Do Prisoners Respawn?[edit]

Maybe it'd be worth noting wether or not the prisoners respawn or not, since at least I used them as test subjects for spells, and haven't had the one I killed respawn yet. (46.162.70.201 18:28, 14 November 2011 (UTC))

On my second and third trip back to the Torture Chamber, the dead prisoners were still there. GodRaine 1.1.21.0 PC 23:01, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Quest Won't Finish[edit]

I have experienced a bug where I have bought all of the upgrades, but the quest has not been finished. Anyone else have the same problem?--Danice123 15:31, 24 November 2011 (UTC)

I've got the same problem Danice, bought everything for Delvin but it's still in my quest journal. I've even returned to the sanctuary and checked out all the upgrades.. — Unsigned comment by 123.243.128.94 (talk) at 02:17 on 27 November 2011
Have you gone back and talked to Delvin again? I was having the same issue, but I went back aftery buying everything and checking it out in the sanctuary, asked to buy more upgrades, but then he told me there was nothing more he could do, and the quest completed. 150.203.115.233 05:53, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
I'm gonna add this into the walkthrough as a note. I had the same problem. Talking to him once more after buying everything fixed it. Rookwood 18:29, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
I fixed that save with the computer version so I cannot check at the moment, but I distinctly remember that I went back to Delvin multiple times and it did not finish the quest. Maybe a patch fixed it? Danice123 00:57, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

The Moving Mannequin[edit]

One of the mannequins in my house in Riften did the same thing. It was back in the right spot the next time I came into the house. Ahh, bugs... Bootstomp 07:35, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

I'd call it a feature when dark brotherhood stuff does creepy things 24.62.136.31 06:50, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Secret Entrance[edit]

What is the point of this? Its so much quicker just to use the original front door. Especially for a stage 4 vampire such as myself. If you couldn't fast travel to the front door then it would make sense but as it is, it just feels wasted. Kimi the Elf 07:15, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

When you fast travel to Dawnstar, you start out very close to the secret entrance. Dragofireheart 05:21, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Alchemy Lab Loose Ingredients / Potions[edit]

In my effort to try and replace the word 'several' in the details for the upgrades, I've noticed a somewhat random assortment of loose ingredients on the Alchemy Lab table - and was wondering, before listing them, if anyone else can report different ingredients, to confirm whether or not they are randomly spawned. I got:

Vampire Dust x2

Falmer Ear x2

Human Flesh x2

River Betty x3

Lotus Extract x2

Anyone else? Thanks. GodRaine 1.1.21.0 PC 22:46, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

I got the same, and it is non-random according to game data (refIDs for items):
Vampire Dust: 0010ff2e 0010ff2f
Falmer Ear: 0010ff21 0010ff22
Human Flesh: 0010ff25 0010ff2d
River Betty: 0010ff23 0010ff24 0010ff2c
Lotus Extract: 0010850d 0010850e

What happened to Astrids letter of credit?[edit]

Of course, I know the Falkreath sanctuary burned straight to the ground with Astrid among it, but I still think Delvin might've been a bit more considerate about the 15K credit he gave...? 84.82.119.44 00:41, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

The 15K was most likely used to prepare for the assassination of the Emperor, which was what the money was intended for anyway. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 02:03, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

It might just be me, but...[edit]

I think it might be worth noting that the quest's name is a reference to Oblivion, where the Orc in the dark brotherhood sanctuary would say, "You know what they say, home is where you hang your enemy's head! Ha ha!" I just thought that it might be worth putting that in the 'Notes' section of it — Unsigned comment by 99.241.192.167 (talk) at 16:44 on 16 February 2014 (GMT)

We already mention this at the proper location.--AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:44, 16 February 2014 (GMT)

Quest cannot be done At certain point.[edit]

Something that may need to be added here. If you are on one of Delvin's special quests (such as Silver Lining) you cannot complete this quest until that one is done. I just tried, and Delvin would only talk about the special job. FMPhoenixHawk (talk) 08:43, 27 June 2014 (GMT)

Additionally Delvin appears to have a minor bug if you have acquired all of the Litany of Larceny objects but not turned any of them in. He does not display the line for upgrading the Sanctuary until after at least one object is sold to him. Even then he still does not display all possible lines of dialogue since there are 9 Larceny objects, his usual three or four conversation options, and then the additional Sanctuary one. I counted a maximum if 11 dialogue options after selling one object and between 7 and 9 before (with the Sanctuary option missing). Vainamoinen -Talk -Stuff 07:21, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

Bugged Poisoner's Nook?[edit]

Has anyone else had the problem where the garden section of the Poisoner's Nook upgrade never regrows/respawns? I know several times I've been away from the sanctuary for around 10 game days, but the ingredients never grow back. Could it be a bug, or do you have to stay away from Dawnstar itself for 10 days in order to trigger the ingredients to grow back? I usually visit Dawnstar often to get the Khajiit merchant chest, so I'm not sure if that counts as visiting the sanctuary and resets the clock on the ingredients. Any thoughts? — Unsigned comment by Chocoholic (talkcontribs) at 22:05 on 22 November 2014

Maybe its on 30 days respawn cycle instead of 10 days, or you ware away not full 10 days, check by staying away 11 days and if it is not respawned then try 31 day Ciberzombie (talk) 08:03, 31 May 2018 (UTC)

Bedroom Mannequin[edit]

Once fully upgraded, bedroom mannequin will have three pieces of Shrouded Armor set except the armor (chest piece). But you actually gain one armor piece from Arnbjorn wewewolf body during the quest Death Incarnate. So the player can put it on the mannequin to complete the pieces, as a memory to a brother and a family. — Unsigned comment by 115.134.184.53 (talk) at 12:32 on 23 August 2023 (UTC)
