Edits & Redundancy[edit]

Added the Drowned Sorrows link, and considered removing the first two notes as they are already covered as Related Quests. Thoughts? — Unsigned comment by 24.247.177.201 (talk) at 15:12 on 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Suggestion[edit]

Consider changing the directions to ENE of Frostflow Lighthouse. I couldn't find the cave using the 'on the coast' directions, and had to use a map — Unsigned comment by 24.215.33.206 (talk) at 09:23 on 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Missing book[edit]

Boethiah's Calling doesn't seem to be on the indicated location at all times... at least in my current run I don't find it in the bookshelf. Might be level dependent - or random. WooShell 15:44, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

Its both. The Silencer 15:47, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
The book only appears at said locations when your level exceeds 29. Wolok gro-Barok 13:26, 8 April 2012 (UTC)

Items and Potions[edit]

I see no real benefit in describing the items in such detail, when many of them are just not fixed. Sorry, I know there goes much energy in a detailled writeup, but the problem of fixed item is not an easy one. Leveled items will be the same when visited several times, unless one vists the place (for the first time) on radically different levels. For concrete examples, I can't see "The Bear of Markarth" in the CK, but three books that will be from a random list - there are a remarkable number of fixed books in this cave though. All 6 potions in the open are from lists, either random or leveled. But figuring all this things out and making sure of them takes really a lot of time. --Alfwyn (talk) 23:58, 20 December 2013 (GMT)

Looks like there are actually two fixed potions in the open and I mixed up two potions in a recent edit. And I can see the book when looking closer. Sorry. --Alfwyn (talk) 01:08, 21 December 2013 (GMT)
Well, I'm cleaning the grammar up right now and have some places where describing so many items doesn't help for clarity - or relevance. If it helps, the potion on the table in the final room isn't a regeneration potion for me, but a restore potion (one for magicka), so I'm going to be making that reference more general. I guess there are two speperate concerns here. One is about accuracy, the other is how much detail is desired. For the latter, ideally a way could be found to document stuff for people wanting to know without burying stuff like skill books under a heap of lesser treasure.
As for the potions, noting the refrence ID can help (if on PC, click on item in the console), one can look that up in CSList to find out wether it is leveled or random. There is indeed a Potion of Plentiful Magicka (0002871f) in the dungeon, but it is in a cupboard together with a Potion of Extreme Healing (0002871e) in the room with the enchanter. Another cupboard in the room has a leveled restore health potion (000ea79c) and a leveled restore magicka potion (000ea79b).
In the room with the Stone of Barenziah in a cupboard there are a Potion of Minor Healing (0008137d) and two leveled restore magicka potions (0008137c, 00081380), but the latter is from a different list (LItemPotionRestoreMagickaBest).
There is a leveled potion on the table in the final room (000ea79d) and it is a leveled magicka restore potion (not regeneration, my bad). But I cannot find the potion on the altar or a dead body on it.
Finally there is a leveled restore health potion (000ea799) on a table in the room with the two copies of The Book of Daedra. --Alfwyn (talk) 14:13, 21 December 2013 (GMT)
