Battlemage Papus

Battlemage Papus is an Imperial necromancer of the Seventh Legion found in the Royal Crypt of the Bangkorai Garrison. Septima Tharn left him in charge of the ritual to summon a dark anchor into the garrison itself.

Skills and Abilities

Entropic Flare

A basic ranged attack that does minor magic damage.

Fire Runes

The enemy shoots two fireballs in the air which form two fire runes when they land. The runes do moderate flame damage over time to all enemies within the red circles and should be avoided. Players should be prepared to move as soon as the attack casts as one rune will always be cast on top of you.

Void

The enemy summons a purple orb from the sky that explodes when it hits the ground splitting into three projectiles dealing moderate magic damage. This skill then sends out magic AoEs across the floor called Void Bursts. This attack can be interrupted to set the enemy off balance or simply avoided.

Void Burst

These AoEs are released after Void lands, the smaller AoEs deal minor magic damage.

Quest-Related Events

While moving through the Royal Crypt, he can be heard having a conversation with Septima Tharn.

Battlemage Papus: "The king's champion is coming, Magus-General. Should we make an example of this fool?"

Septima Tharn: "It's not "we", Papus. It's "you". I have other matters to attend to. Finish the ceremony first, then deal with the interloper."

Battlemage Papus: "Yes, of course. The dark anchors first, then the...interloper. Thank you for this honor, Magus-General. Glory to the Empire!"

Septima Tharn: "Glory to the Lord of Brutality, Papus. Glory to Molag Bal."

You will see him sacrificing a knight as part of a ritual to Molag Bal. When engaged in combat he will taunt you:
