Falmer & Dwemer Machines[edit]

Do the Falmer have any weaknesses? I want to be prepared before I head into Blackreach for the Elder Knowledge quest. Also, do the Dwemer machines have weaknesses? My character isn't the best fighter... Lucien LachanceDB 13:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

The Falmer do not have any weaknesses. Neither do those Dwarven machines, but they are completely resistant to frost and poison so that will be of little use. Wolok gro-Barok 14:12, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
I was wondering why my frost spells haven't been doing damage... Lucien LachanceDB 14:23, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
Machines, especially centurions, are slow and clumsy. Falmers, especially shadowmasters, are the best. They are slow too, but any mistake when running among them may be deadly. --93.73.19.163 07:37, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

You're wrong, the Sphere's are quite fast. Also, with the Falmer, the only thing you can really rely on is either a weapon that does a lot of damage very quickly and some good armour, or stealth and a bow. Their weakness is that they can't see, though their hearing is very good and unless you have quite a good sneak skill they'll be able to hear you. (I've had one hear me with a muffle enchantment, not really sure how that happened.)114.75.75.58 11:26, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Trolls: Resist Poison?[edit]

Does anyone have information about trolls' poison-resisting capacities? I got at least one message that a (frost) troll resisted a Weak Aversion to Fire poison. --JRTalk E-mail 03:28, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Looking around in the CK, I don't see anything that would cause them to resist poison. The only thing I can think of is if Skyrim doesn't stack effects, but only takes the strongest effect. If that's the case, then it would make sense that the poison would be "resisted", since it's less than their natural weakness to fire. Robin Hoodtalk 07:37, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Trolls and Mer[edit]

Is there any lore in the game about the apparent similarities between Trolls and the Mer? They both have pronounced pointed ears, and the trolls are a humanoid species that is implied to possess some rudimentary intelligence, so it seems like they might have been related at one point. Possibly a relation to Malacath in the same way as the Orsimer and Ogres? -- Haravikk 11:47, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

I don't think so, or not that I've seen anyway.114.75.75.58 11:25, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Massive Format Change[edit]

The Creatures page and related subpages have been in need of cleanup for quite a while. Certain creatures (such as Horkers) had information in three different locations, edited in three different ways and information across various articles was redundant in many ways and (even worse) contradictory in some ways as well. The Skyrim Creatures page was originally created before Skyrim was released, based on pre-released content, and was put in the summary format using the Oblivion:Creatures page as an example. Because of the inconsistencies in subpages, redundancy of information on different pages, and contradictory information on different pages, I thought it best to merge all information from various articles into appropriate sections for each creature subgroup so that the summaries are only listed in one location, and such inconsistencies can be more easily avoided in the future. These changes have already been made on the related pages.

I have now made a massive change to the format of this Creatures page, so that instead of a summary format, it is now a list format— similar to the Morrowind:Creatures page, but with slightly more detail. This way, all information can still be found via the same methods, but with better organization, and less chance of inconsistencies of information in various locations on the site. All information can still be expanded, and individual creature pages should still be made eventually as more information is added.

Please provide feedback if you feel that this change is not an improvement, or confusing in any way. Smaller (but still significant) changes have already been made to related pages, and any information which was already on this page is now linked to from this page, so no information has been lost anywhere if that is a concern. My hope is that this change will make it easier to find information in an organized and consistent way, and ensure that information is correct, to keep the site's standards high. Chaurus Classification[edit]

I believe that Chaurus should rightly be classified as Animals rather than Monsters as they are affected by Voice of the Sky whereas Monsters such as Trolls are not. --72.70.224.203 20:01, 27 February 2015 (GMT)
