Split Vampire from Vampirism[edit]

inaccurate figures[edit]

seems this page could do with an overhaul - i don't have a vampire myself, so i'm in no position to check, but those numbers/descriptions down there seem very imprecise. — Unsigned comment by 195.249.185.2 (talk) at 21:28 on 28 June 2014

Not everything is nice round numbers, most of the other skill lines have what could be called random numbers attached to them but they are taken from the game. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 22:10, 28 June 2014 (GMT)

cure[edit]

Curing vampirism currently does NOT return invested skill points. If you cure vampirism, the 18 points remain spent, it merely toggles off use of the Vampire skill line and removes the buffs/debuffs.

To cure: Full respec in capital city, 100g per skill point Cure at Mages guild in The Rift/Reaper's March/Bangkorai

Pretty sure it's a bug. I find it hard to believe that the intent would be to lock out 18 points permanently for curing out of order. — Unsigned comment by Apantoliani (talkcontribs) at 14:52 on 29 June 2014

Online:Vampirism Questions[edit]

I was looking for some information and couldn't find it. Does anyone know these answers and could we add them to the page?

  • How do you advance the Vampire skill line? Is it based on the XP you get while a Vampire or does it go by number of people bitten (thinking of the Mages line going by lore books read) or is it something else entirely?
  • If you are cured, can you become a vampire again?
  • If so, do you retain your previous skill progression (level, points spent, etc) or does it restart from scratch? (And can this be used by people who didn't re-spec their points before becoming cured?) The page mentions that curing Vampirism simply toggles it 'off' in the game files, so I am wondering if becoming a vampire again would toggle it back 'on' and have everything still be there.

Also, a section listing the pros and cons of ESO Vampire characters would be helpful. Advice from experienced players on topics like this is always appreciated. Things like taking damage from sunlight (Oblivion), people attacking vampire PCs on sight, and so on. The game really provides little, if any, information on important aspects of ESO, so anything the wiki community can provide is always greatly appreciated.

Thanks everyone! Minotaur (talk) 06:34, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

I believe the skill line is advanced by slotting vampiric abilities, i.e. no need to use them, just have them on your active bar when you receive XP. There are no restrictions on becoming a vampire or WW again after being cured, and you retain your skill progression if you're cured. The page currently says that your skill points remain spent when you get cured unless you respec beforehand, but I think they were tweaking that in the past so it may no longer be the case. Your best bet would be to find a vamp guild or experienced player in-game and ask about specifics, since a lot of the information online is now outdated. —Legoless (talk) 15:25, 30 March 2016 (UTC)

Dark Brotherhood Changes[edit]

With the changes to vampirism in Dark Brotherhood, there should be an added column to the list of passive skills stating the minimum stage of vampirism you need to be to have the ability active.--F-Lambda (talk) 06:48, 14 June 2016 (UTC)

Fire damage penalty[edit]

It would be really nice to know if for example where the Fire damage penalty levels came from. All other guides tell it's a constant +50% damage received but they are all older guides, so I'm really not sure which one is true. Howellq (talk) 04:26, 8 January 2017 (UTC)

Feeding is Easy[edit]

It is exceedingly difficult on Console. Since Dark Brotherhood came out, if you have the Blade of Woe passive, it will do that instead of feeding. Timeoin (talk) 06:11, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, both actions have a different minimum distance to the target (the Blade of Woe requires you to be closer), so it should be easier if you stand further away from the target. --Vordur Steel-Hammer (TINV1K) 16:18, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, someone on "#Online" said that. I feel ashamed how long I was trying to work that out for lol. Timeoin (talk) 16:23, 3 October 2017 (UTC)

it would be helpful to know which "special" bloodfiends can infect players[edit]

are they named mobs? where do they spawn? — Unsigned comment by 98.234.146.110 (talk) at 03:25 on 26 December 2018 (UTC)

They are simply named "Bloodfiend" and spawn only in the fifth zone of each alliance (Rift, Bangkorai and Reaper's March). There are fixed spots where they spawn out in the wilderness, some map addons have listed these spawn points. Contraptions (talk) 09:52, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

New skill line[edit]

Literally just that, il would be a good idea to update the skill line here.Thanax (talk) 01:31, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Thanax

Re Becoming a Vampire[edit]

In the last paragraph of this section it says "Once you have contracted the disease, you must complete the quest Scion of the Blood Matron to fully commit yourself as a vampire. You have 7 days to complete this quest.[verification needed]." I accidentally got bitten by another player. (I was actually looking for werewolf NPCs in Bangkorai during the full moons, wandered into the vampire shrine thinking it might be pertinent to the werewolves, and the other player bit me before I knew what was happening.) That was several weeks ago, and I still haven't started the quest to commit my character to being a vampire.

His character sheet still indicates that he's infected with Noxiphilic Sanguivoria, so a player definitely has much longer than 7 days after contracting the disease to begin the quest. Is the quoted passage refering to completing the quest after having started it, or to beginning the quest after having been infected? If the former, I can't verify it yet. But if the latter, I can verify that it isn't true. SeaGtGruff (talk) 02:04, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Okay that has to be edited they removed the 7 day thing for the disease, because you could use it as a means to become both a vampire and a werewolf at the same time. The quest itself never gets removed. TheVampKnight (talk) 09:53, 1 August 2021 (UTC)
