Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

The missing cantors[edit]

After receiving the quest, go to Redfur Trading Post in Grahtwood and talk with Cantor Krin'ze. She will be relieved to see you and tell you that a cantor Izalgo went missing, together with the accompanying escort of Inquisitors. She will also tell you that the Inquisitors have forbidden all contact with you and Zerith-var, emphasising the later one. Never the less, she asks you to ask around about Izalgo. If you ask her a few more questions, she will tell you more cantors seem to be missing as they lost contact despite normally contacting each other regularly, although with how scattered their group is it can be hard to get word to everyone. She also mentions that they are too busy with their duties to pause them to look into it. Asking about Izalgo, she seems rather fond of him, considering him more than fellow cantors. She also tells you that she is no longer High Cantor Viti's protege, and instead is now wandering on her own after being conscripted by the Inquisitors.

Go and ask around. There are a few people you can ask. Bakkhiza will tell you she saw a cantor not long ago, but that she barely remembers as there wasn't much memorable to leave an impression. Inisez will at first react as if you're there to kick him out for not being able to settle with Shan-Ra. When asking him about Izalgo he will mention all he has seen recently where thieves. Narasarbana will tell you she was busy looking up at the trees and therefor didn't see anything. Tashar on the other hand, is more useful than the rest. He will imminently complain about being asked so much questions, and the bad treatment he got from the Inquisitors. Wanting to be done with it quickly, he tells you the cantor moved on and that there was never any need for an exorcism in Redfur Trading Post to begin with before you can even ask. Asking further, he will tell you the cantor went onwards to Goldfolly. Go there as your next objective. Despite what Tashar says, it's not north on the map but rather south from Redfur Trading Post.

Arriving at Goldfolly, Zerith-var will mention his moonclaw is acting up and that dro'mathra are nearby. Follow the questmarker to the first area in your search. You will find a dead Inquisitor. Zerith-var will bring his ghost up, talk with him. He will be rather stressed out, mentioning a twisting, bending song. He will also tell you that the cantor suspected it to be a trap and was correct. He tells you he didn't become corrupted due to dying. Ask him for information, and he will tell you Rajaska killed kim after questioning him about Zerith-var and how he suspects him to be in league with the Rajaska. He will also tell you that Cantor Izalgo kept repeating a name and left him beside the stabled where a door in the ground would lead to darkness and death. Zerith-var will give him a peaceful farewell and on you go to find the door behind the stables. Behind the stables you will find a trapdoor that leads to an abandoned mining tunnel. Enter it and fight the bent Inquisitor dro'mathra. The tunnel is rather small from being collapsed, and you're clue can be found on the platform next to the entrance, Cantor Izalgo's journal. Read it and Zerith-var will be worried about it mentioning Ravith-morna and suggest to return to Krin'ze. So do so.

Cantor In Trouble[edit]

When arriving back at Redfur Trading Post you will hear people say there is another cantor. Continue and you'll see that the high cantor has arrived, blaming Krin'ze and being rather upset she's ignoring direct orders from her. Talking more with her, and she will imply that there is a link between the Rajaska and Zerith-var as if they're in league with each other. She will tell you she looked into the Order of the Hidden Moon and learned how they where brought to ruin by corruption from within, looking down on your choice to travel with him. Viti will recognise that you are hunting the dro'mathra but also tells you she can sense there is a darkness in Zerith-var at the place his heart should be. Asking her what she means, she won't be much more clear and only tell you that the Inquisitors of the Torval Curiata will find you, and threatening you to stay away from the Twilight Cantors. She won't give you much more info when pressed, Only telling you that necromancy, even when used with good intentions, will cause nothing good in the end.

Despite Viki's threats, go to Krin'ze and talk with her. Tell her you found only Izalgo's journal, and that the Inquisitors didn't make it. She will tell you she doesn't really care much about them, and that her concern lies with Izalgo. She will mentions the cantors have no defence against the type of dream used to lure Izalgo in, telling you that the three of you must stop Ravith-morna. As you're at a dead end, she will ask Zerith-var for input as he battled Ravith-morna before. Zerith-var will be rather unhappy about having to talk about that part of his past, but will try it for you. He will tell you that she was the first he called tamiit, and that she became his lover. He will also tell you that in the end, he died trying to stop her. He will tell you he doesn't trust himself to tell the tale truthfully, but that there is a ritual he can do to show it to you and Krin'ze but asks you keep an open mind as it will show the worst part of his past. He will also tell you the ritual has to be performed on a specific place, and asks you to travel to Ja'zennji Siir, or Jode's Light, in Reaper's March.

