The Cervant Truce was a peace treaty that ended the preceding Four-Score War between the Empire and Morrowind in 1E 2920. The treaty was signed on the 8th of Evening Star by Akaviri Potentate Versidue-Shaie and Vivec in the villa of Lord Glavius in Caer Suvio.[1]

Although peace between the Empire and Morrowind had already been agreed by Emperor Reman III, including the signing at the Imperial Palace followed by a grand ball to commemorate, he didn't live long enough to see it through. Several days prior, Reman III was assassinated by a Morag Tong assassin in the Imperial City. Curiously, some sources claim it was Reman's own Potentate and trusted advisor, Versidue-Shaie, who ordered his assassination before he took control of the Empire.[1] As a result, Morrowind remained the only Tamrielic nation independent of the Second Empire until its collapse in 2E 430.[2][3] The treaty also was said to have suppressed the private armies of the Imperial nobility.[4]
