I joined the Antiquarian Circle. Now I need to learn how to find and recover rare antiquities.

Quick Walkthrough[edit]

  1. Speak to Verita Numida.
  2. Speak to Gabrielle Benele.
  3. Use the Antiquarian's Eye to scry for Gabrielle's Bottle of Proving.
  4. Dig for Gabrielle's Bottle of Proving and return it to her.
  5. Return to Verita Numida.

Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

After being initiated into the Circle, speak to Verita Numida who will give you a pointer on who to speak to in order to learn to use the Antiquarian's Eye— your teacher will be none other than Gabrielle Benele. Head downstairs and you will find Gabrielle, who will remember you from Glenumbra if you've conquered that region's adventures (on which you can reminisce together with her if you wish).

Gabrielle will explain how to use the Eye, focusing your sight on the facets in the glass and finding the patterns within them. She asks you to use the Eye to scry for Gabrielle's Bottle of Proving.

Pull up your quest journal and select the "Antiquities" tab. Select Gabrielle's Bottle of Proving and begin the act of scrying. The interface will have three kinds of symbols are scattered across the Eye's hexagonal facets: a hexagon that looks like a circular saw blade, a rune resembling a flower with six petals and a symbol that can be likened to a shining star. Look to the bottom of the Eye, towards the dial with the blue gem set upon it. The space the dial is resting on is glowing white. You need to select a facet next to this glowing space to begin solving the puzzle. Selecting a symbol will cause all adjacent facets possessing the same symbol to glow. Your goal is to connect enough facets to reach the sparkling space near the top of the eye.

After you've scried for the bottle, head to the Antiquity Site in the courtyard, easily reached by the nearby door. Once you join Gabrielle, you will need to excavate her bottle. After you have successfully dug it up, speak to Gabrielle and she will proclaim you a proper antiquarian. Return to Verita and let her know your first dive into scrying and excavation went well. Together, you will now catalog your findings for study and uncover the mysteries of the world.

Notes
* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
