existing pages/redirects, I'll take a look at that particular item, and add a few others I've come across as well. ABCface 14:21, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

() I added a page for it myself (seeing if I could get the hang of it) although I'm not sure if I did it correctly or not, thought I'd help in the war on chaos. Good luck with the organisation and I'm pretty sure the whole site will thank you if you manage well. --SamGhadiali 14:29, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Looks good to me. I added a couple links (one of which still hasn't been created, but will be soon), but other than that it's a great start. Now on to the organization for places, NPCs, quests... :) ABCface 14:40, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

Dawnguard "Lost Relic" side quest

There's a side quest for the Dawnguard, equivalent to the vampires "Rings of Blood Magic," called "Lost Relic" that requires you to find and retrieve the "Dawnguard Rune Hammer." Should be listed in the quests section.Jkarofwild 07:13, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Out of curiosity what does the hammer do and is it unique in appearence? I wonder because I don't want to do more quest for the Dawnguard to find out myself. --SamGhadiali 16:14, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
Curiousity got the better of me. Is Moldering Ruins a radiant dungeon or is it just for this quest? Interesting weapon with it's ability to place fire runes. --SamGhadiali 16:33, 1 July 2012 (UTC)
After completing the Dawnguard quest line I got another of these quests for a Dawnguard War Axe that improves with each vampire it is used to kill. There was also a shield before that. — Unsigned comment by 38.109.30.253 (talk) at 12:05 on July 2, 2012

Time to split

I think its time to split the sections into their own pages. This was done with Knights of the Nine and other add-ons. The Silencer speaksTalk 21:55, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, splitting it up into subpages is a good idea, as it's really long and unorganized as it is... I'm working on the page organization as a project at the moment, so if we are to do it the way KotN is, I think it would be really helpful to know this before I do anymore. ABCface 22:12, 1 July 2012 (UTC)

Dawnguard Rune items

Should i make new pages for them like what was done for auriels bow or should I add them to the artifacts page or perhaps somewhere else? Jpalmss (Talk | contribs)

As in the hammer, as in there is more than one? If its about them they shouldn't get there own page because an artifact is something unique in appearence with similary unique enchantments. I think it would possibly end up on the unique items page. --SamGhadiali 00:41, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Hammer, shield and war axe. I'm guessing that's all there is but I suppose it's not impossible that there's unique Dawnguard armor as well. — Unsigned comment by 38.109.30.253 (talk) at 14:28 on 3 July 2012
I'm not sure about the original question posted in this section, but to the anon above, the Dawnguard equipment (armor & weapons) is listed here. ABCface 14:59, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
The pages have now been created at Dawnguard Rune Axe, Dawnguard Rune Hammer, and Dawnguard Rune Shield. ABCface 16:16, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Quest Knots

There are new quests knots for these quests. Obviously, since the content is not out on PC yet, we cannot get high quality versions. However, I did the best I could to make them look nice. :P I uploaded them and put them in this category. - Mulsivaas 08:43, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Good work, thanks for the help. I think the dawnguard icons could be used now if others agree. RIM 10:42, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
Exactly. I could only do some much (I'm no master), but I thought they'd be okay at least until PC version came out. I mean, there are tonnes of other Xbox "screenshots" around. :) - Mulsivaas 14:17, 2 July 2012 (UTC)
There's no reason not to. I'll go ahead and add them to the pages, and when the DLC comes to PC, the files will likely be updated with better quality images. Thanks for uploading these, Mulsivaas! ABCface 16:01, 3 July 2012 (UTC)
Okay, so several quests have still not been split up into their individual faction versions, and some don't belong to either faction, so not all the Dawnguard quests have been updated with Dawnguard icons yet, but the ones which are strictly related to each faction have been updated, so it's a start. Thanks again for uploading these, Mulsivaas. ABCface 17:26, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

Legendary dragons

i've noticed that there is a new achievement on dawnguard that requires players to slay a legendary dragon, i did some research and people are saying that in order to encounter one you have to be level 70, which seems a bit unrealistic to me, as this would require the player to use any skills they would'nt normally use just to level up. No information on the new dragon breeds (revered and legendary) has ben added to the dragon page, therefore none of these rumors about which level you must be to encounter these new dragons are confirmed, does anyone have any confirmed or heavily tested info on this? JCsquared 19:25, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

In this edit, Nephele stated on the Dragon article that "Legendary Dragons only start to appear at level 78". She is the one who has accessed game files and added information to the site straight from game data for years, so I would assume that this is correct. ABCface 22:19, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

Skyrim-Dawnguard connection

Hey guys, I have been playing skyrim on both Xbox and PC and I'm wondering. If i buy or download Dawnguard for Xbox and install it, will i have to do everything in skyrim again or do i keep my character, equipment, lvl's and spells or do i lose them all. Also I'm not sure how you do the downloading of an extension pack like this on the xbox due me not having xbox life. However i did think of this as a problem before because normally no connection is needed to play skyrim. Also i have the german version of skyrim, do i have to buy the german version of dawn guard or how will this mixture of games flow? Thanks guys.

...The Xbox and PC versions of the game aren't the same....so you can't just transfer files freely between then....wha? Languange can be changed, but....wha....each system is different. ~Wyrmalla — Unsigned comment by 109.153.214.213 (talk) at 12:50 on July 8, 2012
Timo: Adding Dawnguard on top of your regular Skyrim game will not require you to start a new game to access the new content. You can buy DG in-store at most video game stores. If you have the German version of the base game, there may be compatibility issues if you try to install the English version of Dawnguard. Having the PC version of the game is irrelevant in this situation. Vely►Talk►Email 16:58, 8 July 2012 (UTC)
