Giving shoes[edit]

Hmmm, I've had all types of shoes added by SI (2 types of Scruffy, Brown Loafers and Orange Loafers) in my inventory. Then, when she asked for shoes, there was an option in the dialogue to give her shoes. Despite that she thanked me, shoes did not disappear from my inventory, there was no "itemname removed" note on the screen, and she kept running barefoot. Somebody please check it, as I'm not sure that all my installed mods do not interfere with this. 77.38.140.17 13:16, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

Not to do with mods. It seems that the option to give her the shoes does check whether you actually have some specific shoes (lower class, or some new Shivering Isles shoes), but doesn't remove them from you afterwards. Nor is she given any shoes. --Timenn < talk > 08:57, 16 June 2009 (EDT)

hello i'm just going to tell you people that i had a pair of shooes and she took them so mabye it's just your game?GUM!!! 17:57, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

Double-checked. She doesn't take SI shoes from you, only original Oblivion ones (w. USIP installed) --188.112.158.201 08:53, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
i play on the 360 so it couldn't have been fixed by the USIP!and she took the shoess!(as i said before)--GUM!!! 16:16, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
What type of shoes where they? Standard Oblivion ones or a pair added by SI? --SerCenKing Talk 17:00, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Checked out the script of original SI. Apparently, an option to give her shoes triggers a new quest stage with the following script:
if player.getitemcount LowerShoes01 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes01 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes01 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes02 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes02 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes02 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes03 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes03 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes03 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes04 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes04 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes04 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes05 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes05 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes05 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes06 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes06 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes06 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes07 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes07 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes07 1
elseif player.getitemcount LowerShoes08 > 0
  player.removeitem LowerShoes08 1
  SERunsInCirclesREF.additem LowerShoes08 1
endif
However, topic for giving shoes also appears for Scruffy Shoes (both types), Orange & Brown Loafers. So, she takes only lower-class shoes found in the original game. Gotta go and check whether it's fixed in the USIP.

USIP doesn't change the aforementioned script. Just for you to know. Maybe, I'll manage sometime to edit the article to reflect this strange personality of hers :D --Buteogallus 07:53, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Tried to rewrite the article, adding some of the found information. Mu first major edit, so don't stab me too violently :D --Buteogallus 13:54, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
hmm...i think that i got them from a sack from the IC so they where probly obivion not SI but i'm not sure cause it was a long time ago --GUM!!! 18:17, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

no bug[edit]

i didn't had the bug of the endless ni-ni-ni. i shot a arrow in her head because she wouldn't stop, and it worked. maybe the bug has to do something with patches or weapons that you use to kill her— Unsigned comment by Hollymarkie (talkcontribs) at 16:40 on 10 July 2009

Indeed. The bug seems like to have been a one time occurrence. Thanks for taking the time to verify it. --Timenn-<talk> 15:03, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

no Essential[edit]

well i was reading the stats thing and noticed that the stats thing dosesn't have the Essential thing like all the other SI people — Unsigned comment by 142.68.110.192 (talk) on 3 March 2010

Umm, that's because she isn't essential... Not all NPCs are essential, generally only those needed for a certain quest. See here for SI essential NPCs. --SerCenKing Talk 09:17, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
no you don't get what i'm saying if you go to a diffrent SI NPC in there box thing it says "essential yes or no"so what i'm saying is that souldin't this page say that to?GUM!!! 18:04, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure why some of the SI NPCs have an "Essential: No" in the summary; the "Essential:" box should only be present if the NPC is at some point essential, and the space beside it used to indicate when the NPC is essential. We'll need to make sure to check for unnecessary parameters used as we do go through the redesign project. --GKtalk2me 02:51, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Poison apple[edit]

I dont know if anyone noticed, but you are also able to give her poison apples. — Unsigned comment by SgtYoung (talkcontribs) at 02:02 on 18 March 2010

I tried it a few weeks ago, and it is certainly possible to hand over a poisoned apple. Her page still needs cleanup, though, with a proper explanation of her mysterious "habits" and we will make sure to give the poisoned apple-option a mention when we do the rewrite. --Krusty 08:56, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

The Newcomer rumor[edit]

Have you met the newcomer, yet? Rich, maybe? Kindhearted, or just another skinflint?

Does this rumor appear only before the player slays the Gatekeeper? I don't have the possibility to check it right now; if it does, then the player technically won't be able to hear this rumor, as it will be overwritten by a new one after he enters the main SI part — a feature worth noticing, in my opinion. --Buteogallus 19:48, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

We have added tons of rumors like that to various SI NPCs - mainly because Bethesda wrote them and because they are pretty funny to include. If we should mention every time a quest-related rumor is impossible to hear (which, in most cases, would include all NPCs not living in Passwall) then we could more or less do on all NPCs. That's why we made the "stage-dependent-dialogue" header. --Krusty 19:59, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Locked in a Pen[edit]

I've noticed in my visits to Highcross that sometimes Runs-in-Circles appears to be locked in the small walled area with a gate near the South of the town, just standing there contemplatively. The gate has a hard lock, but I'm unsure of why she ends up locked in, does anyone else know? Seems like it'd be worth mentioning as part of her daily routine so I'd be interested to know more. For example, does someone else lock the gate? I suspect Shivering:Mirili Ulven may be locking the gate, as Runs-in-Circles mentions how Mirili doesn't like it when she runs through her garden (if you quiz her about Mirili's Research), but I haven't ever observed this happening. For now I'm going to add it as a note, but it'd be nice to know a bit more if anyone cares to spend more time on it. --Haravikk 15:52, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

Ni-ni-ni![edit]

I didn't get the idea that her trademark noise was a reference to the Knights of Ni. I just thought she was making random "motor" noises, like children do when pretending they are cars. Of course, why she would make a "motor" noise remains up in the air, considering that motor cars haven't been invented in the Shivering Isles yet. But that might just be part of the insanity.

Psh, it could be anything. I got that it was the sound Cartman from South Park makes when sweeping for robot guards... but I wouldnt add that to the article :-D--Catmaniac66 04:21, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I've moved the note here for the time being whilst we ponder. In the movie, the Knights of Ni really only say a single "Ni!" don't they? Not a fast series like Circles does. Personally, I thought if anything the anachronism about the motor boat could be perhaps more close to the truth. However, yes - truth be told - it could be anything. NININI from the grave![edit]

what the heck! ok i walked up to her asked if she was lost or whatever and she ran away and i went to find her. she was sayin ninininininininini! i was like what the heck. so after a minute of just staring at her to see if she would stop. so i kill her and then she kept making the noise! even when she was dead! so i was like oh my God! then i just ran away and it still made the noise repeatedly! even when i went into a nearby cave! i couldnt take it anymore so i just turned the xbox off.... -_- it was sooo annoying! — Unsigned comment by 68.53.95.97 (talk) at 19:04 on 21 February 2011 (UTC)

It states on her page that a certain bug could occur after killing her resulting in you hearing her say Ni-Ni-Ni but i'm not sure why'd you experience it in a cave. I believe you should only hear it while near her body or possibly in highcross DragonWolf 21:02, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
