A rat with a rank[edit]

It is ridiculous that a rat like Schemer deserves a 'Murderer' rank in the Dark Brotherhood. Does anybody know why Schemer has a rank? --Matthewest TCE 02:23, 10 July 2008 (EDT)

He's in the faction because that makes him allied with all other members of the DB. (Thus, if you attack him, the other DB people will get mad at you, or if you attack them, you'll end up with a couple of Schemer-bites on your ankles.) As for a rank, like most joinable factions with quest-lines, you can't be in the Dark Brotherhood faction without having a rank. So he has one, though it's the lowest one you can have, so it's not like he can give orders or anything... --TheRealLurlock Talk 02:32, 10 July 2008 (EDT)
But how does he do contracts? Dr. Kilereren 23:33, 30 July 2008 (EDT)
Perhaps Schemer was given honorary rank for inadvertently helping one of the other members kill someone. Who knows. --76.202.248.34 09:28, 12 December 2008 (EST)
Well, maybe he performs pre-mission reconaissance and paves the way for your quests. Who do you think snagged a copy of the Imperial Prison Key for you, or ascertained where exactly Roderic's medicine cabinet is located? That rat is a crafty little critter. —Dark Spark 13:03, 13 December 2008 (EST)
