Staff of Magnus in Arena[edit]

"Now listen carefully. Just before the Sorceror-King Magnus died, he trusted the only map to the location of the Staff of Magnus to the Blades, a secret society of warriors. I heard that one of their number sought the map that led to the Staff's current location. He journeyed to a place called the <Random Location>, in the Elsweyr province, but never returned. I would never dare to go where a Bladesman met his end, but somewhere in that dungeon is the map to the location of the Staff of Magnus. For the money you've paid, you obviously think better of your chances. I wish you luck in your quest. I've inscribed its location onto your map of the continent. Good luck. I wish you well..." This is what is said during the quest for the Staff of Magnus in Arena. It doesn't seem to match very well with the lore already listed tho. I think Magnus fled Mundus a long time before the Blades are created. I also don't think Magnus is dead... or is he? Unless of course "Sorceror-King Magnus" is a different Magnus. — Kimi the Elf (talk | contribs) 05:46, 9 April 2013 (GMT)

Keep in mind that Arena was written long before lore was truly cemented as it is now.Zebendal (talk) 23:50, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

Morokei[edit]

How did Morokei come into possession of the Staff? It's implied he was awake well before the other priests, due to fighting and being sealed in Labyrinthian by Savos Aren well before the events of Skyrim, so he wasn't recently awakened. Could he have waltzed(well, floated) into Morrowind to capture the staff? That's a scary thought. 172.12.96.55 04:28, 1 October 2014 (GMT)

I think, since Labrynthian is famous as a gauntlet for potential Archmages, the most likely scenario is that the eventual owner of the Staff went there to test his might, but either encountered or awoke Morokei and was defeated. -- Hargrimm(T) 13:35, 1 October 2014 (GMT)
