... Stuff...[edit]

Alright, I figured I may as well ask my questions here. First off, should we make a short note that users should load the game without any mod overhauls? I loaded a save at Welke a while back (the save was before I had OOO and CUO Oblivion overhauls) and noticed that the loot was no longer leveled nor were the enemies. Some users who run these mods (no matter how few) should probably have at least one small note aimed at them. Second, what qualifies a place as needing a highly detailed walkthrough. For example, both Derelict Mine and Welke are medium, but differ largely in depth and content. Sadly, that seems to be all I have for now but I'll add any more thoughts I have in the near future. So there you go Krusty, there's the... stuff... Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 05:55, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Good point. I'll add a note about Mod's somewhere - in theory, it also makes the task easier if you have never cleared the place before. And, just to answer the question; it's all bout the contents of the place - lots of content, detailed walkthrough; no real content except for minor loot chests, less detailed walkthrough. Looking at a place like Newt Cave, it is obvious that it will never be as detailed as an Ayleid ruin. Just keep asking stuff! :D --Krusty 06:00, 18 July 2011 (UTC)

Proofreading[edit]

If you want, I can clean up your typos. Not sure if you want outside editors in your user page, but given that this is intended to be set up as a general quest page, maybe it would be a good idea. Just a yes/no will do. :) --Morrolan (talk) 05:07, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

The alternate start to the Dragonborn questline.[edit]

It might be worth noting that there is an alternative way to start this quest. You can get details about it here: Dragonborn talk:Dragonborn (quest)#This quest is technically optional. --Morrolan (talk) 05:10, 21 February 2013 (GMT)

Yeah, it may be "technically optional" but it is definitely meant as part of the main quest. While there may not be any consequences if skipping the quest, part of the story will be missing and people will be forced to do quite a bit of guesswork to figure out what is going on - a little bit like triggering Blood on the Ice from entering Hjerim. ;) --Krusty (talk) 12:46, 21 February 2013 (GMT)
Apparently though some people are using the alternate start as a way to get around bugs with the Dragonborn initial quest triggering; apparently on PC if you use the console to trigger the Dragonborn questline without fighting the cultists, it doesn't update correctly. I've never played Skyrim on PC so I don't know the details, but I've noticed a good number of comments to that effect.
Having played through the alternate version of the questline twice now, I think the quests were originally designed to allow the alternate start - some of the dialogue changes, especially the argument with Miraak where you have the option normally to say "The Greybeards think I'm Dragonborn" changes, but Bethesda didn't finish work on the alternate questline before DB was shipped so they just left it in the state where it is now, where it is extremely unlikely to accidentally trigger it. --Morrolan (talk) 18:22, 21 February 2013 (GMT)
