Urgarlag Chief-bane of the Undaunted has challenged me to explore Fang Lair.

Quick Walkthrough

1. Enter Fang Lair.
2. Kill Lizabet Charnis.
3. Kill the Cadaverous Menagerie.
4. Kill Caluurion.
5. Kill Ulfnor and Sabina Cedus.
6. Kill Orryn the Black.

   You can only complete the Death Challenge in Veteran Mode.

   • Defeat Orryn the Black after reading Orryn's Notes.
7. Return to Urgarlag Chief-bane at any Undaunted Enclave.

Detailed Walkthrough

What's the pledge today?

"Some bony pit called Fang Lair. Got a ring to it. One of our Trailblazers, Yisareh, says the place has got a mess of necromancers stuck in its teeth.

How about you work out the unsightly bits with something pointy and show me a killer smile?"

And if I can handle more than that?

"Sounds like Orryn the Black is summoning something nasty. I say let him. Better yet, read his notes and help make it the meanest stack of bones to take up walking. Then grind them both to dust.

That'll prove who's the real Undaunted here."

I pledge to seek out Fang Lair and return Undaunted.

Once you have accepted the quest, you can enter the Fang Lair dungeon either by accessing the dungeon through the Dungeon Finder, or heading to Bangkorai and entering the dungeon there with a group. You have the choice of entering the normal dungeon or the veteran version, this choice will affect if you can achieve the optional step and your rewards.

When inside the dungeon, you will need to progress through the dungeon, slaying the following bosses, Lizabet Charnis, the Cadaverous Menagerie, Caluurion, Ulfnor, and Orryn the Black.^{[verification needed — can we confirm that killing the non-Orryn bosses is needed? Stage objectives only mention Orryn the Black]} With the last boss, if you are in the veteran dungeon, you have the option of reading the incantation in Orryn's Notes to put the boss in hard mode.

Once you have completed the task, you can return to Urgarlag Chief-bane at any of the Undaunted Enclaves, and speak with her to complete the quest:

"You smell like must and grave dust. Hope you showed those necromancers that death's not so pretty."

Fang Lair is free of the necromancers and their undead.

"So you say … but I don't think you're bluffing. Too much swagger in your strut.
Looks good on you."

Normal mode completed	"I'll tell Yisareh she'll need to find more than brittle bones and pasty necromancers for future pledges. They don't put up enough of a fuss. For turning Fang Lair back into a plain old graveyard. You've earned your key and your cut."
Veteran mode completed	"When I sent you to kill that lot of necromancers, I didn't expect you'd get to tangle with anything as nasty as a Dragon! Dead or not, I'm jealous. You're gonna tell me all about it over drinks sometime. Take your key and cut, Dragon Slayer."
Veteran Hard Mode completed	"I don't think it gets better than letting a schemer finish their master plan to perfection, then kicking the whole thing over! Did he cry? Haha! For killing Orryn the Black and smashing his pet Thurvokun to pieces, you've earned your key and cut!"

• Prior to Update 41, completing this quest with Normal or Veteran mode would award 1 Undaunted Key, and 2 Keys on Veteran Hard Mode.
