Ruccia Jucani

Ruccia Jucani, an Imperial citizen, is the wife of Albecius Jucani, the patriarch of the rich and powerful Jucani clan in Bruma. They have two children: wayward blacksmith's apprentice Eddvia and spoiled Banus.

After waking up early at 8am, Ruccia will eat breakfast with her family before relaxing at home for a couple of hours. At 11am she heads to the Cathedral of St. Martin for two hours of prayers before returning home. At 2pm she join her husband in sipping Alto wine outside the Jerall View Inn until 6pm, when she heads home and gets to work in the kitchen. At 8pm dinner is served for the whole family and at midnight Ruccia goes to bed. The only exception to this schedule is on Morndas, Middas and Fredas, when she visits her daughter at Northern Arms between 1pm and 3pm.

As befits her status, Ruccia wears Colovian fine clothes and fine boots. She carries a random ring and necklace as well as the key to the family home and a random selection of gold, lockpicks, gems, jewelry, food and drink.

Dialogue[edit]

When greeting you, she will say:

"I'm Ruccia, of the Jucani family."
"I can't say the Jucani family is perfect, and we have our little black spots, but we live quite a fortunate life."

If you ask her about herself, she will repeat:

"I'm Ruccia, of the Jucani family. Not really much more to tell."

If you ask about the family, she will elaborate:

"We're not all that interesting a family, truth be told, though I'm sure Albecius will rattle on about how influential we are. He's tooting his own horn a little too much on that subject. He wishes we were influential, and the gods know he's trying his hardest to make it so. But, for now, we're just like any other moderately-wealthy family. We attend private parties and have fineries, but we're certainly not pulling the strings of the Elder Council, as much as Albecius wishes otherwise."

Conversations[edit]

You may overhear the following conversations between Ruccia, Albecius, Banus, Eddvia and Ananril:

Albecius: "Enough of this, Eddvia. You're letting your bullheadedness get the better of you. If only you'd see him again-"
Eddvia: "See him again?! You have to be kidding me! I've seen him already! He's an arrogant, cocky bastard that I want nothing to do with! You understand?! Nothing! I'd rather kiss Hermaeus Mora than that scamp Calius! Then again, that's what he is, isn't he? A writhing mass of tentacles and slime!"
Albecius: "Such vitriol, Eddvia! To think, I raised you to be such a nice, sweet..."
Ruccia: "Eddvia, dear, please, understand. Your father has the right of it. I agree with him. Calius is perfect for you."
Eddvia: "Perfect? And who are you to tell me that? Surely that's my decision?! It is for everyone else, but somehow not for me? Admit it. You just want me to marry him so you'll be able to share in his family's wealth and influence."
Albecius: "Eddvia, I..."
Eddvia: "Go on. Say it."
Albecius: "Enough of this. And enough causing a scene, too. We'll talk about it some more, later. And in private."

Ruccia: "Banus! What are you doing out here?"
Banus: "I'm just talking to people..."
Ruccia: "You know what I've told you about running off on your lonesome! Bruma can be a very dangerous place, young man!"
Banus: "Yes, ma...sorry, ma."
Ruccia: "Alright. Apology accepted. But I won't be seeing you out here again, will I?"
Banus: "No..."
Ruccia: "Good. Let's go home now."

Ruccia: "Good day, Ananril. The usual, if you would."
Ananril: "Of course. Just a moment... here you are. And, if you don't mind me asking...is he getting any better?"
Ruccia: "Yes, yes. In fact, the only thing that still hurts is his pride. I told him this sort of thing could happen when you get older, but no, the fool still won't come and get the treatment himself..."
Ananril: "Ah. Well, with this salve, he should be fully... restored."
Ruccia: "Thank you, darling. And, if I may, a piece of advice - never get married."
