Focus Crystal[edit]

sorry, i dont know wiki very well so if im doing something wrong please tell me or edit this out

i want to know, since its not in the guide, what the hell the focus crystal does in sheogoraths throne room

when i left the bait mission for the xilidilian or what ever the man told me i would get a focus crystal, but it seems to do nothing

does any one know what it does?

It sits there and looks pretty. As you complete the quests in Shivering Isles' Main Quest line, various trophies get added to Sheogorath's throne room. The Focus Crystal is one of these trophies, the only one mentioned in the in-game dialogs. 72.28.170.64 18:46, 2 July 2007 (EDT)

I belive Kiliban Nyrandil's key is used to open the chest right after you get dawnfang/duskfang

The Raiders' Fates[edit]

If you choose to drive all of the adventurers insane, is that it, or can you actually find them wandering around New Sheoth? Also, when deciding the fate of the three adventurers, can you jump down into the areas that they are in, or are the gaps in the bars too small?--Merco 15:25, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

In my experience, none of the adventurers that I drove to insanity have appeared anywhere else in the Shivering Isles. Also, you are not able to jump down into the areas where the adventurers are being affected. SubtleCynicism 15:39, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
If you kill them, they well... die. If you opt to drive them insane, you can see them groveling on their knees in a large holding cage just before encountering the knights in Xedillian. It's just to the right of the passage after Kiliban gives you their equipment. --Saruuk 18:10, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

Ok, the last adventurer, the orc, he stands at the top of the stairs and does not come down to the zombie death area where I would choose his fate. I re tried it a few times and still no luck, he wont move! how do i do this? I cant leave either because the walls are blocked. please help, and I hope it is not right in front of my face what ever the problem is. :(

Is the loot you get at the end effected by your choices? --Debatra 17:02, 20 June 2008 (EDT)

grommok's journal[edit]

in grommok's journal, he mentions things like a box of money from lelle's quality mercandise he left near castle anvil. if you go looking for it, can you find it? --98.203.247.43 20:05, 21 October 2007 (EDT)

I don't know but there is a chest near the last boat on the dock starting firm the castle it is usually minor loot may contain silver quality misc. items and 3 - 2 gold could this be what your looking for??

Another time[edit]

Will there be another time to do this type of thing. like will i be able to come here again and have people try and get in? then be able to get their loot --68.81.38.129 16:26, 2 May 2008 (EDT)

You can always revisit the place again, but I believe the scripted event with these NPCs is a once off thing. --Saruuk 20:28, 2 May 2008 (EDT)

Outcome[edit]

Does the decision of this quest affect the game in anyway ?24.23.230.168 20:23, 20 May 2008 (EDT)

In short, not really. It only progresses you through the main quest. -Puddle 21:49, 20 May 2008 (EDT)
The only difference is that if you drive the NPCs mad they appear in a holding cell afterwards. If you kill them, they disappear from the game. Nothing else is affected. –RpehTCE 01:47, 21 May 2008 (EDT)

Final Loot[edit]

Is the loot you get at the end effected by your choices? --Debatra 17:02, 20 June 2008 (EDT)

No. You get exactly the same either way. –RpehTCE 17:10, 20 June 2008 (EDT)
the sword and the necklace are always given. anything else is randomly generated

No clipping?[edit]

I don't have the PC version so I can't try this, but what happens when you no clip and talk to the adventurers? Do they say anything, or just do the I HAVE NO GREETING thing? 72.202.200.145 21:45, 31 December 2008 (EST)

I just checked, and yes, it's just I HAVE NO GREETING. 71.205.167.82 00:37, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Bug?[edit]

I Get to the part where I am supposed to choose either Gnarl Swarm or Giant Gnarl. I chose Gnarl swarm but nothing happens. I have tried reloading the save and restarting the game, still no luck. I haven't tried using an older save yet but if I can fix this without doing that I would prefer to, any ideas? — Unsigned comment by 68.47.28.219 (talk) on 28 May 2009

