Splitting[edit]

With the proposition that this be moved to "Summons" should we also consider splitting each entry off with a (summon) suffix next to it and then transclude them onto here? It would allow us to easily record health and whatnot, but I don't know how much the health tends to vary. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 21:01, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

I would say that splitting the entries off would be wise for summons that have health pools, but it feels a tad redundant to make additional pages for those unusual ones— though the Major Adornments tab basically does this with far less information, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. Suffice to say, it would feel beneficial to give them a unique template; "Health" is weird for some of these Summons. — Ingura (talk) 07:00, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Categorization[edit]

Personally, I feel like Summons could do with more sections, like how the Major Adornments page has "headers" for a blanket type and subheaders for a more thorough account. (We should make our sub-headers anchor, though.) Some summons are temporary, others come from sets, some are persistent, and there are some summons that literally appear as a random mob event, like the Young Wasp. Giving my own idea for the breakdown: Skills for the first header and Special for the second.

Under Skills, you would have Active, for those that (usually) have a health pool and attack, and Passive or Utility, for those that do not actively participate in combat, but provide benefits to a fight. Example for Active: Sorcerer's Winged Twilight; example for Passive: Warden's Betty Netch. There may be outliers, where a Skill provides both Active and Passive, or is partially-active, but it should ultimately lean towards the more 'persistent' type— if not, you can add a Hybrid subsection for those weird fringe cases. Example for example's sake: Nightblade's Shadow Image (does damage but can be teleported to).

Under Special, you would have Sets, which are temporary summons that come from sets, and Event or Other for those that, honestly, don't have any other place but should be noted. Example for Sets: Defiler's Hunger; example for Event: Young Wasp, the random event from Giant Wasp's Inject Larva ability. The Young Wasp is a weird, highly-specific case, but it's an indirect summon and should be noted, if you ask me.

+1 for renaming it "Summons", by the way. — Ingura (talk) 07:00, 2 March 2022 (UTC)
