Disputed Statement: Tiber Septim[edit]

Are you sure that Tiber Septim is running from assassins, and not Uriel Septim? --Aristeo 19:04, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

Needs Proper Tone[edit]

Please give this proper tone and place it back on the main article. This needs to identify the reader, and should not be in first person.

One thing that originally caused me to think the game did not work -- there is silence and you can't move or do anything for about 1 minute (I thought the game was locked up and only after giving up several times did I accidentally continue my old game and wait long enough to see what was happening. After that finally the emperor and his guards will arrive on screen and the game starts.

Thanks! --Aristeo 19:04, 25 October 2006 (EDT)

PSP[edit]

From what I can see, this sounds like the same version that has been announced for PSP, so I've added a line to the infobox about PSP. If anyone has more detailed information on this game, please update the page accordingly. --Nephele 12:15, 2 March 2007 (EST)

OK, did some more research today and comparing what Bethesda shows on their site about Oblivion Mobile to what is being previewed for the PSP version, they seem to be different. So separating PSP off to its own page, Oblivion (PSP). --NepheleTalk 12:34, 20 April 2007 (EDT)

Oblivion[edit]

So this is the Phone byproduct of Oblivion, not a seperate game, correct? If it is the phone version, I have it.-Puddle 19:27, 11 May 2008 (EDT)

How and where did you get it? I've not been ably to find any info on the web as to where I can buy it ... neither the official site, not the vir2l site seem to have any information. Bonsai nine 12:55, 7 June 2008 (EDT)

Can You Get This On Iphone[edit]

can you get this on any of apple products like the iphone or ipad?? — Unsigned comment by Thedrunknord (talkcontribs) at 19:24 on 3 November 2010

I'm afraid not. All the Elder Scrolls Travels games were developed in the mid-90's and, even if you somehow managed to transfer Oblivion Mobile (or the other games in the series) to your iPhone, the touch-screen display would give you a huge amount of trouble - because the games were designed for push- and directional buttons - at least that's my theory. --Krusty 07:28, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Quest Names[edit]

Before moving the OBMobile quests from sandbox, a little consensus on quest names should be in order.

Oblivion Mobile doesn't have a quest log with Offical quest names, so the names I have used for quests are titles I've made up myself. This is similar to the misc. quests in Oblivion and Morrowind where there are no formal titles. I also imagine the quest names for shadowkey and arena are of a similar nature.

Being basically the same storyline as Oblivion, a number of the quests in OBM are basically the same as in Oblivion, but I was reluctant to give them the same names becuase there might be confusion. Also, some of the quests in OBM follow the line of several oblivion quests together.

Here's a summary of all the quest names I've used and equivalent Oblivion quest names:

Proposed name used for OBMobile Name of "same" quest in Oblivion
Prison Break Tutorial
The Illegitimate Son Find the Heir/Breaking the Siege of Kvatch
Recover the Amulet The Path of Dawn/Dagon Shrine
Hunter Hunted Spies
By Azura, by Azura Blood of the Daedra
Sancre Tor (quest) Blood of the Divines
The Great Welkyard Stone Miscarcand
Belly of the Beast Defense of Bruma/Great Gate
Paradise Lost Paradise
<not sure yet> Light the Dragonfires
A Town Terrified No Equivalent
Daedroth in Kvatch No Equivalent
Commander in Chief No Equivalent
The Troll King No Equivalent

Everyones thoughts are welcome. RaidensTechSupp 03:31, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Unless there's a way for us to access the actual files and see the names used in the software (if there are any), I'm perfectly fine with appropriately-named though made-up quest titles. I'd also, however, have no problem with the quests being named the same as they are in Oblivion, especially for the ones that are comparable to a single Oblivion quest. And, by the way, it should be "Welkynd", not "Welkyard", unless it's actually misspelled in the game (in which case we would still need to decide whether to use the obviously-incorrect in-game name or not). Oh, and if we decide quest names different from the Oblivion quests are better, I'd suggest simply "Dragonfires" for the quest that's comparable to "Light the Dragonfires". --GKtalk2me 04:26, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
It's definitely "Welkynd" and not "Welkyard". I think I'd prefer to use the Oblivion names rather than invent new ones (except for the bottom four). Your names are good ones, though, if people want to go that way. rpeh •TCE 08:09, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
So perhaps we should keep the made up names for thoses quests that are the equilvalent of multiple oblivion quests and non-oblivion quests and adopt the oblivion names for the rest? Something like this:
  1. Escape From Prison
  2. The Illegitimate Son
  3. Recover the Amulet
  4. Spies
  5. Blood of the Daedra
  6. Blood of the Divines
  7. Miscarcand
  8. The Great Gate
  9. Paradise
  10. Light the Dragonfires
  11. A Town Terrified
  12. Daedroth in Kvatch
  13. Commander in Chief
  14. The Troll King

As for the Welkynd stone spelling. I recall copying the characters letter by letter from the game, so I presume it is spelt wrong in OBM. I'll double check that though when I next reach that quest. RaidensTechSupp 03:06, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Actually, scratch that one. It is spelt "Welkynd" in the game. I also unzipped the .jar file. The quests are labelled as Lv 1- 14 in the games files. No formal names unfortunately. RaidensTechSupp 07:39, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Those look good. I should have said - I looked in the .jar file myself to come to the conclusion it was spelled "Welkynd". rpeh •TCE 10:20, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Effects on Lore[edit]

With the recent addition of all the new articles, I feel I should bring this question up. Are the events in Oblivion Mobile lore? The main quest seems to be different than Oblivion's. (Great Gate inside a house in Bruma, Martin in the Kvatch Gate, etc.) While I'm sure most of these differences aren't important on a "lore-scale", I'm wondering if we completely disregard everything in this game. Are things like Daedroth sacs and mana ice real ingredients? Should Ayleid Spirits and Troll Kings get added to the bestiary? Will the depictions of important characters (low quality as they are) get added to their lore section, similar to the Daedric Princes articles? The list goes on. Legoless 15:21, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Judging by the way all the mobile games have been dropped from the elderscrolls.com site, I think it's safe to say that Bethesda aren't particularly interested in the mobile games. I don't think we can ignore the lore from them totally, but if there's a conflict, priority should go to the major game rather than the mobile version. rpeh •TCE 00:12, 28 February 2011 (UTC)
I agree. When the details differ, the console game should be considered canon, but anything that doesn't conflict should be treated as we normally would. I'd say yes to the ingredients, and I don't have a problem with the images being added, though I don't think it's necessarily needed. --GKtalk2me 19:14, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Platforms[edit]

I'd like to know the exact mobile devices that someone would be able to buy these games on. — Unsigned comment by The-Reoccuring-joke (talkcontribs) at 16:51 on 16 December 2015 (UTC)

I don't think you can buy them any more. I imagine most Java-enabled cellphones of the era could run it, since devices with lower specs would be able to buy watered-down versions of the game. —Legoless (talk) 18:38, 16 December 2015 (UTC)
