Largashbur is an Orc stronghold situated in Skyrim on the southern edge of the Rift. It sits in a forest right at the northern edges of the Jerall Mountains at the Border between Skyrim and Cyrodiil [1].

History[edit]

Yamarz at Fallowstone Cave

During the Fourth Era, the clan lost control of the shrine of Malacath in the nearby Fallowstone Cave to Giants and in turn, Malacath decided to put a curse on the clan as a punishment. This resulted in repeated attacks by Giants on the stronghold, which ultimately led to the shaman of the stronghold enrolling the help of a traveller to perform a ritual to summon Malacath and plead for help. During the ritual, the Daedric Prince explained the reason for the curse and ordered the chief Yamarz to retake the shrine. While the shrine was ultimately recovered, Yamarz was killed during this effort and Malacath named Gularzob as the new chief of the stronghold [2].

Geography[edit]

Largashbur is located just south of the road between Riften and Ivarstead. Near the southwestern shore of Lake Honrich, a small stream feeds into the lake east of the stronghold. The stronghold sits in a temperate mixed forest primarily made up of birch and pine trees right at the foot of the Jerall Mountains [1].

Economy[edit]

Largashbur Hunting Hut

Unlike most Orc strongholds in Skyrim, Largashbur does not have a mine within the walls of the stronghold with only small deposits of Orichalum present. The economic activity of the settlement is instead focused on hunting and logging, with agricultural activity being limited to animal husbandry of chickens and goats[1]. There is a close economic relationship with other Orc strongholds, with the settlement sending workers to temporarily live in Narzulbur in Eastmarch during the Fourth Era and work in the Ebony mine to assist with labour shortages there [3].
