We are not a Forum[edit]

Hello Candc4! Your conversations here and here have prompted me to remind you that the UESPWiki is not a forum. If you wish to use a forum create an account on our forums please. It makes more work for everyone involved if you get sent a message every time you do a little thing like revert vandalism, or welcome a newbie after already being welcomed. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:14, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Since you asked...[edit]

To answer your question you posted here while I still don't believe it should of been removed, I don't want to argue with multiple editors at once and I trust Brf's and your instincts since you both agree that it doesn't belong. So I was wrong to revert you earlier, sorry. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 21:19, 20 April 2011 (UTC)

Editing old topics[edit]

Please do not edit 5-year-old Talk topics. Such edits serve no real purpose. --Brf 18:16, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Moved your page for you[edit]

Hi, I moved your page to User:Candc4FTW/Sandbox. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 17:37, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Sorry about that I though I could move the first page from the talk page, instead it just moved the talk page --Candc4 17:39, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
Don't worry about it, beginners mistake. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 17:41, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Templates[edit]

How do you make those? I am curious on how to do so.--Iamgoofball 00:44, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

About your template...[edit]

Your work is quite a noteworthy start, but seeing as most spam (unpleasant or uneducated) can be directly reported, the intended purpose as an insult to spammers would most likely only result in anger, madness, and general editing wars and chaos. Spammers can be easily and efficiently blocked (or hopefully be reformed), so the template, as it stands, needs to be updated, before it is removed by someone who dislikes the message. As AKB wisely suggested after your post, your new template could easily be transformed into a prize, based on it's original template. This prize could possibly be for editors who dissrupt the normal Wiki-continuum with a superb question, causing a huge (but necessary) undertaking, or something else you deem commendable. I would be glad to assist in any way you like, but I will not edit it myself without your permission, it's your project after all. Post in my talk zone if you want advice/encouragement. so to change the title I move it?--Candc4 03:42, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
What? The only one of these you should be working on is Template:Oblivion, which doesn't need its name changed or anything, just edited so it is an actual prize as in its current version it could be seen as an insult. The other ones are to be deleted and should be ignored. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 03:47, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Check out a page called Template: oblivion joke — Unsigned comment by Candc4 (talkcontribs) at 04:28 on 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Wonderfull, but perhaps you could add parameters for username and date/time/ — Unsigned comment by Neural Tempest (talkcontribs) at 04:28 on 30 April 2011 (UTC)
Much better. However, do you mind if I fix the grammatical errors? --AKB Talk Cont Mail 04:28, 30 April 2011 (UTC)
sure go ahead, lol I see the the glammer mistake for all you awesome work --Candc4 04:32, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

() Okay, I cleaned up the grammmar for Template:Oblivion Joke, however I didn't bother with the other one as they are far too similar. I'd recommend you prodding one of them so we don't have two very similar templates. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 04:43, 30 April 2011 (UTC)

I'll help you and Iamgoofball with any of your templates, so ask away! I'm completely willing to help you with template related questions, so always feel completely free to add questions to my talk page. For images, try putting imagesz=100x100px| before the picture file name within the template (sizes other than 100 by 100 pixels can be used). You can see how I implemented this in the Goodfanfiction template. This might not work for all template forms, but in other cases you can try to look for similar templates with adjusted images, then review their coding. Searching around UESPWiki is how I made my "Bolwing" userbox work. Happy templating, - Neural Tempest 04:48, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Okay, please can you stop creating all these prize templates? We already have more than enough, and creating yet more templates that are all the same except for an image and a couple of words of text is pointless. rpeh •TCE 07:55, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

You don't actually need to create a brand new template for each prize you think of, you can simply edit existing parameters, forms and formats to manipulate a single base model into anything, by substituting the info on the page you are putting the template on. A single prize template can actually serve as your foundation for any similar imagery. The template itself never has to change, only the imagefile, text, and format, which means new ones don't actually need to be created. You can stick with that nice Oblivion one, then change the parameters each time you paste it into a page. This would save you hours of work time, and save memory space on the Wiki. Sure they are eye-catching, but not every event needs a prize. Essentially, prizes are only for special occasions or as a huge "thank-you". You can still create templates, just ensure they have a distinct purpose, and are completely unique. When in doubt, search for similar ones, they probably exist. Have fun, - Neural Tempest 08:29, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
It's not really about memory, just that we already have more than enough prize templates, and if we get everybody creating several new ones of their own, it'll quickly get silly. rpeh •TCE 08:40, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
