Condition instead of Race?[edit]

Presently, the wiki counts Draugr as their own type of non-playable technical race. However, it seems that similar to vampires or soul shriven, the draugr appearance is simply a skin and not an entirely separate race. This discussion came up at least once before, where it was decided that the character Nhalan, despite being described as a Nede, should instead be listed as draugr because he had the skin.

However, since then, we have introduced the "condition=" parameter (formerly "affliction=") to NPC infoboxes. With the addition of Murkmire, we can also see undead Ayleids that have the identical draugr skin. They are not counted as draugr since they are distinctly Ayleids, and due to their pointed ears and features, it is apparent they are wearing a skin and are not a different race. I believe all existing NPCs listed as Draugr should be changed to Nords, with their condition being listed under "condition=Draugr". The Rim of the Sky (talk) 21:42, 15 December 2018 (UTC)

I think having a separate polymorph is generally a good rule of thumb when deciding what counts as a race and what is simply a skin, but if listing draugr/undead skin as a condition simplifies our documentation of those Ayleid undead then I'm not opposed to it in principle. I think it's fair to define draugr as Nords, given their height. —Legoless (talk) 01:01, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
I support Rim of the Sky's proposal. Tib (talk) 07:41, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
I concur with their idea.--Talyyn (talk) 07:44, 16 December 2018 (UTC)
