Zombies[edit]

Found an invincible dread zombie at the end of this fort. Tried to kill it a few times without any luck so i decided to run it back to the city... guards tried to take it on with no luck. Took them a while to get agro off me too but one finally managed, only to be taken down by the zombie. I must play with this killing machine to try and purge the world of the living without raising a point of infamy. — Unsigned comment by 220.240.173.246 (talk) at 11:28 on 5 November 2006‎

There is nothing special about the undead boss in this fort. It's likely that it's just the first time you encountered a Dread Zombie (as a boss, you can get a Dread Zombie at level 14 instead of the usual level 16). --Nephele 11:45, 26 November 2006 (EST)

Loot[edit]

I found a "Resist Disease Burgundy Linen" shirt (Resist Diease 20% on self), which I sold for around 160 septims, in a coffin near the end that was next / under some steps. I really don't think it was totally useless, and it was some good training for one of my lower level stealth characters. — Unsigned comment by 208.59.167.220 (talk) at 01:37 on 12 March 2007‎

That was probably random loot. Your just as likely to find that anywhere else. Unless someone can confirm that it wasn't random this shouldn't be added to the article. --67.142.130.19 21:43, 11 March 2007 (EDT)

Levers[edit]

Whenever i seem to enter this fort, i can never seem to open the gates by the boss chest. However, i did die once and when i reloaded my saving in the fort, the gates was open, even though i never even went through it. It did happen many times and in some other dungeons, so i'm guessing that it's an error? — Unsigned comment by 80.41.190.104 (talk) at 13:37 on 12 July 2007

The gates are an interesting story :) From the testing I just did (and from staring at the game scripts for a while), I'm guessing that the very first time you visited Fort Virtue you were able to open the gates, because the levers are set to work once and only once. If you return after the dungeon has reset (i.e., after three game days), the gates will have closed, but the levers won't work any more. I think the developers used the wrong levers here by mistake, because the levers are identified as "MQ09OneTimeLever", i.e. as levers created for use as part of the quest MQ09, aka Blood of the Divines. The only other place in the game where these levers are found is in Sancre Tor.
As for the gates being open after you reloaded, I've hit that glitch too a couple of times when reloading quicksave games. I'm not sure if it's related to a bug that was patched in v 1.2.0214, described in the patch notes as "Fixed issue where lock/unlocked states on doors would occasionally be stored incorrectly in a save game." In any case, it's probably just a random occurrence. --NepheleTalk 01:27, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
