Original Research[edit]

  • 36 Lessons of Vivec, Sermon 22 makes reference to a "rose-worn prince" of House Mora who became a hero during their war with the "northern demons". If the war with the "northern demons" is assumed to be the 1E 416 war against the Nords, this may be referring to Moraelyn, as the Ra'athim clan was part of House Mora during this time period, and King Edward describes some of Moraelyn's clothing and weaponry as being adorned with roses.

I want to add that as a note. Yay, nay? Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 04:58, 12 February 2014 (GMT)

Sounds reasonable to me, considering the multiple specific references to Moraelyn's flower motif in King Edward and his particular notability in war against the Nords. -- Hargrimm(T) 18:54, 12 February 2014 (GMT)
I think it is reasonable as it is, but I just want to make explicit that I'm intentionally omitting further speculation on the matter. If it's added, someone may eventually want to revise it to speculate further, and I don't want to build a house of cards. Sermon 22 goes on to apparently suggest that Vivec had the Morag Tong assassinate the rose-worn prince, if I'm interpreting it correctly. But there are no other sources on how Moraelyn died, and interpreting the Lessons is so prone to error that I would rather leave further speculation out of it and let readers edify themselves on further details, if they care. Was he a Dunmer?[edit]

If the droving of the Nords out of Ebonheart is assumed to be the 1E 416 war against the Nords, and before the War of the First Council Velothi were still Chimer. Yeah, in "King Edward" he is described as a dark elf, but it was written long before the introduction of the Chimer in the lore. So, aren't he, his father, brothers, and aunt technically Chimer?

One counter narrative is the idea that the Chimer became Dunmer during the exodus when Boethia made the velothis skin "color of bruise" Obviously there is a lot more weight to the idea that this is bunk and that the Azura curse narrative is the only correct one. Just pointing out an out of sorts for the inconsistency here with Moraelyns stated race. Dcking20 (talk) 02:15, 16 December 2022 (UTC)
