Master Bel-Betu

Master Bel-Betu is an ancient Dark Elf Enchanter who has cheated death by binding himself within a crystalline form. His true age is unknown, but exceeds centuries according to his own account. He communicates through a gigantic gemstone in Sehutu, but it is unclear whether his consciousness resides there or within his mummified form, where his heart still beats.

A Master of Enchant, Bel-Betu will deign to teach you on the completion of his quests. However, his affiliation for necromancy and his desire to capture the nearby stronghold of Volenfaryon for his unspecified work has put him at odds with the Ashlander tribe that resides there, most notably the mabrigash, Agarinnu. She will commission you to destroy Bel-Betu, just as he ultimately commissions you to eliminate her, and her sisters. As the inhabitants of Volenfaryon all corroborate tales of fending off undead attackers sent by Bel-Betu, it is clear that he cares little for sapient life - he will even kill an aspiring apprentice in Getting Rid of Vildaryn Terano, simply as he finds him boring.
