Narahni is an elderly Khajiit found in Rawl'kha, Riften, or Evermore. She was the love interest of Velsa back when Velsa was still part of House Dres and Narahni was a slave under their control. Narahni was one of the slaves that Velsa freed during her escape from House Dres, but they lost touch soon after.
Narahni contacts her through an anonymous note decades later, which Velsa asks you to look into. Later on, Narahni and Velsa will need help finding Narahni's son, whom she has lost contact with.

A Faded Flower[edit]
After talking with Faradan, you can find Narahni nearby, when you approach her she will have just woken up.
- Narahni: "Yes? Who's there? Oh dear, this one must have fallen asleep again."
You can then talk to her and ask if she sent the letter and why.
- "Your face … this one doesn't recognize it. Are you looking for a piece of pie?"
- I came to talk to you. Did you send a letter to Velsa Arendis?
- "Velsa? She didn't come with you? Ah, this one was foolish to even send the letter in the first place. Or the peony.
I hoped the years would have softened her memories. That she might have wanted to see her old friend one more time before the end."- Why send a letter? You should have just gone to see her.
- "This one is no longer the young and brave Khajiit that fell in love with Velsa, and it took a long time to even discover she might be in Abah's Landing.
Now I am old and my mind isn't what it once was. Velsa would never even recognize me."- I think you should go and talk to her.
- "Do you really think so?
Perhaps that would be best. Enough time has gone by without this one seeing Velsa's sweet face. Even if she's still angry, at least I can tell her that I never betrayed her. Since she didn't come here, I'll have to go to her."
- She was afraid the letter was a trap./She didn't come here because she was afraid the letter was a trap.
- "Oh, stupid Narahni, this one should have thought of that! She feared her terrible family was trying to lure her out of hiding. I should have signed the letter.
But you must understand, when we parted, Velsa was hurt very much."- Tell me what happened.
- "Velsa loathed her family's business. This one was a slave then, working in the family's kitchens. We … fell in love.
We made a plan to free all the slaves. But she thought I betrayed her. She disappeared before I had a chance to explain."
- Then you need to go to Abah's Landing./Good. Let's go to Abah's Landing. (Appears after you ask one of the above questions)
Once you suggest that Narahni visit Velsa in Abah's landing, Faradan will show up, annoyed that you have been disturbing her.
- Faradan: "Narahni, are you all right? I specifically stated that you were not to be disturbed!"
- Narahni: "Easy, my friend. This one has decided that the time has come to travel and mend old wounds."
- Faradan: "The letter bore fruit? I wish you well, but we're going to miss your pies around here."
- Narahni: "Could you open a portal to Abah's Landing, my friend? A long journey always makes this one's old bones ache."
- Faradan: "Gladly, but I can't keep it open for long. The innkeeper doesn't like me using magicka in here."
- Narahni: "This one will write to you. And I'll even sign the letter this time!"
- Faradan: "Of course. Now give me time to concentrate."
- Narahni: "Come, my new friend, let's take this portal to Abah's Landing. If you dislike portal travel, then make your own way and meet me there."
Narahni will then walk into the portal. Whether you follow her through the portal or take an alternate route, she will be waiting for you near Velsa's Villa in the Warehouse District.
- Narahni: "So good to see you, my friend. Sometimes portals can be tricky."
You can talk to her before taking her to Velsa.
- "Time flows so differently for a Khajiit and a Dark Elf. I am old now, but Velsa ….
No matter. This one will be glad to see her friend again." - Velsa lives in a secluded place. Let me know when you're ready to see her.
- "Ready? This one is nervous, but I am also ready. Lead on and I will follow."
- I'll lead you through the secret passage.
If you talk with her, she will give you some insight into Velsa.
- "A secret passage? Velsa always loved secret passages! Let's go!"
She will become your follower, and you will have to lead her through the spider-infested house to Velsa's home.
- "Does the secret passage require a pass phrase or a special key? It's been a long time since I traveled through a secret passage."
