Missing Name Item[edit]

Sometimes, Luther's warhammer will disappear after his death and be replaced by a <missing name> item. This is similar to the PonderItem carried by Delphine Jend in the Mage's guild.

The above text was recently added to the page, but I am unable to reproduce it in multiple attempts under different circumstances. It should probably be reproducible, or at least commonly seen in random tests, before we add it to the page. If more information can be provided about the circumstances this occurs under, that would be helpful. Robin HoodTalk 16:25, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

After 20 tests this didnt happen once, maybe it was a one-off Mikeyboy52 16:45, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
That's what I'm thinking, though sometimes these things only occur under very specific circumstances. Could also be a badly-behaved mod. Robin HoodTalk 17:09, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Traveling[edit]

I'm on the 360, & I actually ran into Luther in Skingrad, right outside the castle entrance. Talking to him, "Bed" was one of the options, even though he wasn't in Imperial City. I followed him from the castle, down the hill, & through the east gate. He then walked past Rosethorn Hall, the statue, and the West Weald Inn. He then walked east in the "ditch" between the two halves of the city, and exited through the other eastern gate at ground level & back to Imperial City. It was about 10 pmish I first ran into him, & it took him until morning to walk back to Imperial City. I think this occurred on the 20th day of the month (one of the later months of the year), because I found Thamriel's body on the way. Anyone else seen Luther travel?--149.160.118.185 18:28, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

You must be mistaken. He never even leaves his inn, let alone walk to Skingrad. It might have been a one-off bug, but I wrote his schedule and he only has two AI packages: stand behind the counter, and the usual MQ16 martial law. Legoless 18:53, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Well, I know I didn't imagine it, so it must've been a bug.--149.160.118.185 20:05, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, more and more examples pop up about innkeepers showing up outside dungeons. It could be something along the lines of the Desolate Mine FG team, but I have just tested it with Luther and no luck - can you remember EXACTLY what you did before meeting Luther in Skingrad? --Krusty 20:11, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I don't remember EXACTLY what I did, as far as particular actions I took, but it occurred during the Mages Guild questline--either right before or after I did Ulterior Motives. I was 14th or 15th level, & I saw him on the 20th of either Sun's height or Last Seed, IIRC. The Desolate Mine team was also outside the castle at the time, on the bridge (of course, they almost always show up outside town castles in my game, anyway).--149.160.118.185 23:18, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
This seems to be a general problem caused by NPCs following the player, even briefly. Something similar is happening here and here. Service NPCs will follow the player as long as he's in their store and it seems as if they fast travel along with you if they're following at the instant you go. In other words, if you fast travel the instant you leave their shop, they might follow. That's my guess anyway. If this can be checked and verified it'll be worth including on the Glitches page. rpeh •TCE 06:56, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
