The Silvenar will send you to rescue Raen and Sariel. You'll find them bound in the Northern Longhouse. If you speak to him first:

"The Silvenar! Where is he? Have you seen him?"
Yes and no. He sent me to free you.
"Thank Y'ffre, he's alive then!
We could've beat the Drublog ambushers, but they brought in a creature. Huge. Ugly. Nothing we did hurt it."
What did they do to the Silvenar?
"I couldn't say. I fought back, but the Drublog warriors hit me over the head. Everything went blurry and I woke up here with Sariel.
Perhaps she saw more."
What kind of creature?/What kind of creature attacked?
"It wasn't a Drublog; it stank of sulfur. Could've been an ogrim, though my experience with such creatures is thankfully limited.
Somehow, it kept the Silvenar from using his power to escape."
All right. You're coming with me./We need to rescue the Silvenar. Let's go.
<Free him>

If you free him first, he will say:

"We did our best to save the Silvenar; now we must work together to free him!
Please, free Ambassador Sariel. Perhaps the three of us can save the Silvenar."

If you free him last, he will say:

"My ears still ring from the clout they gave me. Blasted Drublog took my weapons and Sariel's staff!
Where's the Silvenar? Is he safe?"

As you travel around the camp, he'll randomly say:

"Once we get up the hill, it'll all be up to you."
"I hope the Green Lady is alright."
"We get to the Handfast first, it will be a miracle."
"We need to find the Silvenar quickly!"
"If it comes down to it, you may need to abandon me."
"I'm sorry I can't help you fight. My wounds are too great."
"Once we get what we need, it will be up to you."
"I know we don't have enough time, but I should rest."
"Uh oh, wait! I think my wound is opening!"

If you speak to him, he'll say:

"What's Sariel saying about a cook? My head's still ringing."

If you speak to him after grabbing the ritual book, he'll remark:

"Is that the Ritual of Unbinding that Sariel was talking about? It looks … strange."

After speaking to Sariel:

"The Drublog kept the book near a shrine to Malacath. A Daedra's power could prevent the Silvenar from escaping.
They put his essence into a runestone. I bet they took it to one of the actual shrines."

Take the runestone of Malacath and he'll state:

Ambassador Raen : "We've got to hide! That lodge there. Let's get inside!"

Speaking to him:

"We need to take the book and the stone somewhere safe so you can examine them."
Any suggestions?
"We can't stay out in the open, and the longhouse we were being held in is probably teeming with Drublog.
There was another longhouse south of that one. Maybe we could try going there?"

Speaking to him again before going inside the longhouse:

"If the Drublog haven't caught on to our activities yet, they soon will.
There's a lodge, nearly identical to the one we were imprisoned inside. We could hide there."

Inside the Southern Longhouse, he'll tell you:

"According to Sariel, that book says the price of saving the Silvenar is one of our lives. Good! We should pay for our failure."
One of us must die? Why?
"It's a hard choice, but a simple one. It's my duty to die protecting the Silvenar. I failed once, so badly I can't fight anymore.
The Silvenar needs advisors like Sariel."
I may need help getting the Silvenar out of here.
"I was so helpful till now. No, I've seen you fight. If anyone can get the Silvenar out of here, it's you. And Sariel. She's young, but wise.
The Silvenar needs such advisors, not near-dead warriors. Sacrifice me."
You've given me much to think about. Thanks. / I'll consider your words. Thank you.
<Ends conversation>
Perhaps I should use it on myself.
"Try it, and the last thing you see will be me wresting it from your hands! Sariel and I can't get the Silvenar out of here. Only you can!
Let one of us do what you can't. Don't fail the Silvenar!"

If you use the runestone on Raen, he'll scream in agony as he's sacrificed:

Ambassador Raen : "Ah! I didn't think it would be like this! The pain!"

However, if you chose to sacrifice Sariel, he'll say:

"That's a hard decision, friend.
I'll do what I can in Sariel's memory to help you rescue the Silvenar, lest her screams echo in my ears for eternity."
A choice had to be made. What do I do next?
"Sariel, when she spoke of the ritual, she mentioned binding stones. When we were moving about the compound, I saw rays of bright light streaming from the four towers surrounding the main building.
Perhaps those are what she meant."
Then I'll go to those towers. What do I do when I get there?
"When you … did what you had to do, you turned the runestone into a key. Using it on the binding stones should break their connection to the ritual.
Once all four connections are broken, the energy drain should cease. The Silvenar will be weak, but free."
Is there anything more you can do to help?
"Two things. First, once I've recovered my strength, I'm going to fight my way out of here. That should draw the attention of at least some of the Drublog.
Second, I can give you my totem spirit. It will aid you in battle."
Thank you. I'm ready to go.
<Ends conversation>
How will this totem spirit help me?
"It will fight alongside you and lend you some of its strength. Do not expect miracles; my strength is small and the totem spirit's energy parallels mine.
I wish I could do more, in Sariel's memory."

Speaking to him again:

"When you disrupt the binding stones with the rune key, the Drublog will likely go berserk. I'll see if I can take a few of them out for you.
I'll make it to the road before they get me, never fear."

Rescue the Silvenar and speak to him outside Jathsogur:

"I thank you for doing what I could not. You saved the Silvenar and protected him from mercenaries and traitors.
I will do my best to keep him alive on our road ahead."

After finishing your business with The Silvenar, he'll only say:

"I won't delay the Silvenar one moment more than I must. We'll be gone soon."
