High Kinlady Estre of House Errinorne

House Errinorne is a royal family from the city of Skywatch, found in the province of the Summerset Isles. They were present on the island of Auridon since the late-Merethic Era, descending from royal Aldmeri blood.[1] For an untold amount of time, House Errinorne ruled over Skywatch, as High Kinlords and High Kinladies.[2] Off the coast of the city is Errinorne Isle, which was used as a shipping and warehouse complex for the merchant-city, part of the old Buraniim Sea-Complex.[3] It also contained the Errinorne Academy.

History[edit]

The royal House of Errinorne have been present since the late-Merethic Era, as the leaders of Skywatch.[2] Some sources claim that Kinlady Entila of Clan Auralus, known for her quest for the Egg of the World, was a member of House Errinorne during her reign.[4][5] All the while, the royal house claimed the island east of the city as Errinorne Isle, which became the warehouse complex for Skywatch and nearby Buraniim Isle. Its main settlement was the Errinorne Academy, a large school on the island's easternmost hills. However, when the Sload invaded Skywatch in 1E 1301, they took complete control of the island and used it as their base for the infamous Sack of Skywatch.[3] After the Sload's defeat after the battle, decades later, House Errinorne never rebuilt their academy and it fell into ruin.[6]

During the Interregnum in 2E 582, Skywatch was ruled by High Kinlady Estre of Errinorne, who was married to the Heir-Apparent of Alinor, Naemon. However, after the return of Ayrenn and formation of the First Aldmeri Dominion in 2E 580, both Naemon and Estre lost their chance to attain the province's High Kingship, and the latter returned to her position as the High Kinlady of Skywatch.[7] With well-hidden bitterness towards the recent changes, Estre formed the Veiled Heritance, a radical group of Altmer that sought to dethrone the Queen and destroy the Dominion.

The High Kinlady, along with High Kinlord Rilis XIII of Firsthold hosted Queen Ayrenn and her entourage through her pilgrimage in Auridon, when the heritance first appeared her radar, after a failed assassination attempt in Vulkhel Guard.[8] An Agent of the Dominion traveled to Errinorne Isle, during the Festival of Defiance and Estre's ceremony to Ayrenn's innermost council. The old Errinorne Academy was redesigned into the Veiled Heritance's headquarters, where the agent learned of Estre's involvement in the Heritance.[9] The following events were a full-scale conflict between the Aldmeri Dominion and Estre unleashing her daedric wrath onto the northern hills of Vafe. She was defeated during her conquest over Firsthold.[10] What became of House Errinorne is unknown.

Errinorne Isle[edit]

Errinorne Isle, also called the Veiled Isle is an island found off the coast of Auridon, in the province of the Summerset Isles. Errinorne Isle is named after House Errinorne, the ancestral royal house of Skywatch. In its time, Errinorne Island was used as a shipping and warehouse complex for the city of Skywatch, but it was later abandoned after the Sload had taken control of the island in the attempt to invade the city. The only landmark is the Veiled Keep, which is found in the center of the island.
