Bug: asked to leave[edit]

Recently I've been unable to sleep in the Hall of Attainment as some message pops up saying I can't sleep while being asked to leave (even though no NPC did actually ask me to leave). The same also happens on the Hall of Countenance. I do not know what triggers this bug.

Can anyone confirm, or try and test what actually triggers the bug? I did put some items on the wardrobe in my room and got them back, but I think I had already done that before without getting the glitch. 201.86.152.200 17:15, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

I've played thru the game about 5 times. Two times this same thing happened to me. The this latest time the NPC asking me to leave is one of the fellow college mages named Onmund. I had not handed over the dragon stone to the Whiterun people, had joined thieves guild, dark brotherhood, College of Winterhold, companions of Whiterun, Dawnguard vampire hunters, and had the Riverwood Faendal guy as my follower, had ridden my horse up the narrow college pathway right to the door of the Hall of Attainment before getting off, going into the hall then putting some heavy weighted stuff into my room's cupboards. I had just retrieved for that goofy NPC the staff that Enthir wanted in exchange for Onmund's amulet. I gave Enthir the staff who then gave me the amulet that I, in turn, gave to Onmund who thanked me and became a potential follower. I had Serana with me as well since I had not returned her to her father yet. I had also stolen the staff in the Frozen Hearth pub and given it to the steward guy who worked for the Jarl in the great hall and who had wanted to claim he had magical powers. I do not believe that I had been caught, nor issued any bounty. As a companion member of the circle I had been made into a werewolf. I also had obtained the cursed ring of Hercine, but cannot remember if I had at that time gotten it to be uncursed? None of my followers have died.
I have not found a way to work around this bug, but after the main quest proceeds, the problem may go away? 174.89.128.123 23:06, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
I had also visited Solstheim and read the following 2 Black Books before dragons were spawning everywhere (making things more difficult) triggered by the delivery of the Dragon Stone to the Whiterun people: The Sallow Regent from White Ridge Barrow, and The Winds Of Change from Raven Rock Mine. I happened to get the spell book for Flame Thrall conjuration while inside one of these two black books, and could have had such a Flame Thrall activated while entering the Hall of Attainment while Onmund was there to see such a vile display of conjuration that is frowned upon by the Nords. I wanted to gain about 10% better enchantments, so chose the option of Seeker of Sorcery, and also chose to "learn more from reading skill books" instead of protecting my followers from harm as one of the other two options.
The update I have is that I returned Serana to her castle home, delivered the Dragon Stone to the Whiterun people, and became the College Arch Mage by eliminating Ancano via The Staff of Magnus to continue the quest lines along, and THE BUG STILL PERSISTS. I still get Cannot wait while being asked to leave, and cannot sleep while being asked to leave--even after having the offending NPC, Onmund, as a follower for quite a number of exciting quests. It seems that you have to revert back to a prior save and not have Onmund have a bad attitude / Disposition toward you or things that you have done. I had Serana with me, was a werewolf, and had a Flame Thrall with me, and you cannot help to avoid the Saarthal offense of uncovering the The Eye of Magnus--all bad things according to Onmund's gentile sensibilities? 174.89.128.123 17:09, 12 March 2017 (UTC) Edited 174.89.128.123 22:09, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

No "Rested" Perk from Player Bed[edit]

Can anyone confirm before I add it to the notes? I never tried sleeping here on the plain vanilla version and now I have the Legendary Edition with all three DLC's loaded. Thanks! Philbert (talk) 01:44, 6 February 2015 (GMT)

Never mind - I had the Lovers Stone active. SorryPhilbert (talk) 01:48, 6 February 2015 (GMT)
