Steel Boot Spawning Mannequin?[edit]

moved from Skyrim_talk:Hearthfire

I have the armory wing (in Lakeview Manor), and the center mannequin keeps spawning Steel Boots. Anyone else have this (not really an) issue? 174.71.76.4 23:13, 15 September 2012 (GMT)haphsaph

There's a recurring bug for many people where the Mannequins in hearthfire houses for some reason get very 'attached' to the first set of armor you slap on them, and continuously duplicate new sets of that armor. In your case its just a pair of boots, in other cases its full sets of armor. I've only seen/heard of it taking place with those mannequins in the armory however, and so this issue has already been added to the Bug section of the armory page.--Grieves (talk) 10:08, 19 September 2012 (GMT)
This is a common bug with all mannequins... Google or YouTube Skyrim Mannequin Glitch. Funny part is there are multiple walkthroughs on how to duplicate armor, but none to fix. S1D3WYZ (talk) 16:46, 23 January 2013 (GMT)
I have this problem at Lakeview as well, but for me the mannequin is spawning Krosis masks. :D Mixer989 (talk) 14:26, 12 May 2014 (GMT)

Missing bench[edit]

In addition to the missing round tables and chairs I cannot get the "West side, north of door." bench to appear either. 87.194.26.132 16:07, 10 October 2012 (GMT)

(PS3 user)On my first attempt, I could have sworn I didn't get the bench either, but now I'm not so sure. Every attempt since, whether by the steward or myself, has resulted in both benches spawning so it makes me wonder. After all, the picture of the bench that appears in the Armory workbench's list of Exterior Options looks NOTHING like the bench that you get. Instead of one plain bench and one handsomely carved bench with a back and armrests, both benches are of the simple, low, plank variety.MrC (talk) 21:50, 4 March 2013 (GMT)
Just re-checked this issue after a long time. The second exterior bench (west side, north of door) is indeed missing from Lakeview Manor's Armory roof. I recall both bench options being added to Heljarchen Hall's Armory, so perhaps this problem is Falkreath specific? MrC (talk) 18:42, 26 February 2020 (GMT)

Armory Mannequin Bug[edit]

Im not sure if this is a potential solution to the problem, however I've noticed that after repeatedly removing the duplicated items, leaving the mannequins bare, after a period of time some pieces of the armor will not duplicate, potentially even the entire initial set. E.X. I had Royal Vampire Armor on one of the mannequins in the armory, after about 18-20 duplicate removals the Vampire Gauntlets did not duplicate, and after another 8-10 removals, the boots and armor set eventially stopped respawning, enabling me to place the new armor set on it. I'm not sure if the glitch is supposed to eventually taper off with persistent removal, but it's a method worth exploring. Also to further back-up my claim, i am trying to use the same method to remove my Ancient Falmer Armor set from the mannequin, so far though only the boots have been removed.

Further note for those who wish to try out my possible bug-fix, if you do not already know, leave your home by either walking outside or going to the cellar, any action requiring the loading interface to be opened, then go back to the armory and remove the set and store or discard as you please. It is a very tedious process, but just wiegh its annoying tendency against how much you want to change your armor set. — Unsigned comment by 72.152.71.57 (talk) at 23:05 on 18 October 2012‎

Or you can take off the armor, save and reload, and it'll be gone, I think. 76.166.130.139 12:10, 3 August 2013 (GMT)

Exterior Items Refusing to Generate[edit]

I have heard that the table and chairs will not generate, and as noted by another user, sometimes one of the benches. I have play tested reloading and rebuilding the items with no luck. I was wondering if anyone had found a work around yet, or a method, for any platform, to get the items in question to work properly. If I do get reloading and attempting again to work I will update this post and reflect it on the article as well. Lazlow-FM (talk) 17:58, 5 November 2012 (GMT)Edit: I have only been testing this at the Windstad Manor

in my experience, the bench appeared at all three homes, but I wasn't able to get the table and chairs at any of the homes. I play on XBox 360, and was the one to post the bug about the table and chairs originally. I tried building all furnishing options in a different order, going inside and outside between building each option, building them all at once, etc. without any luck. One thing I did not try was asking the steward to decorate the Armory for me. Perhaps you can try that and report back to see if it works? I don't have a save with the Armory at the moment, or I would test it myself. — ABCface 18:49, 5 November 2012 (GMT)
(PS3 user) Using the steward makes no difference. The round table and chairs still don't appear. Instead, the option to build them perpetually remains in the Armory workbench's inventory as the last, unfinished addition to the Exterior. It is possible to clear the workbench's list by selecting (to craft) this last remaining item yourself, but the result is the same as before--no furniture. Oddly, clearing the "round table and chairs" option from Heljarchen Hall's "Armory" workbench also removed it as the last (unappearing!) item from Lakeview Manor's "Bedrooms" workbench (the steward was used at both houses). So maybe this particular option isn't supposed to be on the list of upgrades at all.MrC (talk) 22:18, 4 March 2013 (GMT)
I felt this was a related issue. No matter how I go about building one of the homes, whenever I build the Armory with the Storage room addon, the exterior decks do not connect. The barrier around the Armory deck stays in place, preventing walking from one deck to the other. This often messes up with NPC pathfinding when they walk the decks. Sometimes leading two of them to be trapped in the small pathway from the Storage Room deck to the Armory deck with one of them having their path blocked by the other.Mjr162006 (talk) 07:09, 18 April 2013 (GMT)

Exterior Stair glitch front side[edit]

