A bit of information on me: I have often done reading in the Oblivion wiki and found it quite useful. A few days ago I signed up for a login name.
I enjoy RPGs with medieval settings. Oblivion is an excellent example of that. I have some knowledge of the game and am becoming curious about helping out in some way here at the Oblivion wiki.
I've been playing RPGs for about 27 years. Sometimes I cross over into the Adventure genre. I have noticed the genres are overlapping a lot these days. An interesting phenomenon. Generally I play solo but have on occasion tried an MMORPG. I'm still curious about Dark Age of Camelot. A few years ago it was all the rage.
Oblivion has been a joy to play. Developing these games is very hard work, due to a variety of real world problems. I don't think that can be emphasized enough. However, when the players join together to help overcome these problems, magical things happen.
Five years ago I was writing about Digital Tome. A small company that hit the big time in this player's heart. They created Siege of Avalon. They put it out one chapter at a time! While people were playing one chapter, Digital Tome was working hard on creating the next chapter, and paying close attention to customer's comments and suggestions. Each chapter was a nice little self contained experience that could later be added on to. At a cost of about 10 bucks per chapter customers were happily buying them up and eagerly awaiting the next chapter.
As for Oblivion, it's been more fun than six barrels of monkeys. I played it for a while in 2007. Then came back to it in 2008. I look forward to helping out with the wiki in some useful way.