One option could be just to choose the Giant Gnarl. I believe I had this problem as well. If that doesn't work, you must try to load a previous save. --Mr. Oblivion(T-C) 15:55, 28 May 2009 (EDT)
I tried Both, neither have worked. Also I would like to note the Giant Gnarl switch causes green gas to rise out of the grate in the center but does nothing else. — Unsigned comment by 68.47.28.219 (talk) at 16:41 on 28 May 2009
In that case, you'll probably have to back to an older save - preferably something from before you first entered that level. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 20:47, 7 June 2009 (EDT)

Gates Closing Bug[edit]

Well, I tried to verify the bug about Xedilian's gates closing after you leave and being able to simply re-open them...but I couldn't even reproduce the initial bug, much less the solution. All gates remained exactly in the state that I left them. There was no need to open or close any gates. I tried this both with and without the USIP, fast travelling afterwards, waiting 3 days. I've changed the text appropriately. If anybody can reproduce this issue, please re-instate the original bug (and send me your saved game, cuz I wanna have a look at it!) --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 21:44, 13 June 2009 (EDT)

Any real point to insane adventurers?[edit]

Just wondering if I should make them all go insane or kill them, if all they do is sit in the large cell and you can't talk to them and such, then is that all? 69.5.227.71 18:44, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

As far as I can remember (it's been a while since I ran through the Isles), it makes no difference whether you kill them or make them crazy. I take it as a chance to build up your character for yourself, decide how your character would react and which options would seem like more of a fit for your character's disposition. Role playing, y'know? --Darkle ~ Talk 20:54, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Baiting the trap cannot complete[edit]

well it says to talk to kiliban but the npc will not move. the door is locked to his quarters and the wiki says he should teleport out but he wont. i cannot get in touch with him to talk to kiliban to finish the quest. is there any fix for this?

Armor[edit]

Is it possible to take the heavy armor from the orc? 68.231.197.3 19:51, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

No. Unless you're on PC, you'll never be able to interact with the Orc directly, nor will you be able to access his corpse if you kill him using the traps. Dlarsh(T,C) 20:04, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

The Chamber of... Conversion?[edit]

Would it be worth changing the name of the Chamber of the Gnarl section? Even though Kiliban calls the first room the Chamber of the Gnarl, the Manual of Xedilian refers to it as the "Chamber of Conversion," and since Kiliban only mentions the chamber's name once, while you can tote the book around for the rest of the game, it seems to me like we should go with Conversion. Does anyone else agree? Is there anything in the CS aside from the dialog to suggest which is correct? Dlarsh(T,C) 05:27, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

I agree; I was always confused as to why we went with Kiliban's dialogue and not the actual Manual. I think Bethesda did that to make it clear what the Chamber was for. But whatever the reason, I believe that it should be called the Chamber of Conversion, since the Manual would be, in the game world, the infallible source for information on Xedilian.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 05:34, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
Fantastic, I'm not alone :) I'll let this one stew for a day in case anyone has any objections, but I doubt it will be a big deal. I'll make the change tomorrow unless someone opposes it. Dlarsh(T,C) 05:43, 19 June 2011 (UTC)

Moving[edit]

So i get into the second chamber but they dont move they just stay at the door sometimes the ork says stuff so i fly in and and they just greetings, or what? I cant continyou on (excuse me for bad grammer)

Mage adventurer does not show[edit]

After the dialogue with Kiliban in the Chamber of Gnarls/Conversion, only 2 adventurers walk in :( waited for like half an hour but the mage never showed. Anyone else with the same problem on GOTY Edition for PS3? (reloading my save does not help btw, tried it like 20 times)

Entering Xedilian's Reception Chamber before Kiliban[edit]

After stage 55. teleport out just before Kiliban does and wait a fair while in Reception before he appears. The Three Knights of Order may appear in the interim...--Lmstearn (talk) 14:10, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
