Marauder Battlemage[edit]

I just saw a Marauder Battlemage in Rockmilk Cave wearing Glass Boots, which is unusual because Marauders are supposed to wear Heavy Armor. --Sundaroct131088 14:48, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

Possibility: he was fighting the bandits in the cave, and his boots got damaged to the point of breaking. Rather than run around with broken boots, he went for the nearest replacement boots he could find - a pair of glass boots on a dead bandit, and put those on. Odd, maybe, but I've seen the AI do stranger things in this game... --TheRealLurlock Talk 17:19, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Actually, all Marauder Battlemages are by default equipped with light armor boots (100% chance), rather than heavy armor boots. For whatever reason, several varieties of NPC spellcasters are equipped with light armor boots; bandit hedge wizards, for example, wear robes and no armor except for a set of light armor boots. Given that Marauder Battlemages have no Light Armor skill whatsoever, they get maybe 1 point of armor rating from wearing the boots and in exchange have abysmal spellcasting effectiveness. Yet they'll always wear the boots! Sometimes you wonder how the NPCs are able to do any damage with their wonderful AI ;) --NepheleTalk 19:28, 14 October 2007 (EDT)
Perhaps this has just been a tacky way to reduce the spell effectiveness of the Hedge Wizards, in contrast with the Necromancers/Conjurers? Rather than making a whole list of new spells for the Hedge Wizards, the developers simply used the Boots. As for the Battlemages wearing Light Boots... That could easily have been a slip-up. Leveled lists are real fun when you have to add dozens of them to other lists, and so on and on... :P --Timenn 14:07, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Marauders Outside[edit]

Idk how talk works, but does anyone know where marauders are Outside of caves and forts `n such? Pimgd

There aren't too many places where marauders can be found outside:
  • Fort Ontus Exterior (Missile)
  • Fort Wariel Exterior
  • Fort Wooden Hand Exterior
  • Sercen Exterior
  • Fort Alessia Exterior
There's also a chance you won't even find them there - they might be replaced by dogs. –RpehTCE 04:33, 11 January 2008 (EST)

Removed Notes section[edit]

I've removed the Notes section. The notes listed were:

* All items without a percentage next to them are guaranteed to be present on an NPC (although some items, such as potions or poisons could be used before you get a chance to loot them).
* Items with a percentage will only appear randomly
* The quality of armor is determined by the Armor Leveled List; for weapons see the Weapons Leveled List.
*Marauders always carry heavy armor.

1) and 2) refer to percentages which are not found on the page. They probably are a left-over of an older version of the page.
3) has been incorporated in the main article.
4) was already mentioned in the main article.
--Timenn 14:07, 6 November 2007 (EST)

Marauders may carry Greaves, Gauntlets, Shields and Repair Hammers(Warlords may wear a helmet). All this is obviously determined by percentage. --Sundar 00:21, 7 November 2007 (EST)

Orc Marauder Warlord[edit]

If anyone is wondering, the Orc warlord only appears during the mages guild quest in Leyawin, at the end of the fort. He carrys the key to the room needed to go to for the amulet. :) — Unsigned comment by Lucky the Cat Guy (talkcontribs)

Yes... as it says on the article, "† Will only be encountered during the Leyawiin Recommendation quest." –RpehTCE 06:33, 4 August 2008 (EDT)

Warlord Pictures[edit]

If someone could remove/edit these so that it doesn't appear that the Imperials are actually round eared Altmer please? — Unsigned comment by Mhira (talkcontribs) at 04:54 on 25 May 2009

Could you elaborate? I'm not good at distinguishing the various races (apart from the obvious) so I can't tell what's wrong, exactly. --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 17:54, 1 June 2009 (EDT)
He's pointing at the images of Imperial Warlords, which indeed are too bright and make them seem like Altmer. I'll upload better ones in a few days. --SerCenKing Talk 03:26, 2 June 2009 (EDT)
Ah, thank you. I get it now. :) --Robin Hood (TalkE-mailContribs) 21:42, 2 June 2009 (EDT)
Done! --SerCenKing Talk 10:07, 6 June 2009 (EDT)

Always Blade?[edit]

Are you guys sure about their always using a blade weapon? I just fought through Fort Blueblood and I'm positive all the marauders there were wielding maces. 71.177.121.86 16:15, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Quite positive. I can't check it at the moment, but usually the Marauders have no Maces in their inventory, though it's possible they can fight with them if they picked one up. --Timenn-<talk> 08:46, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Black Rock Pirates[edit]

In the article, it mentions specialized types of marauders including Mercenaries from Fort Sutch and marauders of Fort Blueblood, but doesn't mention Black Rock Pirates which are a part of the marauder faction also. I don't know if they should be added or not. Bryanmichael11 20:00, 30 November 2009 (UTC)

