I fix your spelling of Accidents happend part[edit]

I'm not sure this is the proper spelling or is it okay like this.

Accident happend--ShakenMike 17:53, 24 February 2007 (EST)

The correct spelling was Accidents Happen. Plus, the quest is named Accidents Happen. 60.227.201.161 19:04, 24 February 2007 (EST)

Hero?[edit]

Could someone verify that baenlin was a "local hero" I can't recall hearing anything to support this.

--If he was a hero, then why would he need someone (Gromm) to protect him, hmm? i doubt it and i haven't heard anything about it. Rosiku 00:48, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

He is older and there is no backstory other then the comment by Caenlin so he must have been--Corevette789 00:26, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

---created an account, and where im at its March 4, hmm.---Rosiku

Yes it is the same for me I am in the eastern timezone while the site works on another one see a discussion on my talk page about it.--Corevette789 00:52, 5 March 2010 (UTC)

Caenlin question for the CS wizards[edit]

As I'm trying to go through all the people related to the Accidents Happen-quest for the ONPCRP, I have a question regarding Caenlin: Does he even exist in the game before you complete the quest, and he moves into Baenlins house? And if yes, where can I locate him? Thanks in advance! Krusty 11:18, 30 May 2009 (EDT)

Another case of initially disabled. He's enabled at stage 100 of Accidents Happen (which I suppose means that Accidents Happen should be listed as a related quest for Caenlin). --NepheleTalk 15:44, 1 June 2009 (EDT)

Quest-related[edit]

I'm actually not in favor of him being quest-related. His quest-relatedness is that he gets enabled after the quest has finished, but in-game, and that's what it is all about (in my opinion), he has no relevance. Wolok gro-Barok 12:11, 11 June 2009 (EDT)

I actually agree. For an NPC to be quest-related, he has to be "necessary" for you to complete the quest, in other words, a person you'll encounter. Krusty 12:13, 11 June 2009 (EDT)
You might want to consider that he very likely is the one who contacted the Dark Brotherhood for this assassination. You might not encounter him during the quest, but he is part of the story. --Timenn < talk > 16:21, 11 June 2009 (EDT)
Yeah, but being part of a story does not make one automatically quest-related. There are probably others who fall under this category (can't think of one now), but are not marked as quest-related. The reason that he is quest-related now is because he gets enabled after the Accidents Happen is completed. So, some CS-reason is responsible. But I guess that makes J'Skar related to The Bloodworm Helm as he gets disabled at the start of the quest and all the Mythic Dawn sleeper agents related to the Dagon Shrine quest since their behavior changes drastically. Wolok gro-Barok 05:15, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
I think Quest Related should include anyone who you talk to, sneak past, steal from, or kill. --Mr. Oblivion(T-C) 05:19, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
Indeed, if no-one has any further objections, I will remove it today. Wolok gro-Barok 05:55, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
I don't have a problem with that. The inclusion of the quest on his page was merely an attempt to make the page a bit more exciting to read, and to support the clues obviously laid out by Bethesda. Krusty 06:07, 15 June 2009 (EDT)
I wouldn't call it a CS-reason, since his appearance is a direct result of this quest. It is different from a character that is disabled at simply the next step in the questline.
But since the Accidents Happen quest is already clearly mentioned in the second paragraph, I don't believe the Related Quests section holds additional value. --Timenn < talk > 08:15, 15 June 2009 (EDT)

Essential?[edit]

Is Caenlin an essential NPC? Rosiku - March 4, 2010-- — Unsigned comment by 173.23.164.176 (talk) at 00:26 on 5 March 2010

No. --Krusty 11:45, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Does he always refer to "the accident"?[edit]

I'm not in a position to check (my 360 is being mean), but does anyone know if Caenlin ALWAYS talks about a "stuffed head falling on his uncle"? I mean, if you choose to complete the related quest WITHOUT earning the bonus, does his dialogue change? --Vulpa 00:12, 15 December 2012 (GMT)

Thanks for pointing that out, I added the other dialogue as a result. Yes, he always says either of those two lines for the rest of the game. RIM (talk) 15:11, 1 May 2013 (GMT)