When you reach the tunnel leading up to the home, Narahni will pause to collect herself.
- Narahni: "Ah, dark and dusty! Just like the secret passages from my youth. You go ahead. This one needs a moment."
Once you enter the Villa, Velsa will be waiting for you and you can witness her and Narahni's reunion.
- Velsa: "Did you find out who sent that letter? Not that I was overly concerned …."
- Narahni: "Someone who lacked the courage to sign their name, but now wants to make amends."
- Velsa: "Narahni! Is it really you? Just the sight of you opens old wounds …."
- Narahni: "Oh Velsa. I know what you saw, what you must have thought. This one never meant to hurt you."
- Velsa: "I saw you in my brother's arms! He was the worst of my family! How could you?"
- Narahni: "He arrived at exactly the wrong moment. I had to do something or our entire plan would have failed."
- Velsa: "You … you didn't betray us? You … did that for … me?"
- Narahni: "It was the only way to guarantee your escape."
- Velsa: "I let the years flow by without giving you a chance to explain. What a waste! But I'll make it up to you. I'll keep you safe."
Speak to her before leaving and she'll say:
- "Velsa knows me so well! This one is as tired as a tiger with a belly full of tender meat.
Come back and we can talk later, my friend."
If you talk with Narahni afterwards, she will be overjoyed that Velsa still feels the same way about her.
- "This one never dared hope … but our love is still strong and pure."
That Which Was Lost[edit]
After receiving a letter from Velsa, you can find Naranhi sitting on the edge of a flower bed in the Thieves Den.
- "Oh, you are a pot of treacle tea on a dreary day, my friend! Thank you for coming.
Faradan, back at the inn, sent this one news that has filled my heart with sorrow. Perhaps you can help this old woman again, if you have the time." - Tell me what troubles you, Narahni.
- "This one has been trying to put her past in order. In addition to reaching out to Velsa—thank the stars she still loves me!—I had Faradan inquire after my estranged son.
Like Velsa, Tashmin departed from me in anger. Now I fear for his life!" - Is Tashmin in some sort of trouble?
-
"Faradan located Tashmin in Wayrest, a city in distant Stormhaven. He sent me word that bounty hunters have captured him, even though he can find no evidence that my son committed a crime.
I'm afraid that the bounty hunters work for House Dres!" - Can I read the letter you received?
-
"Oh my! What was this one thinking? I left the letter in the other chamber!
My son fell in with a bad crowd, drowning his sorrows in skooma, but he doesn't deserve to be dragged back to House Dres as a slave. Please, help him if you can." - I'll try to find him for you.
Velsa will then approach Narahni.
- Velsa: "Narahni, you should have told me. Of course I'll find your son!"
- Narahni: "Oh no! This one doesn't want to be left alone to worry about you and Tashmin. Please. Stay here with me."
- Velsa: "Of course. Our friend here is capable of finding Tashmin. Everything will be all right."
If you speak with her again, she will say:
- "Please find my son, Tashmin. He has made mistakes, but he hasn't done anything that warrants the shackles of slavery.
This one will wait here and keep Velsa from worrying so."
Once you have rescued Tashmin, you can lead him to Narahni. If you talk to her before doing so, she will say:
- "(?)"
Otherwise, once you have lead Tashmin to Narahni, they will reunite.
- Tashmin: "Is that … my mother?"
- Tashmin: "This one never should have stayed away so long."
- Narahni: "Oh, happiness, oh, joy! First Velsa and now my Tashmin."
- Velsa: "Your mother has missed you. Welcome to our home, Tashmin."
- Narahni: "We have so much to catch up pm, my dear, sweet son. Come, let us talk."
If you talk to her while she is talking with her son, she will say:
- "Tears of happiness flow freely and make my fur all frizzy! I have so much to tell my dear, sweet Tashmin!"
After speaking with Velsa, she will be happy.
- "Tashmin will grow strong and healthy again here with me and Velsa. This one is most content."
