Moved from article[edit]

After completing the Ancient Power and Culling The Beast side quests given to the player in Castle Volkihar, asking Feran Sadri if he needs any help will activate the quest.

I was able to get this quest without completing either of these as prerequisites. Could it be random?

One or both of the amulets become impossible to obtain due to there being no vampire to hold them.

In my case, one of the amulets was on the body of a dragon at a dragon nest. I didn't have any problems picking it up. ThuumofReason 19:27, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
What quests?

I'm not sure what you're asking about, Billy. The article previously stated that the Ancient Power and Culling The Beast had to be completed before Feran would give you the quest on this page, but Thuum removed the note because he's found it not to be true. ABCface 22:25, 24 August 2012 (UTC)

Amulets may appear on a random available corpse[edit]

When I obtained this quest, Feran sent me to Uttering Hills Cave to get the Amulet of Bats. I has already been through this dungeon for the Summerset Shadows quest. Upon arriving at the quest marker, I noticed the amulet was on the body of Linwe, the boss of the Shadows who I killed previously. When I first killed him, I looted his body clean, took everything he had on him. It seems this quest just finds a random body and and puts the amulet there, even if that person was part of a completely unrelated quest. Schiffy (talk) 20:50, 3 October 2012 (GMT)

If Amulet is given to dragon priest[edit]

In my game, the amulet of bats was given to the dragon priest at Volskygge. I had already cleared the dragon priest. I used the console to acquire the Amulet of Bats, but I need help to clear the quest. Anyone familiar with using the console to clear the quest, will attempt to clear and return if I can create the command properly. Will try "setstage DLC1RV09 100" Nope, if anyone finds the correct clearance on the console, drop a note. 97.90.227.14 06:03, 8 October 2012 (GMT)

The article says it is stage 200 to return to the Quest Giver if that is what your looking for. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 06:12, 8 October 2012 (GMT)
Thanks, I found that just now. 97.90.227.14 06:16, 8 October 2012 (GMT)

Possible prerequisite to start the quest[edit]

I have a theory that the Summon Gargoyle vampire perk is a prerequisite for this quest to start. I've been having a hard time getting Amulets of Night Power to show up in the vampire side quests cycle, it was never given to me. On a hunch, I levelled up my vampire perks and picked up Summon Gargoyle. Immediately afterwords when I tried to pick up this quest, it was available. I quick loaded to when I entered the castle and tried again, and again I was given this quest.

If a second person could confirm or deny this quest becoming available after picking up Summon Gargoyle quest, when beforehand this quest would not show up, that would be great. — Unsigned comment by 79.177.141.43 (talk) at 00:51 on 3 November 2012

I think you're right - I just now maxed out my Vampire tree, and as soon as I went back to Feran, this was the quest that he gave me. Spiegel1 (talk) 01:27, 3 November 2012 (GMT)
Someone more skilled with CSList or the CK may want to look into this, but it appears that this is the case. See game data for more info. It seems that you must have the specific perk "Summon Gargoyle" in order to receive this quest. — ABCface 17:04, 3 November 2012 (GMT)
In the CK this conditions are displayed as a SM (story manager) Script Event Node. And yes, the "Summon Gargoyle" perk is necessary for this quest to start. --Alfwyn (talk) 17:36, 3 November 2012 (GMT)
I think you're right too, I have done dozens of quests for him without the summon gargoyles spell. Still don't have it, everything is too tough to kill with the stupid blood spell. — Unsigned comment by Romandoug (talkcontribs) at 04:42 on 21 December 2012‎
Alfwyn's confirmation came from game data. It is already noted on the article as a prerequisite. — ABCface 14:08, 21 December 2012 (GMT)

Couldn't talk to Feran Sadri after retrieving the Amulets, help![edit]

i can't finish this quest and it's quite annoying. He would just say the normal dialogue if i confront him he wouldn't converse with me about the Amulet and i'm stuck with the quest.
