Nighthollow Clan[edit]
The Nighthollow Clan (also called the Night Lords) are a clan of vampires who, after the fall of the Dwarven city-states thanks to the Aetherium Wars, retook control of the Dark Heart. They became reliant on its void energy for sustenance, and as a result were no longer being able to gain nourishment through blood. They once ruled the Reach above from the depths of Blackreach, and were dubbed the Night Lords by the ancestors of modern Reachfolk. Eventually, the power of the Dark Heart would wane, and the power of the Dark Heart would be reserved for the inner circle of the Nighthollow, leaving those lower in the clan's hierarchy suffering from starvation. The Nighthollow Clan would, in time, lose their influence, becoming reduced to mere bedtime stories to the dwellers of the Reach. In an effort to regain their power, Lady Belain had made a pact with Rada al-Saran and his Gray Host centuries ago, leading to the rekindling of the Nighthollow.
