Chest Contents[edit]

Don't list the contents of that expert chest in the ruined tower, its random and leveled thus the loot will be different for everyone. 71.194.252.170 00:18, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

Should someone remove that list then?Trevor1324 14:35, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
I don't think there's anything specific left in the description for that chest at this point. Did I miss something? Robin Hoodtalk 19:42, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

A Dance in Fire v2[edit]

I can't find it anywhere. Where exactly is it? The article says it's in the same room with the crafting facilities, but I went through every book case there and had no success. I only found 2 copies of v4. --Coxis (talk) 03:06, 5 December 2013 (GMT)

It's on the very first table (the one with the key and note), right after you open the door. You can't miss it. If you can't find it there it either got displaced or eating by the ground. --S'drassaYes? 04:37, 5 December 2013 (GMT)
Is the "cleared" status for this fort bugged? I think I know what happened... I had already been here before and looted it, but the fort never changed to "Cleared". This time around it didn't either. I made sure to kill everyone, even the boss necromancer. --Coxis (talk) 03:42, 7 December 2013 (GMT)
The forts that are part of the Civil War quests don't appear to be clearable, so I don't think it's a bug. Lobsel Vith (talk) 17:27, 16 March 2014 (GMT)

Outdoor pressure plate.[edit]

There's a pressure plate outdoors, does anyone know what this triggers?--RumblePen (talk) 06:33, 20 April 2014 (GMT)

Nothing, I've stepped on it and checked. Vicano (talk) 20:06, 14 May 2014 (GMT)

Collision markers in the forge area[edit]

I noticed this while adding quartermasters to the forts in the CK - all the equipment in the smithy in the courtyard is surrounded by collision boxes which are enabled whenever the fort is cleared of necromancers. I can't recall ever trying to use the smithing equipment there, does anyone know what purpose they serve? Vicano (talk) 20:06, 14 May 2014 (GMT)

Necromancers during the War[edit]

I have sided with the Imperials during the Civil War questline, and I have gone to the peace consul and traded Riften for Markarth, then proceeded with the quest after Alduin was dead and conquered Fort Dunstad. On my way back to report to General Tullius, I passed by Fort Snowhawk and it was still occupied by necromancers instead of Imperial soldiers. Is there anyway to fix this or is the only way to trade it during the peace meeting then take it back? 71.171.112.31 04:03, 26 September 2014 (GMT)

Each of the forts in Skyrim start off occupied by bandits, necromancers or Forsworn. Fort Snowhawk is the fort for Hjaalmarch, not The Reach. Imperial soldiers will occupy the fort if you clear it yourself. 31.53.59.127 10:20, 26 September 2014 (GMT)
First off, I never said Snowhawk was part of the Reach. I said I pasted by it on my way to Solitude. I am fully aware it is the fort for Hjaalmarch. Secondly, I have cleared the fort before. It is still populated by necromancers despite the Civil War going on and having killed all enemies on a previous visit. Third, this is not the only fort having this issue. Forts Neugrad and Hraggstad are still occupied by bandits. Fort Sungard was still occupied by Forsworn even though I had cleared the place of enemies twice, and is only now occupied by Stormcloak soldiers due to it being traded in Season Unending. The only forts properly occupied by Imperial troops are Fort Greymoor(Whiterun), Fort Greenwall(because I traded the Rift), and Fort Dunstad(which I just finished conquering). It seems to me that when the Civil War questline started and I sided with the Empire, all forts you are suppose to conquer got occupied by Stormcloaks, but all forts under Imperial controlled Holds are still occupied by enemy factions. 71.171.112.31 22:07, 26 September 2014 (GMT)
All of that is entirely logical, the forts are only occupied when one side takes the hold from the current occupiers. The only exceptions are during a quest to take a fort, then it is occupied by troops from the defending side. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 20:28, 2 October 2014 (GMT)
However, having sided with the Empire, all holds held by the Stormcloaks at the beginning of the Civil War questline have their forts occupied by Stormcloaks. All holds held by the Imperials at the beginning of the Civil War questline have their forts held by enemy factions. The only exception is Fort Greymoor(Whiterun) after defending the city of Whiterun. It seems that in order for me to have the forts occupied by Imperials troops, they have to be conquered. So, after doing Season Unending and trading Markarth for Riften, when I complete the Civil War the only forts that will be occupied by Imperial soldiers are Dunstad(the Pale), Greenwall(the Rift), Kastav(Winterhold), Greymoor(Whiterun), Sungard(the Reach), and Amol(Eastmarch). Forts Neugrad(Falkreath), Snowhawk(Hjaalmarch), and Hraggstad(Haafingar) will still be occupied by enemy factions rather than troops. 71.171.112.31 21:51, 2 October 2014 (GMT)
I cannot see any scripts that all the Forts have in common, even the Civil War quest isn't common to all (Greymoor), so trying to find the one responsible for setting who occupies the Fort is hard. CWGarrisonEnableMarker[Sons/Imperial/Monster]Fort[...] (e.g. CWGarrisonEnableMarkerMonsterFortSnowhawk) appears to be the culprit but isn't there on every Fort, including ones that change hands properly. As you haven't tested this from a Stormcloak pov, you cannot definitively say it is 'impossible' to occupy a Fort with Civil War troops. You have given a better understanding of this, with the case being that only Stormcloak occupied forts are occupied by Imperial forces, while others are not (excepting Whiterun's). This to me isn't a bug, as the forts have a stated usefulness in their position for taking over a hold, with Rikke saying before each battle "Once you prevail we will garrison the fort." While leaving the other forts ungarrisoned seems a tactical mistake, they could equally be relying on the bandits occupying those forts to do their job for them leaving the military troops available for other tasks. I was under the impression when I read the wiki pages that all forts would become occupied with appropriate troops once the Civil War questline had at least reached the Jagged Crown quest. So by the end of the questline, all forts used in the Civil War would be occupied by one force(Imperials or Stormcloaks). I don't enjoy walking by Snowhawk(which is on a main road) and having to deal with Necromancers or tiptoe by so as not to get dragged into a fight when it should be garrisoned by Imperial soldiers. I'm also playing on PS3, so there is no chance of mod interference. 71.171.112.31 22:49, 2 October 2014 (GMT)

I agree with the other guy, whenever I play on PS3 and try to clear the 4 western forts (I side with the Empire), only Snowhawk is permanently garrisoned by the Legion. Fort Hraggstad is regarrisoned by bandits shortly after I retake it for Rikke (which is documented elsewhere), in Sungard and Neugrad, the bandits/Forsworn both respawn. On PC, though, I use the unofficial patches, and the forts are always garrisoned properly by whichever side holds the hold capital once I clear them. Maybe a member of the USKP team can shed more light on the subject?

I also didn't mean to imply you'd said that Fort Snowhawk was the fort for The Reach, I was just rattling through any possible misunderstandings you might've had. 31.53.59.127 23:20, 2 October 2014 (GMT)

It's too bad you can't download the unofficial patches to consoles *sigh* oh well. Seems like the only way to fix the issue of non-garrisoned troops in the forts is to hand over holds to the Stormcloaks during Season Unending, then take them back. Eventually I'll try playing on the Stormcloak side and see if the same thing happens. 71.171.112.31 19:10, 3 October 2014 (GMT)

Unmarked Location[edit]

there is an unmarked mudcrab infested burial ground NE of location. should that be marked in the Notes? 208.53.115.151 05:20, 28 February 2019 (UTC)

It's noted on the Apprentice Stone location page, which is closer to it. It's also linked from the skill book page, the reason the location is notable. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:10, 28 February 2019 (UTC)
