Rielle, meaning "Beauty" in Ayleidoon, is an Ayleid ruin on the steps of Cyrodiil's Jerall Mountains, northwest of Bruma.[1] It holds a large crypt in its lowest levels.

During the ongoing Three Banners War of 2E 582, the adventurers Calm-Water, Doralon, and Filibert Morfin had come to the ruins in hopes of entering it and making a profit from their journey. To their dismay, the entrance was sealed off by an iron gate, and they departed to make up the money for their fruitless endeavor.[2][3]

Circa 3E 433, the ruins had opened and the subterranean passages were swarming with undead and rats.[4]

Circa 4E 201, the Mythic Dawn attempted to steal the Great Welkynd Stone from Rielle's inner crypt to reopen an Oblivion Gate in Skyrim. The Mythic Dawn excavated a passage that tunnelled under the Jeralls from Varlais Cavern in the Rift and broke through into Rielle's subterranean complex. The Last Dragonborn was made aware of the plot and took the Great Welkynd Stone to keep it out of the wrong hands, defeating the stone's lich guardian, Norion the Undying, in the process. The exit to Cyrodiil had collapsed in the intervening years, though the rest of the ruin was mostly intact.[5]

Notes[edit]

  • Rielle is also a common Breton surname,[6] but apart from being spelled the same there is no known connection.
