Schedule Trouble[edit]

I just spent a good amount time watching Amiable Fanriene and found some interesting problems:

  • First of all, I’m not sure there are any differences in his schedule before and during the quest. When I checked him before the quest, he would still venture inside his house at midnight and so forth.
  • I can’t make him enter the Choosy Beggar for lunch at midday, at least not until the quest is completed. Before that, he seems overly uninterested in the place – he will, no matter where you are in the quest, always enter the place at 8pm though. This could probably use yet another check in the CS, just to make sure that midday package ever gets activated before the quest is finished.
  • He will continue to cower when spending time on the Plaza in front of the Beggar, even after the quest have been initiated – and after it is completed.

So, all in all, a complicated one! I hope some further CS checking can solve some of the confusion. --Krusty 11:21, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Hmmm, I just checked in the CS and I realised I probably got some of it wrong. Here's a revised schedule, see if it's like what you observed in-game:
Before and During Related Quest:
  • midnight-6am: wanders around in front of Choosy Beggar crouching (sneak) or wanders in his house upstairs (50%)
  • 6am-midday: cowers in front of Choosy Beggar
  • midday-2pm: eats (if he has food) outside CB (still crouching)
  • 2pm-6pm: cowers in front of CB
  • 6pm-8pm: same as lunch
  • 8pm-midnight: cowers in front of CB
After Related Quest:
  • midnight-6am: sleeps in Uungor's bedroll
  • 6am-midday: cowers in front of CB
  • midday-2pm: eats in CB (may try stealing food)
  • 2pm-8pm: cowers in front of CB
  • 8pm-10pm: same as lunch
  • 10pm-midnight: cowers in front of CB
If this schedule is right, tell me and I'll tweak the existing one, so it's easier to check! :) --SerCenKing Talk 18:19, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I have tried every technique I know, and I can't get him to eat at noon before (or during) the quest. Other than that small problem, the above schedule seems spot-on - including his 12pm-visit to The Choosy Beggar after the quest is completed. I have no idea what is going on (some more investigation is needed), but is it possible that his constant cowering somehow can break the lunch-package - especially because he is scheduled to eat outside? I'm only saying this because it seems to work fine whenever he is scheduled to go inside. --Krusty 22:30, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I just gave it another look, and I'm 99% sure the problem is to do with the eat package. Because he is outside and is set sneak (i.e. steal food methinks) and none is to be found, he should theoretically stand still. However because of his script (which basically makes him pick his cower package every time he's free) he will start cowering again. Have you experienced the same behaviour during his dinner time? --SerCenKing Talk 07:57, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Yup, that's sounds right. Between 12pm and 2pm, every time he tries to do something, he just cowers again and seems to forget what he was doing - meaning that he never reaches an outside spot where he can eat. It might be easier when he is supposed to go inside, because his cowering doesn't seem to interfere when he actually have a destination - even if it takes him a LONG time to get there. Based on your post, I'll do some final checking tonight - but I think you can safely tweak the written schedule based on this - and then we can get the thing checked. Phew! --Krusty 08:06, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Just checked him some more, and you can now be 100% sure. If you do the tweak, I'll do the check! (some kind of note about that eating package should be considered, though) :) --Krusty 21:54, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
Erm... the newest tweak is almost correct - but it is important to mention, that he WILL enter the Choosy Beggar between 8pm and 10pm - before, during and after the related quest. --Krusty 22:35, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Should be good to go now :) --SerCenKing Talk 09:09, 29 January 2010 (UTC)

Unused Dialogue - complete list[edit]

Here is a ton of unused dialogue recorded for Amiable Fanriene; all of his Hello’s and his single Goodbye seems to be absent from the game, probably because of that cowering package that kills everything else. Oddly, he will still use the dialogue recorded for conversations with other citizens, so that was added to the page instead. Here is a complete list of all the missing footage:

Hello:
Can't sleep... the walls, they'd fall on me. Can't have that.
I must be ready to run out at a moment's notice. Can't sleep.
Can't sleep.
Can't sleep at home so I just walk around. Can't sleep.
I wish I could find a spot to sleep where the walls won't collapse on me. Can't have that.
Can't sleep at home. Can't sleep. The walls aren't safe.
Goodbye:
May your walls stand secure!

Also, all normal greetings skipped because his quest-related dialogue takes precedence:

I'm Amiable Fanriene. Sorry, can't talk. Got to move on. It's not safe here. The walls are about to collapse. You'd best get moving, friend!
No time to chat. The ceiling looks like it's about to buckle. Got to move.
Sorry, friend. It's not safe here. Can't talk now. Got to move. Carefully. Don't want to bring the place down on our heads!
Perhaps my Lord will fortify the walls?

Over and out. --Krusty 09:17, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

Just for the record, I ended up adding the entire thing to the article. --Krusty 22:35, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Normally I would upload the audio for the NPCs unused dialogue but there are 11 pieces of dialogue, which is just overkill imo. I was thinking of just uploading his greetings. mxk101Talk 23:19, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
You are very correct; that is basically why I just wrote all the hello's and goodbye's into one long sentence, just to get them mentioned somewhere. The greeting would be great, though. Btw, a horrible missing line can be found here.
I have added the audio files to both pages. mxk101Talk 00:09, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
