Alternate Version[edit]

I'm not sure what the baseID and refID are, but there is a second version of Henantier who appears in Dreamworld. Can someone add this, please? Dr. Kilereren 14:41, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

Done. Thanks for pointing out that it was missing. --NepheleTalk 12:47, 5 November 2008 (EST)

Sleepwalker[edit]

I once went into his house and when he woke up, I couldn't activate him properly. Does this happen for most people? 173.32.11.254 00:02, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

I just tested this with several different characters, and he wakes up and engages in conversation normally. Sounds like a one-off glitch to me, even though it could be interesting to hear if other users have experienced a similar problem. -- Krusty 18:41, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

Essential Until Completion?[edit]

Isn't he made un-essential when the quest begins? He can be killed while sleeping, and there is even a journal entry that is given when you kill him that says "Henantier is dead. His nightmares are over." Can someone test this? APSX3427 01:00, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

i've killed him before when he was sleeping and he came back to life--GUM!!! 01:02, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, he's essential. That quest add-on was just an un-finished part of the quest. --Arch-Mage MattTalk 01:05, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Missing Dialogue[edit]

I just added all of Henantier's dialogue as it appears in the game. However, my dialogue sheet adds several comments from the HenantierDreaming NPC, and I couldn't trigger any of them. Would be nice if somebody can check what the conditions were supposed to be:

  • Elements? Inside a dream? Bah! That's the most foolish thing I've ever heard! Get away from me... you're clearly insane!
  • This maze truly has a familiar feel ... as if I've seen it in my dreams. But no dream could be this vivid, or last this long.
  • I fear this place has addled your wits. This is no dream, but a waking nightmare.
  • If you have something to show me, then show me...
  • Elements... Dreamworld... HA! That's the best yarn I've heard in years!

I left out a few very basic ones, but it seems like Henantier was intended to be a bit more skeptical than he was in the final game. Unless, of course, I missed something? --Krusty 09:55, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Ok, so here we go:
  • In keeping with my now-very-likely hypothesis that dialogues on top are chosen first, this one has, in part, got the same conditions (MS05>=75) as "But...how...", which is at the top and therefore gets picked instead.
  • Disposition needs to be lower than 60, it's on the lines of "I don't trust you enough to tell you". Precisely what he's refusing to tell you I can't figure out.
  • Either what he says after he's said the above or never gets chosen as the one above takes precedence (higher up in loading order)
  • Condition is MS05>=75
  • Condition is MS05>=60
For the last two they might not get chosen as there is one on top with MS05>=80 ("Finally...back..."). Hope this helps! --SerCenKing Talk 21:34, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Good work, SerC! I already tried lowering his disposition to 0 and he will still say the same thing, which is a bit odd. I also tried approaching him tons of times, before, during and after going through the four tests, and no changes. Too bad - I really like the first two lines. --Krusty 21:42, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Hmmm, well in that case it's maybe because there is nothing he will tell you only if you have a specific disposition. It might just have been a generic line they threw there juts in case. --SerCenKing Talk 22:14, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
I think the extra dialogue might be left out references to previous builds of the quest. Perhaps he was meant to follow the player throughout the maze-like Test of Patience. The first dialogue could have been the result of what happened if you showed him only one Element. Of course, this is all purely speculation.MrJLJ (talk) 23:33, 15 July 2013 (GMT)
