The Siren's Deception[edit]

ok How is he involved? and How is that possibly helpful?--Most Honored Listener 01:43, 21 July 2007 (EDT)

It says how he's involved right on the page. I think it's meant more for accuracy than for being helpful. --Eshe 01:49, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
An edit I made was reverted saying that that fact is Very important and I am wondering how that is anymore helpful than Beggars being related in quests for the Thieves Guild.--Most Honored Listener 01:55, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
Ummm, sorry, I'm not sure where you're getting that the information was described as "very important". My edit summary was "Restoring information about Siren's Deception: contains correct and useful information". The link to Siren's Deception clearly states exactly what the connection is, so I don't see that any readers are going to get confused by having the link there. And the information I restored also explains that Pinarus won't take back the stolen goods, which some readers might appreciate knowing instead of spending time trying to figure out how they are supposed to return the stolen goods. --NepheleTalk 02:12, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
I see but I personally feel it would be much less confusing if that was just a side not rather than have it been under related quests and have the related quests field reserved for NPCs that actually have something to do with the quest and progressing with it.--Most Honored Listener 02:28, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
He's obviously involved. In the basement of Gweden farm there's an item called Pinarus' Cuirass. It's basically an iron cuirass that he won't take back, which leads the player to believe he's involved with the Sirens. — Unsigned comment by 24.233.128.66 (talk) at 19:30 on 25 September 2009
It's true that he might have been involved with the sirens, but since his cuirass represents his only involvement in the quest, he doesn't qualify for a "related quests"-link. Krusty 22:57, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Boots?[edit]

I went to his house at 1:40 in the morning. Two things odd. 1. The door was not locked and entering was not trespassing (i.e. door icon not red, could wait inside). 2. He was asleep in bed, wearing Daedric Boots. What's up with that? — Unsigned comment by 24.174.163.173 (talk) on 7 September 2008

What's the problem? He wears leveled heavy armor and evidently didn't take his boots off. –RpehTCE 04:05, 7 September 2008 (EDT)

Required Disposition for Marksman Master Training Recommendation[edit]

I spent quite a bit of time trial-and-error checking on this and I am certain that the threshold is reached at exactly 80 disposition. Likewise for Reman Broder. Ulthripe talk 11:20, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Good work! AND, if you know of any other advanced trainers with the same "requirements", you're more than welcome to edit their pages as well. Krusty 13:09, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

NPC behavior during A Rat Problem[edit]

Not really sure if this is worth noting, but.. I've noticed that since he completely drops his normal NPC programming during A Rat Problem, if you rush ahead of him before he leaves Anvil, kill the Starving Mountain Lions, and come back to Anvil and talk to him to get the next quest update, he'll stick to his programming for A Rat Problem, even after you've finished the quest.

This means that every time you go to Anvil you'll find him standing in the last place you left him, not moving until you get close enough to him for him to notice you. Then he'll continue on towards where the Starving Mountain Lions were, again, stopping if you get too far away. Once he arrives at the location, he'll walk up to it, stop, then turn around and walk up to start a conversation with you. Once you exit this conversation, he will resume his normal programming.

Not really a bug, but it might be useful if you want to steal something from him or kill him.

Nice observation. Just tested this and it is indeed true. While we have tested this small bug for other reasons in the past, I just found an important consequence to the bug - and that is his lack of training until he has reached the spot where the mountain lions used to be. So, if you run ahead of him and he ends up standing still in Anvil, he will not offer services until you have followed him to the lion spot, regardless of the quest being active or completed. This is noteworthy to avoid confusion, but I will do some more testing before adding a bug note to his page. --Krusty 08:10, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Why's he in Bruma?[edit]

A Rat Problem was the very first quest i took aside from Deliver the Amulet. however, after taking the quest, Pinarus suddenly warped to Bruma, where i found him in front of the statue. following him outside of the city gates allowed me to fast travel and wait for him to show up in anvil again. can anyone confirm (360) if this is a glitch or an isolated incident? Arcanus Redwolf 20:35, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Can anyone else confirm or deny?[edit]

His front door is always locked and his back door is always open, both the same at all times of the day. I assume this was a mistake and would qualify as a bug, albeit an unimportant one.--Catmaniac66 19:30, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Pinarus in the Imperial City?[edit]

File:Pinarus Inventius in Imperial City.jpg

What's up with this? Brenman94 14:04, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

I imagine you mean "How did this happen?" I'm guessing you fast-traveled during the Rat Problem quest where Pinarus is escorting you to the lions. If not, then it's just another case of Stuff Happens with NPC AI. rpeh •TCE 14:14, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Switch back to old image?[edit]

The graphics in the old image are of stunningly higher quality then the current one. — Unsigned comment by 75.134.211.92 (talk) at 20:18 on 11 December 2012

There does seem to be a small difference in quality between the images. However, returning to the first one is out of the question, it doesn't meet the guidelines for displaying an NPC, mainly a full body shot. A new shot would be required, which you could take yourself, if you use a PC, or by requesting one by adding the {{cleanimage|other=your reasoning}} tag to the file page. Inventory icons bugged?[edit]

I set him non-essential and killed him. Obviously this isn't meant to happen, but I was surprised to see a pair of breeches and a shirt with suspenders in his inventory, both of which have strange, bugged icons displaing sort of a matrix of colored pixels. Not sure if this is noteworthy but I've never see it before. 82.13.252.145 23:27, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