I think it's fine to add them next to the others. --Timenn-<talk> 17:08, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

mazoga[edit]

why doesen't mazoga attack the player because she is under the marauder class— Unsigned comment by Thedrunknord (talkcontribs) on 30 December 2009

Because her agression is of only 5 points, meaning that she will never attack the player, even if her disposition drops to 0.--MC S'drassa T2M 16:37, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Warlord Pictures (Again)[edit]

The female Nord Warlord now looks like an Altmer.--TheAlbinoOrc 22:35, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Just a reminder, this still needs fixing.--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 20:24, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
Will do, will do... Probably tomorrow. --SerCenKing Talk 07:58, 7 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks!--TheAlbinoOrcGot_a_question? 03:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
Err... Tomorrow has been and gone and it isn't done yet. What happened?--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 15:08, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
I just did it... it's not in the style of the rest of them, but it's still her. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 15:23, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Join the Marauders?[edit]

Is it possible? Through use of console commands or something? Through use in the Oblivion Construction set (Although i don't know how), and without creating clones, please.

It is possible via the CS or via console commands. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 13:51, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Marauder ID?[edit]

I am somewhat new to the talk pages, so forgive me if I do not know the format. I have recently been thinking of doing a "King of Tamriel" character, and part of my plan was to spawn Marauders to act as my soldiers... I have found the ID for the Marauder Faction, but I haven't been able to find the ID for the generic Marauder so often found in caves, dungeons, etc. If anyone knows this, could you please help? I would do it myself, but I am a little hesitant about using the CS. Thank you in advance! 24.222.66.21 15:18, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Xavier Paul

Why doesn't this page have FormIDs? I'll probably have a look in the CS when I get home later if nobody else does. --DKong27 Talk Cont 16:39, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Percentage enchanted weapons and armor[edit]

Can someone give a percentage of the chance that a marauder (either regular or boss) spawns with enchanted weapons or armor per piece? I´m now in level 10, but as long as it´s above 3 or 4 this doesn´t seem to matter much. — Unsigned comment by C0rTeZ48 (talkcontribs) at 12:32 on 19 February 2021 (UTC)

Depends entirely on the levelled list, so there's no single answer. For example, MarauderBossMale1 uses LL2NPCWeaponBossCombLongBlade100 which has a 25% chance of an enchanted weapon starting at level 3, a 40% chance at level 6+, and a 50% chance at level 9+. —Legoless (talk) 15:59, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
Hey thank you Legoless, can you tell me where I can find some of those leveled lists? Because I would like to know the same about regular Marauders, boss and regular Bandits and boss and regular Vampire leveled lists. When I google ¨LL2NPCWeaponBossCombLongBlade100¨ I get no results. --C0rTeZ48 (talk) 17:28, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
The raw game data can be found here, however it's not as simple as finding a neat table of percentages. Getting the answers you want requires a lot of following links and interpretation of information.
For example, here is the record for MarauderBossMale1, a male Marauder Warlord. It lists all of the data associated with this NPC record. At the bottom you can find the leveled lists for equipment; click on any of them to see the details of that specific leveled list. Clicking on "LL2NPCWeaponBossCombLongBlade100" (for example) gets you to this page, which lists the weapon possibilities Legoless mentioned for this character type. As you can see, it consists of another set of leveled lists, one of which will be chosen at random when the character is spawned. Which lists can be chosen depends on the level of the character as indicated in the column on the left.
To see which magic weapons are possible, click on "LL1NPCWeapon0MagicLongBlade100" which brings you to yet another leveled list which shows that there is a 50/50 chance of the weapon being either a magic longsword or a magic claymore. Finally, clicking on "LL0NPCWeapon0MagicLongsword100" would bring you the list of all possible magic longswords which can spawn on this particular male Marauder Warlord, depending on level.
As you can see, choosing an NPC's equipment is a process involving many nested leveled lists, which is why it's not practical to list percentage chances for any specific type of armor or weapon to spawn on any given NPC; there's just too many possible combinations depending on a number of different factors. However, if you want to peruse the leveled lists for yourself, here is the list of NPC_-type records to use as a starting point for what you want. You could also search for the formIDs found in the various wiki articles on the data page to speed things up a bit. Have fun! — Wolfborn(Howl) 01:12, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
Wow thanks super much for that comment Wolfborn!! That was very helpful! I do still have a question though, I want f.e. to look what type of enemies spawn with ¨LL2NPCWeaponBossCombDagger100¨ because I want to obtain a certain enchanted dagger. How do I search for that? --C0rTeZ48 (talk) 15:11, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
For this sort of technical information, your best bet is to actually download the Construction Set and take a look at the game data yourself. This tool can be used to view the contents of levelled lists and see all instances in which they are used. —Legoless (talk) 15:41, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
