Possible Bug[edit]

I have Dawnguard and Hearthfire installed on the PC. I was playing on Legendary. I returned from Loud and Clear at Goldenglow Estate to find the Cistern's Treasury Room door unlocked and open. Naturally I went in and looked at all of the opened empty chests and picked up some small items. I exited and confirmed that Mercer Frey was still there leaning over his desk doing whatever it is he does. So the next day I log onto the game and the door is still unlocked and opened. Has this happened to anyone else or is this a one-off error perhaps due to an incorrectly recorded bit in the .esm file? If the latter is the case, I don't want to add a bug note, but if not then one might be in order should it interfere with the confrontation scene wherein the guild learns of their being ripped off. Is this anomaly noted elsewhere and I've just missed it? Kalevala (talk) 20:23, 6 January 2014 (GMT)

Confirming I've noticed the same thing with the vaults being open. Hopefully someone will look into this. Ikarigullwing (talk) 22:06, 10 January 2014 (GMT)
Sounds like a bug. IIRC, the vault isn't supposed to be opened until the quest Loud and Clear. Even if it doesn't interfere with quest progression, I think it's still notable in the Bugs section. --Xyzzy Talk 05:48, 11 January 2014 (GMT)
Latest info: If you allow the Cistern to re-spawn, the door shows up closed. So it appears to be a self healing oddity. So I cannot say how things would play out if you did not allow a re-spawn. Kalevala (talk) 22:52, 14 January 2014 (GMT)
I can say that if no re-spawn occurs, then as the second thieves guild member inserts his key into the clear open space a pair of doors appear and open. Again the problem heals itself. Kalevala (talk) 01:42, 31 October 2014 (GMT)

Locked Door[edit]

There is a locked door behind the Guild Master's desk, but I cannot find anywhere on the wiki information as to what it is for or how it is unlocked. I'm not currently far enough through the Thieves Guild questline to answer these questions myself.--draagyn (talk) 21:41, 5 March 2014 (GMT)

Just keep following the questline—you'll get there in The Pursuit. Also, for future reference, this kind of question is probably better suited to Googling or asking in our {{Forums}}. Robin Hood  (talk) 22:15, 5 March 2014 (GMT)
Thanks. I missed that in skimming through the quests to find out about it. As for Googling or asking in the {{Forums}}, my reason for bringing it up was not so much for casual knowledge, but to point out that there is a whole section/room in this location that is not even mentioned on this page. Even with the mention during The Pursuit, there is no information about what is contained in the room. Wouldn't it be appropriate for that information to be on this page?--draagyn (talk) 22:52, 5 March 2014 (GMT)
In that case, asking here was entirely appropriate, and yes, it should be added. Feel free to take a stab at it if you'd like. There's actually nothing notable in the room itself, so I suspect a line that just points to the quest itself would be sufficient. Robin Hood  (talk) 22:58, 5 March 2014 (GMT)
Done. Thanks again for the input.--draagyn (talk) 23:11, 5 March 2014 (GMT)

Map at bottom of page is incorrect[edit]

Both the in-game HUD and the in-game map show the north direction coinciding with the lower left of this map jpg. The map should be rotated (about 135 degrees clockwise) so that the north is to the top. That is the standard set by SartheArai and those working on the maps project. Inaccessible documents under end-table[edit]

To the right of the exit leading to the graveyard, there is an end-table with two notes. It may be a mod, but for me they are directly under the end-table, inaccessible even to telekinesis. Using console commands, I've found they are the "Goldenglow" and "Possible Rivals" notes both addressed to Brynjolf. 73.53.127.75 05:08, 3 March 2015 (GMT)

Entering the Cistern without joining the Guild[edit]

I was able to enter the Cistern by engaging the guild members in the Ragged Flagon in combat. When I stood close to the cupboard with the hidden door, Vex moved to my side and opened the door to get behind me. Can we change the line about not being able to enter without joining? — Unsigned comment by 31.151.11.118 (talk) at 12:45 on 11 November 2017 (UTC)

I may be late, but I can confirm it for the Switch version. White Lightning (talk) 20:25, 19 October 2019 (GMT)

Stolen items PRIDs[edit]

Since items not in the main thieves guild questline that go on the guildmaster's shelving aren't listed, any chance of someone finding them out and posting them on this page or their corresponding pages? I can get it started with the Ornate Drinking Horn being 000E8F00, the Jeweled Goblet being 000E8F02, the Golden Urn being 000E8F03, and the Jeweled Candlestick being 000E8EFF. I inquire simply because 2 of the items that I have stolen for Vex have not shown up and I would like to be able to enable/recycleactor concole commands on them to make them properly appear. 73.167.162.83 18:45, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
