Merchants from House Hlaalu are worried about their leader, Raston Vendil. He went to negotiate a trade agreement with the isolated Mabrigash tribe in the Vale of the Ghost Snake. He never returned.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to the injured apprentice on the road near the Vale of the Ghost Snake.
  2. Find the Hlaalu trade caravan.
  3. Enter the Mabrigash camp and speak to Gulakhan Harrinat and Iru-Ahan.
  4. Follow the ghosts, and speak to Farseer Bodani.
  5. Speak with Raston Vendil to receive your reward.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

Speak to Tevynni at the Hlaalu camp outside the Vale of the Ghost Snake. She tells you that Hlaalu merchant Raston Vendil went into the Vale to trade and never returned. She asks you to speak with Gulakhan Harrinat and ask him where Raston might be. When you speak with him, the Gulakhan says that Raston offended every last person in the Vale by asking the tribe's farseer where "the man in charge of the tribe" was, so he could speak to said theoretical man. The Mabrigash responded by imprisoning him, intent on sacrificing him to the Ghost Snake. He directs you to speak with Wisewoman Iru-Ahan if you wish to know more.

The wisewoman waves you off and informs you that his whereabouts are none of your concern. She mentions something about signs and portents, but before she can elaborate too much, ghosts come out of the swamp and gather in the middle of the village. Farseer Bodani disperses them before noticing you. Next to her is none other than Raston Vendil of House Hlaalu. Speak with the farseer.

She tells you just how horribly he offended the tribe, and that she was going to offer him to the Ghost Snake. Now, however, she sees that you may have a role to play in deciding the fate of the Mabrigash. She tells you to speak with Raston, then return to her when you're ready to face the trial of the Ghost Snake. Raston further proves his ineptitude, then gives you your reward for this quest.