A Dark Past[edit]

Enter Jode's Light and work your way to the ritual chamber on the north-west side of the map. Krin'ze will already be there, and tell you that she has already prepared as she was early. Zerith-var will ask you to lead them trough his past and start by igniting the braziers. Do so and then kneel before the alter. You will enter Zerith-var's memory. Touch the Light of Memory to proceed. The memory start at the moment Zerith-var is being introduced to Ravith by Moon-Singer Talbira. Talbira doesn't seem to be any more impressed by Zerith-var than he is with her. After this, talk with Zerith-var. He will tell you it was customary for adepts to be matched up with Moon-Singers, and that since Talbira was getting old they where looking for a replacement. None of which lasted, until Ravith. Continue to the next memory. This next moment is a training session, Zerith-var will tell you it was not advised for an adept and his Moon-Singer to to get this close but they didn't heed the warning. It also seems that Ravith was trying some new kind of song, which turned awry. While it was made by Ravith to protect Zerith-var, the song contained the drums of the bend dance. Zerith-var will explain that too much of an emotion might invite Namiira in, and that while he was trained to armor his soul, Ravith was now. And due to that, Namirra coaxed her way into Ravith's soul trough her love for Zerith-var by convincing her that if Azurah knew that they loved each other more than they loved Azurah she wouldn't let them be together. Zerith-var will also tell you he prayed for help, but that Azurah cannot save those who don't want to be saved. The next memory will take place at Star Haven Adeptorium, where many dead bodies will be laying on the ground. You will hear Moon-Singer Talbira sing in the distance. Go to her, and you find Ravith has fallen to the darkness and Talbira trying to save her. Sadly, Ravith is too strong to be saved and so Talbira asks Zerith-var to kill her. Before Zerith-var's memory is supposed to kill her, the real Zerith-var stops the memory shouting that he cannot bear to see it again. Talk to him and he begs you to not ask him to continue. He will tell you that Ravith became the first Rajaska, and that she stalked the other moon-singers at Star Haven Adeptorium and that everyone either bent to her chorus or where slaughtered leaving only Moon-Singer Talbira and Zerith-var. He will tell you that Talbira was strong and created a song that could ensnare even a Rajaska, after which she ordered Zerith-var to kill her leading to the point you just saw. He will once again beg you to not continue the ritual further. Accept it, and the ritual will end (there is no way to continue at this point).

After the ritual is ended, talk to Krin'ze. She will tell you she's happy Zerith-var ended the ritual, and that the solution may lay in learning the song that Talbira used to ensnare Ravith-Morna, She will tell you that most of the Moon-Singer songs where pruged following the Riddle'Thar epiphany, but that there might be a solution. She mentions that the Tomb of the Moon-Singers is in Rimmen Necropolis, and that the group might be able to speal to Talkbira herself there. Krin'ze hopes that Talbira will share the dong with her so that they can use it to save the other Twilight Cantors. Zerith-var will agree to the idea and make a portal to Rimmen Necropolis.

Rimmen Necropolis[edit]

After you enter the portal, you will step out in Rimmen Necropolis. Zerith-var will mention the tomb lies much further in, and that the two of you will create a path for Krin'ze. Make your way to the tomb, killing everything in your path, and enter it. From there make your way to Talbira's resting place. After entering and interacting with her remains, Talbira's spirit will fly out and jump into Krin'ze colliding both spirits. While Krin'ze screams in pain, she will tell you the pain only lasted a moment and then passed, and that she feels strange. Like she remembers things she never knew she forgot, including Talbira's song. She will explain you that Talbira thought her the song, or rather that she didn't need to because she's here and always has been. Then out of the blue she will tell you she feels something's coming. Izalgo-morna appears. Zerith-var will quickly make a portal Krin'ze can leave trough while you two defeat him. After defeating him Zerith-var will bring his soul to rest and tell you to follow Krin'ze trough the portal.

After entering the portal, talk to Krin'ze. She will be rather sad that Izalgo has fallen. Krin'ze will explain in a bit more detail that Talbira's spirit has entered her soul, and that it's not possession but rather her spirit wanting to teach Krin'ze and that their souls might be the same now. She will also say that Talbira gave her a message next to knowledge: "Forgiveness cannot abide when truth festers in shadow". She will suggest speaking to Zerith-var, mentioning he has need of his tamiit. She will tell you that it's hard for Talbira has trouble showing her things now, and that she has to go look for herself. She will say she will have to practice the song and that she also wants to see if she can teach others, although she hopes they won't ask to much questions about it's origins. She will tell you that if the Inquisitors ask, she will say she wrote the song herself, and that that's not really a lie if Talbira's soul is reborn into her. After this, talk once more to Zerith-var. He will say Azurah's purpose for him has become more clear as well as more fraught. When asking about Talbira's message, he says he understands the message but finds it strange that Krin'ze does not. But he thinks that the Moon-Singer still has things to teach Krin'ze and that she will understand soon enough. When asking what the message means, he will tell you that he tried to confront his past thinking he could do it with you at his side, but that the pain is too much. But he will also say it wasn't for nothing, as Azurah has given them a path forward as Talbira is here lending us her song. After this conversation, the quest is finished.

  • While Zerith-var tells you to kneel down before the altar, the animation actually makes you sit down and bend forward rather than kneeling.
