Revealing Flare
Revealing Flare: Cost: [5400 / 5310 / 5220 / 5130] Magicka.
Launch a blinding flare, revealing stealthed and invisible enemies in the target area for 5 seconds. Exposed enemies cannot return to stealth or invisibility for 4 seconds. While slotted you gain Major Protection, reducing your damage taken by 10%.
Lingering Flare: Duration: [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] seconds.
Launch a blinding flare, revealing stealthed and invisible enemies in the target area for [7 / 8 / 9 / 10] seconds. Exposed enemies cannot return to stealth or invisibility for 4 seconds. While slotted you gain Major Protection, reducing your damage taken by 10%.
Blinding Flare: Launch a blinding flare, revealing stealthed and invisible enemies in the target area for 5 seconds. Exposed enemies are stunned for [2 / 2.7 / 3.3 / 4] seconds, and cannot return to stealth or invisibility for 4 seconds. While slotted you gain Major Protection, reducing your damage taken by 10%.

Revealing Flare exposes all stealthed or invisible enemies in the area, preventing them from returning to stealth for 4 seconds. It also passively reduces your damage taken while slotted. The Lingering Flare stays around for up to 10 seconds, revealing any stealthed or invisible enemies who enter the area even after casting, while Blinding Flare also Stuns any revealed enemies.

Notes[edit]

  • This ability was added to the game in Update 6.
  • Very few enemies outside of Cyrodiil make much use of stealth, so this spell is not very useful in other zones. Note however that it is not only other players in Cyrodiil that use stealth - NPC enemies in Cyrodiil also use stealth far more than enemies in other locations.
  • Prior to Update 23, Blinding Flare was known as Scorching Flare and did Fire Damage instead of stunning enemies.

Patch Notes[edit]

  • Revealing Flare (new ability)
    • This new ability will cast a projectile to travel to a specified location, which will reveal all enemies within 10 meters.
    • Lingering Flare (morph): The area of effect will persist for 4 seconds after the ability is cast.
    • Scorching Flare (morph): Using this ability will place a damage over time on any revealed enemies.
  • Increased the travel speed of this ability's projectile, and reduced the cost of the ability by approximately 15%.
  • Scorching Flare (morph): Increased the damage of this ability by 125%.
  • This ability and its morphs now snare any enemy revealed from stealth or invisibility by 50% for 3 seconds.
  • Reduced the time this ability and its morphs prevent a revealed enemy from returning to stealth or invisibility to 3 seconds from 8 seconds.
  • Reduced the cost of this ability and its morphs by 50%.
  • Adjusted this ability to behave more closely to other reveals, such as Magelight or Expert Hunter.
  • The flare now lingers in the area where cast for 5 seconds, rather than being instantaneous.
  • Increased the base cost to 5400 from 1889, which ranks down to 5130.
  • Lingering Flare: This ability now lasts 7 seconds, down from 8, and ranks up in duration to 10 seconds at Rank IV.
  • Scorching Flare:
    • Renamed this ability to Blinding Flare.
    • This ability no longer damages enemies revealed, but now stuns revealed enemies for 2 seconds, which ranks up to 4 seconds at Rank IV.
  • This ability and its morphs now prevent stealth and invisibility for 4 seconds, up from 3 seconds.
  • This ability and its morphs now passively grant Major Protection while slotted to ensure they do not feel lackluster to slot when not actively trying to deny stealth or invisibility, similarly to Magelight or Expert Hunter granting Major buffs.