No matter how many times I try to go up the the front side steps up to the above patio, at some point up the stairs I fall through to the ground below. Reloading any saves did not fix this issue for me, including rebuilding the wing. Only work around was the stairs at the back. This occurred with Heljarchen Hall on the Ps3, others not tested. (fixing comment with actual signature) BlackOp (talk) 01:49, 24 February 2013 (GMT)

In case anyone else is having this problem, the solution is simple and rather silly: don't run up the stairs, walk. I have no idea why it works, but it does. 73.173.119.137 06:18, 29 September 2017 (UTC)

Shield Plaques[edit]

(PS3 user) Despite what its workbench inventory states, aren't the Armory's two weapons plaques actually "Shield" plaques? The Skyrim: Armory page accurately lists these items as they appear in-game (as it should). But perhaps a clarifying "note" could be added to the table? Sorry to add more work to the pile . . . but I think it would be helpful for players who enjoy outfitting their homes (like me!), especially since actual "weapons-only" plaques do exist in the game (i.e. in the Enchanting Tower and in the Main Hall's east bedroom).

Mods--I'd be glad to add similar info (on the appropriate talk pages) regarding the "Shield" plaques in the Cellar, the Main House's bottom floor (north room), and the west wing "Bedrooms" addition, if it would help? Or is mentioning the other locations here sufficient?MrC (talk) 23:13, 4 March 2013 (GMT)

Exterior Decks Not Connecting[edit]

I don't know how helpful this is, but I ran into a similar problem as others with my exterior decks not connecting. On Xbox 360 at Lakeview Manor I decided to do a full exterior deck patio setup starting with the Armory, then the Storage Room and followed by the Bedrooms. I discovered after finishing the Storage Room that the two exterior decks did not connect, and the same happened to my Bedroom exterior to Storage Room exterior deck. It's worth noting this can be fixed by saving before completing the units and building both the Storage Room and Bedrooms simultaneously. I went back and forth building the doors, foundation, floors, wall supports for each, then completed the roof finally. I saved again in a different file as a precaution before completing each wall section and I'm not sure if the order matters, but I recommend the Bedroom walls first because when I did the Storage Room walls first the Armory still would not connect. However, when doing the Bedroom walls first, saving again in another file as a precaution, and then finally completing the Storage Room walls I found that all my exterior decks finally connected. It took a little experimentation and it could be just a matter of loading until it works for you, but it seems like building these units in the right order will prevent a lot of bugs for the exterior patios. I hope this helps someone.--72.91.149.47 18:43, 22 June 2013 (GMT)Archmage Darium

I'm having this issue as well, though I didn't save before so I can't use the above solution. Any suggestions? I'm playing on the Xbox 360. 209.171.88.245 03:36, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Armory Mannequins Come Alive[edit]

I'm not sure if this is just a rare coincidence or what have you; but I just went back to Windstad Manor after completing a radiant Word Wall quest in Folgunthur, and went into my armory, and my mannequins (except one) were standing on the ground in front of the stands, moving and putting their arms akimbo. Then they just blinked back up to their stands, but kept the position they were in before they blinked back up there (ex: if their arms were on their hips, they left them there). Needless to say it scared the poop out of me, and I have no idea why they did that. They've never done that before, and I wasn't sure if it should be chronicled here as a bug or not. 72.91.152.108 13:24, 23 March 2016 (UTC)

Small error in the listing of materials[edit]

Total Materials: [...] 10 Hinges, [...] 26 Iron Fittings,[...] 2 Locks, 64 Nails,[...] (2 Corundum Ingots, 38.4 Iron Ingots in addition to the 4 already listed)

It should be 39.4 Iron lingots.

Yup, you're right. I'll fix that. In future, you can fix it if you are sure that it is incorrect. If you are unsure, however, it's often better to check in the talk page. AlphaAbsol (talk) 19:03, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
I'm a newcomer to this wiki and i don't want to make modifications that may need to be modified again. I was about to add a link to Skyrim:Orchendor for the Peryite lore page, but a quick reading of the rules showed me i would have done something wrong.--78.237.215.57 23:26, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Weapon racks eating weapons[edit]

Is there a known issue regarding losing weapons to weapon racks? I have seemingly forever lost a crossbow and Dragonbane. I still see them in the rack but am unable to retrieve them, and I can place another weapon in the same slot, both will then appear.

I believe these happened over time. I'm fairly sure I could previously open the Dragonbane with the option to retrieve it, but later it no longer was recognized. Any script I can use to fix? Thanks. — Unsigned comment by 216.145.169.176 (talk) at 17:54 on 20 December 2018‎

This is a known bug of weapon racks. I gather from various posts that weapon racks actually have several bugs associated with them. I believe all of them are fixed by the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, but that's just based on personal experience. Your mileage may vary. Robin Hood  (talk) 20:00, 20 December 2018 (UTC)

All the crafting stations[edit]

I've just recently realized, and I've never seen it mentioned, that with the Armory, you have the option of having all of the crafting stations available in one zone. The Armory has a workbench, grindstone and tanning rack, while the main hall has an anvil (i.e., a forge), enchanting table and alchemist table. The only thing missing is a smelter, but that's a minor inconvenience. I don't know about anyone else, but the ability to go from forge (or in this case, anvil) to workbench/grindstone to enchanting table with safe storage available and without having to deal with loading screens is HUGE and I *REALLY* wish I had known this earlier. The only other place in the game I can think of that has that is Severin Manor (although it does have the advantage of adding a smelter). Fort Dawnguard would also qualify except I don't think there's any safe storage at the fort. Eiphrok (talk) 21:35, 21 November 2019 (GMT)
